☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant
Mdd, you’ve just illustrated my point.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantTruthsharer, which Mitzvas Aseh is one mekayem with long payos?
Also, payos behind the ear may be neater, but they’re not really hidden.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIf anyone believes something which I don’t, they were brainwashed.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantSam2,
It was a chassidi’she posek; he’s not nearly R’ Moshe’s caliber, but he has a different mesorah, obviously, and is following the acharonim who asser.
I personally do go to chasunos.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAs far as guests who observe 1st 33 days attending wedding of someone during last week of Nisson, at time of wedding thou art on turf of Baal[as] Simcho and hence follow his/her Minhog & are allowed to partake in music.
Most people would attend a chasunah, but I know someone whose rov paskened not to attend a chasunah during the time of the sefirah aveilus. I think it was okay to be at the chupah.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantBTW there already is no Mitzwah to consume Matzoh once the Seder is over
According to the Vilna Gaon, there is.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI would ask frumnotyeshivish’s question a bit differently: is this not a critique on a lot more than merely our gabbaus system?
☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAm I dumb for not getting this or am I reading too much into this?
Both?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI am fascinated to learn that there are “cool guys” in yeshiva. Please tell me what makes them cool.
They don’t do gellilah.
April 4, 2013 1:23 am at 1:23 am in reply to: Is vayechulu a required part of Kiddush? (Friday Night) #942792☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantEven if you skipped it for some reason, you should go back and say it.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantSharp, that’s precisely why the Queens Vaad has its policy, and undoubtedly why the rav hamachshir of the pizzeria in DaMoshe’s area wouldn’t allow it to open.
I bought pizza after midnight.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantSG, welcome back!
Pizza shops have been caught, more than once, starting to work before the zman.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantMaybe he’s machmir on Isru Chag
…or this is The Longest Pesach.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantYes, T613, and meanwhile, I’m very bored.
So popa, nu… (unless it’s still yuntiff) .
☕ DaasYochid ☕Participantnot everyone who enjoys a slice of pizza is “mamish” a “chazir.”
I’m so glad you don’t think my kids and I are mamish chazeirim 🙂 .
I found that a fresh pie is a good incentive to turn the kitchen back over quickly.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIf you think it’s so terrible, why did you do it? (You wrote “everyone” which obviously includes you.)
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThey don’t wait until all supplies run out, they wait until there is a rov shelo avar alav haPesach.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantStill bored.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThe ???? I quoted earlier, ??? ?’ ?????? ?????? ???????, is quoted in several places in the ???? as a source for ??”?’s knowledge of material matters.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThe Vaad of Queens doesn’t allow for the pizza shops / restaurants to open Motzei Chage
Technically, they can open at 12, but in effect, it’s not worth opening.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIf it can say Sam Adams and be not kosher, I want to see a list (absent a symbol).
Wasn’t there a berry flavor which wasn’t kosher?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAlso, aren’t there some flavored ones that are problematic (not kosher)?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWhy have they used up their credibility if the acceptable ones are listed?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIsn’t it still Yuntiff? Wasn’t there a mistake on the calendar?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantSo the owner of the local pizza shop told me that he had pizza ready by 9:30. He made fresh dough while the frozen dough was defrosting.
The bigger problem, he told me, is getting the oven hot, which takes a few hours. So he left it on for the whole Yuntiff.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIf you make a wedding before R”C, it means you’re keeping the other minhag, so why would it be a problem to have music before R”C?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantOnly 164 days until I need a clean kittel. I can probably wait until next week to have it cleaned.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI eat the cheese cake after hearing the Aseres Hadibros, not during.
☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant147, that’s not an option for someone joining someone else’s seder.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIf you mean the big pop-up which needs to be closed, yes. I try to keep in mind that YWN is not a chessed, it’s someone’s parnassah, and he can do what he wants (within reason, of course).
☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant??? ?’ ?????? ?????? ???????
☕ DaasYochid ☕Participantmachine matzah (JK)
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantHow early is it reasonably possible to have fresh pizza ready without working before Yom Tov is over? The (sold) dough needs to defrost.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantPassaic/Clifton (you’ll need to go to Monsey for a larger selection of restaurants), Bayswater (cheaper than Five Towns/Far Rockaway with access to the same schools, shopping, and eateries).
You shouldn’t paint the entire Five Towns with one brushstroke; Lawrence is very different than Hewlett, for example.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantEfshar there are two tzedadim and the MB is paskening l’chumrah.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantSo at best, you’re less bored, but still bored.
You’re probably more bored, having nothing better to do than keeping track of how often people post.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantHow I am contradicting myself?
Here you’re suggesting that one wouldn’t ask directly because it’s a chutzpah, there you said one shouldn’t waste his time.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantMA,
You must be bored.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantSo you agree with TKND’s assessment of your position?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantZD, you are contradicting yourself.
http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/addresses-of-current-gedolim-1#post-448835
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantNsh, that’s why you have to ask.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIts a medical issue
The questioner didn’t know that.
ALL Medical issues should be private
Chacham Ovadiah doesn’t agree with you.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIt’s very odd that you think sunglasses are the same as a colostomy bag.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantZD, I don’t know what you want from that gemara.
Yes, we agree that there’s a limit. I don’t know why it’s not a fair question to ask about sunglasses; even if not to emulate, possibly to learn.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantGS,
You’re confusing the shidduch system with the chinuch system (which you’re almost entirely wrong about, but I’ll leave alone for now because it’s off topic).
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantLesschumras, do you think R’ Tuvia Goldstein zt”l was misquoted?
March 29, 2013 10:20 pm at 10:20 pm in reply to: One of the Causes for Weight GainShadchanim #943285☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantGS,
1) As popa says, don’t blame the shidduch system, blame the boys (then we can argue about how to fix the boys).
2) Who says other things aren’t more important? Appearance is obvious sooner, so it may be the most common grounds for stopping a shidduch, yet not the most important characteristic.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantZD, good, you understand that Rav Cahane was correct for his madreigah. I agree that for us, it would be inappropriate. We still see the concept of learning from a gadol (even about seemingly mundane matters), but you are almost completely discarding the concept.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantFrom my previous post: “choler” should read “choosy”.
Popa, in type, or in degree of hakpadah?
Rd, yes, but is there a causal relationship?
