catch yourself, thank you! I know that if I had such a homework assignment when I was a kid, I would have been frustrated after a couple ??????. I think it would be a lot more beneficial to teach kids the meaning of the Parsha then have them read without understanding.

And I do agree with popa. Doing ???”? when you understand it is very good and ?”? not babbling. However, to have a 9 year old do it IS babbling.

yyormark, welcome to the Coffee Room!

You have an interesting idea here but I don’t know what posting it here will do. Maybe discuss it with a Rebbe or Principal.

On a side note, I have trouble doing ???”? with ????? because I don’t understand it and it really doesn’t help me understand the ????. I know it was written with ??? ????? and it’s very holy, but I don’t have the patience for it. I started doing ??”? with ArtScroll instead. I think kids may have the same problem as me…

I think it’s safe to say that nothing has changed since I started this thread four months ago… Maybe even got worse!

We are now in the dead of winter. Short days, long dark nights. Cold, wet and yucky weather… And Purim is not for another two months! We need some excitement, some fun!

Peoplach, I am begging you, forget all the Shidduch threads! Let’s make the CR the geshmakie place it used to be!

    Best answer on this thread:

If you really want nothing to do with her at all, look up the phone number for the rejection hotline. Tell her that’s your new phone number. If she’s really THAT sensitive, tell her that if that one doesn’t work, there’s another one she can try. Give her the suicide hotline number for that one.

If you just want her to tone things down, tell her that you really want to help her, but you really don’t know enough about the subject matter to do so – but you know someone who can! Give her the number of your mother-in-law (are you married?) and let it be her problem.

oomis, search Google, vegan gluten free potato pancakes. There are a bunch of different recipes (one as simple as grate the potatoes, add a bit of spice and fry!) including baked version. I have not tested any, so I can’t recommend one. Read Reviews and Comments to get an idea what really works or needs tweaking…

    Hope you find something yummy!

Goldilocks, I doubt they get posted immediately. You can see what you posted but it will be highlighted yellow. This means it is awaiting moderation and only you (and the Mods) can see it. Sometimes the Mods do a speedy quick job of modding and posts get approved super fast and sometimes it can be 6+ hours….

There should not be a default but a blank space which must be filled to allow threads to be posted.

    IMPORTANT REMINDER TO ALL CR-ERS

Key Master, Mods, maybe there’s a way to change the default to blank and be a *Required Field.

I have my phone set on Blocking Mode to block all calls/texts/messages from ringing during Mincha. It works!

I was in a Yeshiva where they would SHHH babies in the EN and even birds tweeting outside!! It is ridiculous!

And if C”V the Baal Koreh makes a small mistake, half the place starts Nuu-ing him! Some things I don’t understand…
