Please, if you are not supporting a family at this point, think twice before you comment because you dont understand what Parnassah is until you are the head of the household.

some pple have jobs which requires them to take phone calls only- so between phone calls I guess…

Or someone like me- has to deal with many companies, and can sometimes wait over an hour for a big company to get to my phone call. In that spare time I check YW for any updates. Now for example, Im holding 15 minutes already and will probably still hold another 15 for this one!!!

Thank you Joseph, but while Im a very big Maamin, I believe in a bit of Hishtadlus too.

Let me ask you a more personal question:

Do you learn during the day(when not on YW)or do you work?

A SKIRT WITH A SLIT IS ASSUR- PERIOD. It attracts much attention. That cant be denied.

Lenghth of skirt- to each individual, must make sure your knees are covered AT ALL TIMES- when standing, sitting, and when getting into a van….etc….

SJSIN- something is Assur only if the Torah or your Rabbi says so.I never asked about Facebook, so I dont know if its Assur or not.

But not everything that’s not Assur is RIGHT!!! Maybe you wont go to Gehinom for it, but it definitely doesnt bring a person closer to Gan Eden either. That’s the point.

Not everything that is allowed- is allowed for EVERYONE. Go a bit out of your way to guard yourself from Aveiros. Thats it. Use your common sense please and dont come giving me examples now of things we have to refrain from and we all do it. Everyone should use their own judgement.

    Each to their own.

David Bar Magen- Your comment was sssssssssoooooooooooo cute. Go compare a bakery, which we need for daily living, to Facebook- something we dont need but only want.

Being that so many wrong relationships started on Facebook, and that’s a fact, it is considered something that many pple stay away from. Since these stories generally do not occur in bakeries, it is considered ok to enter a bakery. If bakeries would also bring negative results, pple would start being extra cautious and refrain from using bakeries too.

Please stop making unsensible comparisons. If you believe that facebook is so great, go ahead and use it- AT YOUR OWN RISK. If someone wants to watch themselves from putting themselves into a situation, there is nothing wrong with not being on facebook. Good for them!! They are doing the right thing!!!

QUEEN- Please, do your research immediately and just place him in whatever sounds best to you, even if it’s not 100% what you wanted. It’s not healthy for anyone, especially a young boy to sit home all day. It’s not good for his sanity, and not too great for his self esteem either. Please resolve the matter immediately. Im very worried for him. He needs structure and schedule.

YOSHI- Those who think you should overlook the outer shell of a person completely…..

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER competely overlook the outer shell!!!Its very important to see that the girl is neat, ok looking, and not ugly etc…

But to make that as priority 1, is not important for a marriage to succeed.

LGBG- any relationship, where you do dont know the person personally, can end up dangerous. You think you get to know the person, but you dont.

And since Facebook is a public, free site, any person can post themselves on it. Doesnt sound too safe to me. I would never post there. Too public.

FEMINIST- Not all Chassidish couples are happy of course, but nothing having to do with being attracted before marriage, for most cases.

proof- not all Litvish pple are happy either, and they were all of course so attracted before, since they dated one hundred times……

And, couples who divorce could have been attracted one hundred times to each other, but it does not gaurantee them a happy life.

Most Chassidishe couple who only met once, live very happily together.

MARINER- POCK MARKS OVER THEIR SKIN, WHO SMELLS BAD, AND IS DISHEVELED IS UGLY.

Now, that is a whole different story- your not talking about Hashem’s creation here. You’re talking about someone not taking care of themselves. That’s not called ugly as in opposition of beauty. That is ugly as in neglected. This is something that can be helped, and the person is at fault.

We’re talking about natural looks, how you were born and cannot change.

Anyway, I did not mean that you should marry someone who is unattracting.Someone who you view as ugly, be it skinny or fat, please dont marry them!!! But someone who is just decent looking, not the PRETTIEST, and well put together, will become attracted after marriage.

By the way, take a look at the Chassidishe world, they meet once and engaged!!! I doubt they get attracted to each other like that. But guess what, it works!!!

Theyre all so happy, many of them happier than couples that were SOOOOO attracted to each other.

A woman in a hot air balloon realizes she is lost. She

lowers her altitude and spots a man fishing from a

    boat below.

She shouts to him, ‘Excuse me, can you help me? I

promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I

    don’t know where I am.’

The man consults his portable GPS and replies, ‘You’re

in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a

ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are

at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100

    degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.

She rolls her eyes and says, ‘You must be a

    Republican!’

‘I am,’ replies the man. ‘How did you know?’

‘Well,’ answers the balloonist, ‘everything you tell

me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to

do with your information, and I’m still lost. Frankly,

you’re not much help to me.’

The man smiles and responds, ‘You must be a Democrat.’

‘I am,’ replies the balloonist. ‘How did you know?’

‘Well,’ says the man, ‘You don’t know where you are or

where you’re going. You’ve risen to where you are, due

to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise

that you have no idea how to keep, and now you expect

me to solve your problem. You’re in exactly the same

position you were in before we met, but, somehow,

    now it’s my fault.

BEACON- no, I am not living in a cave. I rather know exactly what goes on in the world today. I am just stating a fact of how it SHOULD be, not how we behave in reality. Sadly, we dont follow that frame of mind today. But it really would be the right thing to do!!! I wish!!!

I did something fantastic- we all loved it.

I got a dish that has a ceramic bowl on a stand with a candle underneath it.(bought in Manhattan dept. store for about $10).

I cut up some fresh fruits, melons, even banana! and of course some fresh choc chip cookies/brownie cakes. I then filled this dish with bittersweet baking chocolate, lit the candle under the dish, and waited for the choc to melt.

We then had a delicious dessert dipping the fruits into the hot chocolate!!!!

    Was a real delicacy!!

    The family was thrilled!!!!

HASHEM YISHMOR- since when do we only marry boys/girls that are attracting? If a girl has great Middos, is a balabuste, a Yiras Shomayim, and of course looks neat and put together- that’s enough. No need to get attracted before marriage. If she’s a good girl, any boy will get attracted to her for what she IS, not for what she LOOKS.

Today’s Shidduchim are only about looks. Much more important than Middos.

Personally- I find many real pretty girls very sour and with bad Middos. Of course there are many wonderful, pretty woman out there, but so many of them are pretty on the outside and not too pretty inside at all….

To Joseph and anyone else interested in a refreshing fruit salad. Here goes:

    3 pomegranates(seeds)

    6 kiwis(peeled and diced)

    2 mangos(peeled and diced)

    1 bag frozen strawberries

    1 15oz can crushed pineapple(drained)

    1 15oz can pineapple tidbits(drained)

1 cup raspberry jello (prepared according to package instructions)

Mix all ingredients, then pour on prepared jello and mix.

    ENJOY!!!

This recipe is originally from the Bablabuste’s Choice cookbook, however, I tried that many times until I figured out exactly how I like it best. So this post here is that recipe but generously modified.

GILA- you posted a very difficult question. You will never know in this world what your Yesurim are from. They might just be a test from Hashem to see how well you pass, they might serve as an atonement for your sins or for the sins of your previous Gilgul, or it may be that Hashem is just giving you all suffering here that in the next world everything should be really good for you…

One can never know, but there definitely is a reason for everything and I give you a Bracha that you should suffer no more and whatever suffering you do go through should only be for the good.

May you and all of Klal Yisroel know of no more suffering and live healthy, peacefully and happily until 120!

EYESOPEN-that was a wonderful post- couldnt be more true.

And to those of you who claim that men that are unattracted to heavier girls- you are not looking to get married to build a home, you are looking for other things in marriage- for that relation with the most beautiful girl.

Jewish marriage is about loving each others for what you are. If you have a true Ayshis Chayil as a wife, you love her no matter what.

Please- Im not talking about some women who DONT CARE about their looks. Some are unfortunately really messy, and shluchy as we call it.But, the average wife, who looks put together and neat, should be perfectly ok for us Yidden.
