“is corporate influence on the vox populi as it were”

i’m trying to understand so don’t be offended. when you say corporate influence, are you referring to companies who donate big bucks to a presidential campaign and then get favors from the gov? (didnt the VP or s/o have a green energy co. go bankrupt recently?)

while free commerce seems like a good idea, certain categories SHOULD be monitored. one, FDA. drugs need to be monitored continuously as new side effects only become known once the drug is in the general population. two, the USDA. no brainer meat that has found to have been contaminated should be recalled. those are 2 off the top of my head. they might not be perfect but imagine if no one found the increased risk of MI associated with Vioxx?

what do they think of cains 9 9 9 plan? is that one still the best plan out there or did he lose support b/c of the allegations against him?

sorry if i’m asking too many questions. this whole OWS is fascinating. wonder where its going to lead. how are the other occupy movements doing?

so basically, they want complete laissez-faire with NO govt control as well as big name corps can not contribute to gov affairs and funds?

i dont follow politics much but ron paul is not a name i have heard a whole lot as apposed to gingrich, romney, cain etc. is paul tea party? even thought the media is misconstruing the thoe whole OWS matzev, thats the only side majority of the ppl are hearing and seeing. one point i have to add, a teacher mentioned they use the terms 1% and 99%. she pointed out that its much easier to classifier one self into this rather than upper lower class, lower middle class, middle working class etc. in this way, e/o knows which part they belong to.

while you were there, what was the average age and level of ed? the media says they are all college aged students. this true? and what is there stand on obama and his policies? even though i may not really care about their movement, i’m still interested in it. that make sense?

soliek, i kinda have 1 opinion on OWS. as long as they dont mess up public transportation in NJ and NY, i could not care less what they do. seriously. IMHO until they get their act together and say what they want and not a mess of ppl in a park and formally announce how they plan to change the financial market, all they are is a group of ppl living in a park making a whole lotta noise.

I’ve always talked in my sleep. in camp bunk mates would tell me in the morning all the conversations i had while i was asleep. they never made sense but they thought it was funny i could have a back and forth conversation while sleep talking. now i would be scared to share a room with ANYONE cuz i’m scared of what i would say. there’s lots of stuff in nursing school that should NEVER be repeated elsewhere.

the most annoying thing about being found out is the lack of anonymity. and it doesn’t help matters that my pharm classmate blabbed my SN to her carpool. but i got over it and started posting again after taking a bit of a hiatus from posting and just ‘lurked’ in the shadows. it is good to be back but i am doing it more on the conservative side, just to be safe.

Health: i was actually found out because of a thread i started labeled “pharm”. one of my class mates recognized my style and txted me “are you so and so on the CR?”. the second time was actually from a different comment that i made on a thread about young couples getting divorced. a HS classmate went to a mutual friend of ours and asked her does this person sound like s/o in our class? and my friend (being the good friend that she is) asked me for conformation before spreading rumors. i don’t think the info was so specific to me and so identifying but i guess it was. even months later i can’t figure out how it gave me away. any ideas?

just FYI, not all stalkers are posters. there are CR readers who do just that-they read without posting. and they know as much info as posters do. please be careful with what you post. its is possible to be found out and busted by one of these silent readers. I know because it happened to me not once but two times in about the span of a couple of days because of a comment i made. i learned my lesson the hard way. i wish we had the CR shomrim before this. THANX jothar for this public service.

Aries, thank you so much for your post. As you said I’m doing things I never thought I would do. And hearing things that are necessary for my courses but can’t really be repeated elsewhere. The hardest thing though is hearing certain comments about Jews and such and NOT taking it personally but rather answering professionally and respectfully. Over here in this rotation I don’t believe this hospital gets many Jews so I hope I get a break from questions. And that I learn how to ask such questions appropriately because IY”H it’s part of the job I hope to begin soon.

Health: actually it is s/t’s ignorance that leads to these ideas. and yes i have “re-educated” some nurses i have met. and B”H they are receptive to me correcting them. and about asking questions, it was really just that first time. if i had to do it now i dont think i would feel the same way.

ARWSF, i hope your baby is healthy now. i did a rotation in NICU but in a ‘step down’ room- the babies i saw were all on room air and getting better. the room with critical babies was a little scary, and for good reason. after spending a day there, i think i decided to leave it to nurses who are better at handling those emotions.

and i started my peds rotation today-IY”H this rotation will be phenomenal. i’m kinda already thinking this is where i might want to work one day BE”H soon.

PBA, according to the DSM-IV, TR the manual to diagnose mental disorders, they are called “eating disorders”. thats the name given to the group regardless if it is mental or physical problem. look at it this way: its a mental disorder that can have severe physical ramifications

A mamin: a smart phone can do more than just make phone calls and receive/send texts. It can send emails, open/read word docs, access the Internet and can also play music and lots more. Smart phones now also have add on programs called apps that range from games to clocks to references to siddurim and tehillim! Some ppl call them a gift an some ppl call them a curse because you are never unreachable so it depends for each person

bli ayin hara, verizon has phenomenal service, in NYC (where i go to school) in NJ (where i live) and the mountains (where i wish i was for the summer). the one time i can remember losing service, besides the subway and the few spots in the mountains was on a train ride home a few months ago. the service was fading in and out for like 20 min but when the train pulled into my town, i got full reception. was a weird fluke and hasnt happened since then.

i got this phone cuz my old one broke and this was the most normal free upgrade. its a great phone.

The battery lasts a few days on if I just use it for texting an not vibrate. Talk time I can get 4 hours or more. Blue tooth uses more battery. I would suggest getting a screen cover cuz it has a large screen. If you have anymore questions I would be glad to help. Hatzlacha phone shopping

Ilovetheholyland: i’m not quite sure what your asking as an oxymoron but there are men who balance their working and learning schedule. the problem is they are all married. out there somewhere<em/> these guys have “younger brother” (thats the only way i can think to say it).

and why would it be a “waste” for you to marry a learning boy if you dont have a preference? if any thing, its NOT a waste because you have a choice betweent the two, and you can ultimately choose the one that works for you. 12th grade and seminary were real eye openers for me in that i realized, i dont have the mentality (or family support both financially, or emotionally) to marry a working boy.

and as one of the previous posters said (might of been yossi, not sure) some one has to be the zevulan to the yissasschar. BE”H we will all find our zivugim, and may we not fall discouraged from all the negativity that sorrounds us because of our choices.

yossi: wow. i didnt know that working boys also had it hard.

(you dont by any chance have some friends looking for a working girl? LOL)

MP: my crowd of friends aren’t the ones who i feel is looking down. they support me even though they are looking for learning boys. its the ppl (ie family friends) who ask “sooooooo what type of boy are you looking for?” and when i say i’m looking for working, they say OH. B”H my parents support me that i want a working boy. its just really hard to find one thats also a mensch (responsible, reliable, has good middos and shomer torah u’mitzvos)

    Happy: beautiful poem. thank you.

    i’ll be the “first” one.

when i say i’m looking for a working boy, i feel like ppl are looking down at me for that. i went to a frum BY, a good sem (cleveland, both of which tried to convince me you HAVE to have a learning boy and now i’m in nursing school. so i dont want a kollel boy. why do ppl think that a working boy is “worse” than a learning boy?

and the ones who dont look down wish me luck in finding a “normal” working boy!!!! will the single guys PLEASE tell me why it is so hard to find a working boy with a degree who knows the derech he wants to go in life?

anyone with any brains can check my profile and posts and see for a fact that i am not joseph.

i am doing this cuz ZK and R-B are insulted and i really could not care less what my subtitle is.

and look from the parents point of view. if they are going for the nine days, you need that much clothing and you can’t get around it.
