speaking of awkward situations, i go to college and we have a few frum men in the program. one day last week i reached to doors 2 seconds before one of the man, so i held the door for him. BUT NO!!!!!!! chas v’shaloim he should walk through a door held by a single girl. needless to say the elevator ride up was really awkward and he bolted the second the doors opened

i learned in HS that the only problem is a man/woman walking behind the opposite gender, and that walking diagonally behind is OK. is this true or not?

just to add my 2 cents…..

if a guy wants a supermodel, or a girl wants a handsome prince, maybe he/she should take a step back and see if the chitzonius is so important? isn’t it the inside of the girl/boy that counts? the girl/boy doesn’t have to be beautiful to the entire world!!! its just the spouse that has to be attracted to his/her wife/husband!!

HRH: but shouldn’t she answer them if they say good morning first or if they ask her a question related to the nursing material? you still have to be a mensch.

HUDI: just be a little distant, give a slight cold shoulder. and hopefully they will get the hint.

tums: i know someone who txts a guy. 1, he’s older, 2 he’s married, 3, they talk “shop” (they are both in the medical field)

so there ARE exceptions to every rule

but in general, i agree, girls should not be txting boys

and i probably just got myself in major trouble in the CR

    in reply to: texting #745295

I’m a teen (but almost not) and i can say, txting is addicting. even txting friends and whatever, its very easy to exchange 100 txts a day, and thats just with one person!! B”H for unlimited txting plans.

as long as the txts are appropriate, not containing L”H, or inappropriate exchanges between girls and boys, why not? if it were not for txting, i would have NO social life.

the one negative thing that i got from txting is that e/t gets abbreviated. there’s not enough room in the message to write it out whole.

yummy, what i was saying was a person can be wearing clothes that are 100 percent tznius, but the image might not be the best to choose. its a sensitivity in the area of tznius. not everyone has it.

but, then again, you are right that words attract attention and SS over LS does not. its really comes down to the image that you want to display. i do agree that the style seems to say i want to wear it but its not tznius so i’ll ‘fix’ it, but then why dont jumpers, and short dresses with a pencil skirt fall under the same question

i think its more of a sensitivity. long sleeves are 100% kosher. its just when a person wears it with long sleeve, its a different look. personally, i don’t wear it, but my younger sisters do. the camps are looking for a certain image, and the short sleeves over long sleeves is not part of that image. i think it falls into the same category as wearing words across the front of one’s chest. people wear it, but is it part of the image of a bas yisroel

i think its the girls themselves who have a bias to their hair and think men like it straight. personally i like curly hair but my hair is that frizzy mess in between straight and curly so i do iron it. but many of my friends have curly hair, and leave it curly with mousse and gel. girls! if you have curly hair, leave it curly! its part of your personality!
