Can I cheer you up? Cold compress and maybe some tylonol for the headache, and for the accessories, try giving and/or getting a good hug from someone. Here, let me start with what I can do, a virtual hug *big (nice) bear hug*

Hi zeeskite! 😀 Hey! Don’t talk about yourself like that.

There is still one other poster I’m looking to catch (as indicated by the symbol I made. And if that doesn’t make it obvious to them ..)

HI! 🙂 sorry y’all I’ve been extremely busy lately what with settling in the new apartment, working on a couple projects, managing my divisions at work, etc, etc, etc. As much as I can, I have been keeping an eye on you guys though. You will see that my screen name has popped up here and there.

Thanks for the mention! Didn’t realize I was gone for so long (or that I really added THAT much)

As a note, yogibooboo (turns out was a neighbor of mine back (by my second) home), left never to come back. So yogibooboo told me. In person.

As a music analyst, I look at a singers accuracy, lung capacity control (you can tell this by how they sing), accuracy and fluency of the instrumentals, flow of both the singer and instrumentals, compatibility of the lyrics to the instrumentals, and it goes on.

Are you comfortable with who you are and is she comfortable with who she is. Next, are the characters, goals, skills, and needs compatible to build a functioning home. That is for interpersonal. A basic matter necessary to all parties is a working basic floor plan of long term support (and no the laws don’t count except for certain circumstances).

Coming from someone who is “working his way back”, I would like to give my input as I feel all of you should hear from a current person on what you would call the other side. Calling kiruv coming back or any other term that creates a separation between the parent and the child’s choice of lifestyle, can actually be a lot more damaging than anybody can imagine (trust me, I know). Whether or not you actually call it that to the child’s face does not change one’s attitude and can still be told by the way you react or talk in general. Kiruv means to bring close not bring back. Being that this thread is for a specific child and not general kiruv, I will only say one general thing. I have personally found that the biggest matters when it comes to kiruv, is acceptance and attitude-of the caregiver and it has to be true and real, you can’t fake it because it won’t work.

Dunno where awarenessvaad (he? She?) Got it from but I will vouch based on personal experience of seeing others’ marriages (I do life coaching so unfortunately I get to see a lot).

Either way, awarenessvaad is correct on their point. Think about it.

Goq: no, the question was specific to me. I was asking what others think about why I should stay. For myself I already worked those variables out. Just curious what y’all gotta say on the matter.

The situation between me and my father is completely different as I don’t think he has realized/accepted the type of life I live. I don’t think he was happy even before I said it was a joke.

They were actually and truly purely happy just for me. I didn’t think the care ran that deep, and for that, I apologize.

Ok. I pulled an april fools joke on the mazal tov thread that I was engaged. I called april fools here but I had already pushed the joke out onto facebook (hold back comments please) and it reached my father through a cousin. I started this thread to apologize for doubting those people that I pranked.

Even by giving the circle a girl is part of, one can not answer such questions as each individual girl is different. Some look for middos, some look for character, some look for looks, some look for smarts, etc. All in the same circle.

You know, I love how I have been here for over two years and yet I still get referred to formally. Hello! I’m only 20. Ok no offense but i just sounded like my teenage sister lol.

Yummy: Yup! I was there for two years and even went to college for a semester there. If your cousins are part of the frummer/yeshivah community, I probably did. Apparently I am still a legend there (not exactly sure what it is I did though lol). Why not ask them if they know me?
