CUNY Professor Charged With Assaulting NYPD Officer On Brooklyn Bridge During Protest

linA Brooklyn man has been charged with assault on a police officer and resisting arrest in connection with two officers during a massive march over recent police-involved deaths.

Eric Linsker appeared in court Sunday night and was released on his own recognizance.

A statement from Baruch College confirmed Linsker is an adjunct professor there.

He was arrested after allegedly trying to throw a garbage can at officers below him on the Brooklyn Bridge.

As they attempted to take him into custody, other demonstrators intervened.

The two lieutenants were treated for bumps and bruises, including a broken nose.

Tens of thousands of people participated in the largely peaceful march Saturday.

Police recovered Linsker’s backpack, which they say contained three hammers and a black face mask.

His lawyer called the case weak.
