Hamas leader Khaled Meshal, who is based in Syria, reported that despite good relations with Syria and Iran, he is not controlled by either.

“Just like Hamas is not involved in the decision-making process with others, the same hold true regarding Iran or Syrian control over us,” he added.

In the interview with the Kuwaiti media, he added that regarding negotiations via turkey between Syria and Israel, it is “just a tactic,” stating with certainty that Israel is not genuinely willing to relinquish control of the Golan Heights.
