Following reports of Maran HaGaon HaRav Chaim Ovadia Yosef Shlita showing signs of improvement, it is now being reported the gadol hador opened his eyes, recognized family members, and they put tefilin on him.

Today, Wednesday, 28 Tishrei 5774 is a day of optimism as family members report the rav was able to mutter Shema despite still being connected to so many tubes.

The rav responded to the family members and the medical team confirms there is significant improvement.

Nevertheless, the gadol hador is still listed in serious/stable condition.
