Hezbollah is making preparations for a potential war with Israel amid assessments that Iran is pressuring the terror group to attack Israel if the US attacks Iran, Al-Arabiya reported.
According to the report, Hezbollah’s leadership has recently increased the frequency of military and security meetings in order to prepare plans for an expected war.
Sources cited in the report claimed that the IDF’s airstrikes in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley on Friday were a “prelude” to an Israeli military operation that would be carried out in parallel with strikes on Iran.
The report also quoted sources close to Hezbollah who said that Hezbollah is not currently directed by Lebanese leaders but by officers from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The IRGC officers are not only rebuilding Hezbollah’s military capabilities but are also personally supervising operational planning and meeting with Hezbollah units across different regions.
The report added that the Iranian officers also held meetings with members of the missile unit targeted by the IDF in Friday’s strikes.
The sources also said they believe that an Israeli attack against Hezbollah is “a matter of time.”
