onlyemes, look around you. how many people lost their jobs this year, how many people lost their SAVINGS this year?? nothing can be taken for granted. hashem runs the world ,and nebach it can be taken away in seconds. we aren’t putting our trust in the segula, but it’s a tefilla. wishing all of the klal that we should be able to provide for our families. this week is shabbos shira, we say oz yashir. what a beautiful parsha. i usually have tears in my eyes when we read it in shul.

ok,you spent 2 wks. writting lists of who you would like to meet. next step, and this maybe can be on the same thread, WHY do you want to meet them and WHO would you be meeting? what are their personalities? see if it matches up. without mentioning anything personal.

why don’t you get in touch with a relative from israel and see what it was like to be here during the war. if you need the pollitics of the war, in short ,amalek hates us. end. if you want gr8 stories on emuna and bitachon, there is that also.

only proffesionals can help children that went through some kind of abuse, but today the programs, i do not want to write names, that send “big brothers and big sisters” to spend a few hours a week to be with the otd children, are taught what to look for .mind you All conversations that go on between a child and his mentor must be confidential in order for the relationship to work. if the mentors fear there is a bigger problem, only then they will go to the head of the program to report it.the mentors spend time and just have a good time with the kids. they do not try to change them.

there are so many issues to this topic. excuse me if i slightly go off. i seem to be quite older than most people in the cr. i have a sister nearing 60. she told me when she was younger growing up in the states, the kids in the day school all played with each other. it didn’t matter if they were from chassidish homes or litvish. everyone were friends and the parents did not check each other out. the generation has changed. schools have changed. try getting an average student into school, impossible! pick up an average jewish magazine with adds. the gashmiyus is enormous. we are different. we want different things for our families that people didn’t have or need 40 years ago. abuse is out there yes, but i know many teenagers personally that were not physiclly abused that are otd. we need tons of love and tons of patience for these kids. maybe that is what g-d is trying to teach us now. it doesn’t really matter why, but how can we help them.

moish, no guilt- trip here. mitzvos are between you and g-d. and when you are ready, you will do it. the gates to g-d are open 24/7. i’m an ffb. i also have a hard time to always daven properly . we are only human. but g-d gives us so many chances to come close to him. and what’s with the girly feeling stuff. it’s gr8 to talk. you are writting here and opening up to us about your feelings. continue and wer’e rooting for you!!

moish, if you need someone to speak with, you don’t neccesarily have to go to a rav. it can be a young man just a few years older than you, it’s good to open up to someone, and not keep everything bottled up inside.

like all habits, it takes time to change. one small idea is to read the introduction of the english shmiras haloshon, it speaks about our speach, and when a person realizes how important our speach is , we will slowly think before we speak. hatzlocha.

it depends on the pics. the mushy ones we can do without, but the regular ones are very sweet, and this way we don’t have to go in2 facebook and get stuck there. like i say, if you don’t like it, don’t go in2 it. i would takeh like to see these people’s pics. 3 yrs. later. are they still smiling?

notpashut, don’t judge people.if they dress like that, thats between them and g-d. they did not grow up like you and the mantality is different in israel. i have family both in the chareidi world and datti leumi world. when you look at the datti leumi ones, on first sight you might think, pashut people, not torahdik. sandals. kippa sruga, gun at the side. i’m telling you, they all keep, and i’m speaking about my family, seder in learning which is kodesh kedoshim, davening with a minyan, etc. these are hard working people that are doing what’s right. i’m sure people try to come to davening with presentable clothing.

well about the nuts, i would throw them out. you would not use a hammer etc,as someone posted because it’ll cost you more $ to get to the emergency room where you will be with a broken thumb and fingers than it would cost you to buy some more decent nuts. as for our friends in the peanut comics, i think charle brown would for sure give up, before he even started. sally would pound them quite hard on charlie’s head to get them open. snoopy would be on his dog house waiting for his dinner. and shcroeder of course, would be at the piano. good luck with the nuts whatever you decide to do with them.

all beautiful jewish music songs that we sing today were from shlomo carlebach. it’s a totally different beat from the music of today. he really reached the neshoma with his music. it doesn’t matter if you agree with his hashkofos or not. the deveykus was there when he sang a niggun.
