ya it was even worse when i was driving on coney island ave in flatbush and this police guy was going in the other direction and he saw a double parked car in my direction so he quickly just made a U-turn without caring to look and i had to make a short stop and almost hit him as he flew around into my side cuz he “had” to run to give the guy a ticket!

brooklyn is so chillled you just chill here its the best place around. In OOT, you walk out of your house at 8pm, you feel depressed cuz its DEAD. In brooklyn you walk out of your house many hours later then that, there are still people around, people to talk to, place to daven. you people are ridiculous! you wanna live a depressed life OOT??? Your next door neighbor lives a mile away. Then they say in brooklyn you don’t know the person around the block from you. I don’t neccesarily think thats always true but the fact is, i know all the people on my block, and that is over 50 frum heimeshe families. In OOT you may know all the people in your city but its still less then 50 people. So the next time you bash brooklyn, just remember that your missing out alot! Oh and i love when they say that brooklyners are rude, biggest joke i ever heard. THe same rude people are OOT. Just since there are more people in brooklyn, so you see more rude people. OOT there are less people bichlal so ofcourse there are less rude peopl!!

A bochur told me he asked Rav Belsky if it’s mutar for him to have texting? Rav Belsky replied: Absolutely YES, as long as it isn’t used excessively. Alot of bochurim do use it excessively but many including myself DONT.

    “this thread is a SHANDA!”

mikehall12382: you’re a SHANDA. You are so close minded, and can’t seem to understand how a person can follow sports. THere is absolutely nothing wrong with it if a person follows sports without idolizing the players. Don’t say nonsense here just to make people feel like their doin the wrong thing.

in my house were pretty strict we dont buy all the nonsense on pesach. But i was in a hotel lastnight for a concert, its not normal what they have there. They served for supper hamburgers and BUNS that tasted like chometz! They served macaroni for lunch one day that was BETTER then chometz (someone there told me) and there is so much cake!! you wouldn;t know its pesach!

logician: Been there. Done it. All these tests and reward systems that the yeshivos offer do not require all that much learning. maybe 1-3 hours a day. That isn’t all that much. There is no program in any yeshiva that is telling the kids to sit and learn 10 hours a day bein hazmanim!

logician: what in the world are you talking about/?? These programs have absolutely no pressure. The one in my area davens 8:30 they serve breakfast and then they learn from 10 till 12 and then have a shiur for 45 minutes. what kind of pressure is that. That is a perfect type of learning for bein hazmanim. please explain what you mean that these programs create too much pressure!

blabla: that is utterly false. Boys help quite a bit in the kitchen like changing over the kitchen to pesachdig. pealing vegetables/fruitts and so on… Boys are just as much needed at home as are girls.
