October 31, 2020 10:58 pm at 10:58 pm in reply to: character vs policy Which is more important? #1915486Reb EliezerParticipantBiden will work on downplayed coronavirus which will automatically improve the economy. The borders will be protected through technology rather than the wall. The second amendment is being used in polling places to intimidate voters. Biden will cut taxes for the middle class making less than $400,000. He can continue middle east peace negotiations. Trump with his corporate tax cut created the biggest deficit such that money is unavaible for coronavirus relief causing small businesses to go bankrupt. All that deregulation is not so good allowing to destroy our water and air making people sick. Conservative judges might limit liberties of Jews as well. Law Enforcement does not have the right to shoot anyone on sight. Fracking will be replaced slowly by switching to solar energy and by using electric cars and you are maybe supporting autocratic education. The rich have the money to pay their bail. Capitalism has become one sided by supporting the rich and not caring for the poor. I don’t want foreign natiions to interfere in our elections for either side.
Reb EliezerParticipantYou are missing the point. Trump publicizes on his own his bad behavior and being proud of it.
Reb EliezerParticipantWearing a wig without any covering, specially if it looks like regular hair, is an argument between the Shiltei Hagiborim and the Beer Sheva 19, Magen Avraham on SA O’CH 75,2 See the Sefer Hakeser Vehakavod Lechai Alomim.
Reb EliezerParticipantWhen anyone said masks were not required was because there was a shortage of masks for medical first responders. I don’t know that anyone said that social distancing is not required. The rioters were condemned by Biden. Trump condemned the protesters.
Reb EliezerParticipantAlso, the mazal is not in his favor, as children are dependent on the mazal. Hashem added a heh to Avram and changed Sarai making their name Avraham and Sarah both becoming a different individual on whom the mazal has no control. The yud of Sarai was applied to Hoshea making his name Yehoshua bin Nun. According Rebbi Reb Heshel the shvo for the yud was taken from ben making it bin.
Reb EliezerParticipantcommon saychal, how do you know about all those people?
Reb EliezerParticipantWhitewater and Lewinsky was publicized by the press. Mechalel shabbos openly is considered doing it lehaches whereas privately is letaovan.
Reb EliezerParticipantcommon saychal, where is your common saychal? You said zero morals? Even Trump cares for his family. He did not drive off on purpose but was drunk. He should not have escaped. What did Trump tbe playboy do while married? Over twenty five accusations. If no smoke, no fire.
Reb EliezerParticipantIt says, a person should pray not to get sick. Once a person gets sick ch’v, he needs special protection, zechusim to get cured. Besides prayer, we must do everything possible like wearing masks, washing hands and social distancing to protect ourselves from the coronavirus and then Hashem will help us. It is a mitzva of ushmartem meod lenafshosechem to protect ourselves from getting sick. If a person endangers himself, he will not be helped.
Reb EliezerParticipantMasks even if saving one from dying, is worth it.
Reb EliezerParticipantcommon saychal, do you read posts? The only case was the Chappaquiddick incident that I know of.
October 30, 2020 1:30 pm at 1:30 pm in reply to: Mentioning a person “dies of Covid” in headline #1915306Reb EliezerParticipantTrump relies on a crazy idea of herd immunity without a vaccine were many people get infected and end up dying.
Reb EliezerParticipantThe above about Balak fearing harm to himself is said by the Maharsha Horiyus (10,2).
Reb EliezerParticipantGH, see what I wrote why Trump might be winning: https://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/trump-winning
October 30, 2020 11:48 am at 11:48 am in reply to: Halachic Ramifications of Killing Whilst in the Military #1915272Reb EliezerParticipantIn the US it might be a problem because you are enlisting voluntarily in the army.
Reb EliezerParticipantWhen it comes to hakoras hatov intentions do matter. Moshe Rabbenu was afraid of Og king of Bashan for saving Lot and he was told not to be afraid because his intention was that Avraham get killed to marry Sarah.
Reb EliezerParticipantBalak was rewarded with Ruth because his actions were from fear.
Reb EliezerParticipantThe more risk you take, the more you get rewarded for the mitzva. Lefum tzare agre.
Reb EliezerParticipantYou are mekayem the mitzva of love your fellow men like yourself as masks help others not yourself. If everyone would be wearing a mask, you would not need one.
Reb EliezerParticipantcommon saychel, the problem is that Trump publicizes his bad behavior but other president did not.
Reb EliezerParticipantThe Chezkuni has a very interesting pshat on above kashye in believing in Hashem. Vayachsheveho lo tzedaka means that Avraham considered it a favor for himself, thinking that he is not worthy of it.
Reb EliezerParticipantI don’t know who gives daf tube. but you might want to see: https://www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/promotions/1813690/the-full-story-behind-the-8-minute-daf.html

October 29, 2020 8:03 pm at 8:03 pm in reply to: New Conservative Supreme Court Supermajority #1915032Reb EliezerParticipantWhen there are unforeseen circumstances as coronavirus, the intent of the legislature in judgement becomes important and they cannot follow the letter of the law even textualists.
October 29, 2020 2:02 pm at 2:02 pm in reply to: New Conservative Supreme Court Supermajority #1914962Reb EliezerParticipantShould be above, These judges.
October 29, 2020 1:34 pm at 1:34 pm in reply to: New Conservative Supreme Court Supermajority #1914918Reb EliezerParticipantThis judges are wrong. Not for nothing it says chesed veemes yekadmu panecha, Hashem places kindness before truth. When we have coronavirus, unexpected by the legislature, the law cannot be interpreted as written and allowances must be made in voting.
Reb EliezerParticipantAccording to the Woodward tapes, Kushner violated halacha by advising not to listen to doctors in April, where it says for Shabbos and Yom Kippur (SA O’CH 328,10 and SA O’CH 618,1) to follow the doctors.
Reb EliezerParticipantTosfas says that christianity is not a’z as they follow their customs.
October 28, 2020 9:27 pm at 9:27 pm in reply to: Finding out who won the presidential election 2020 #1914641Reb EliezerParticipantShould be above, live up to your name.
Reb EliezerParticipantYechi Hamelech, go and worship your dead rebbi. My friend 71 just died from the virus. My son’s rebbi 59 died.

October 28, 2020 7:14 pm at 7:14 pm in reply to: New Conservative Supreme Court Supermajority #1914554Reb EliezerParticipantToi, maybe you are crazy. I formed my opinion because of Trump’s behavior. I don’t think you would want your children to learn from his constant lying and general character. He has contributed to tbe death of thousands by downplaying COVID-19. see why to vote for Trump being a melech kasha kehaman https://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/trump-winning. He thinks he knows everything better than anyone else by firing his best advisors when they disagree with him. This is not
Torah view.October 28, 2020 12:24 pm at 12:24 pm in reply to: New Conservative Supreme Court Supermajority #1914473Reb EliezerParticipantThe mother might be endangered when reversing Roe vs Wade.
Reb EliezerParticipanthealth, I think your fear of forcing to officiate at same gender marriage would violate the constitutiion of freedom of religion.
Reb EliezerParticipantSam Klein see what I said why Trump might be winning at https://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/trump-winning
Reb EliezerParticipantMortal, the letter says clearly that ‘character’ trumps everything (Israel, abortion and same gender) iimplying including Trump.
Reb EliezerParticipantRead tbe Open Letter on Rav Shafran’s website implying to vote for Biden signed by him and others including Rabbi Emanuel Feldman previous rabbi of Atlanta, GA author of Tales Out of Shul, a hilarious account of converting his conservative congregants to orthodoxy. He is around 93 years old shlita.
Reb EliezerParticipantcommon sachel, to comment on something it is good to read it. The letter says use Torah values, character, lealom jeheh adam, to vote which applies to any electiion anywhere.
Reb EliezerParticipantThis has nothing to do where he lived but it is about a smart revered Rav who has experienced life being 93 years old shlita recognizing what is right or wrong.
Reb EliezerParticipantDid you see the letter? The first signatue is from Rabbi Emanuel Feldman.
Reb EliezerParticipantOne of the undesigned on the above Open Letter is Rav Emanuel Feldman (1927) who was Rav in Atlanta, GA, the author of Tales Out of Shul. A hilarious story of his ability to bring conservative congregants to orthodoxy with his clever means.
Reb EliezerParticipantThe Democrats provide religious freedom not the Republicans because those being too religious require everyone to join their religion. It is not good for us when they are too religious.
Reb EliezerParticipantEveryone on this thread takes melech kasha kahaman literally but it is figurative by not caring enough about people’s suffering.
Reb EliezerParticipantBenephraim, your kashye is Tosfas Brochos (40,2) kashye saying that Avos is like Malchus.
Reb EliezerParticipantIt is not only a one person’s opinion but others also signed and what he writes makes sense, so it does not matter who writes it and from what party it comes from, where is your common sachel?
Reb EliezerParticipantDaas Yochid, did you look at the Radak? The umas haolam did bad to us, so tbey also might need teshuva together with us by seeing what happens to them.
