We can demonstrate wearing a hat with a mashel from the Dubner Magid. A king took in a young man and provided for him all his needs. The king had a favorite robe that he enjoyed wearing. Once they look around and both the young man and robe are missing. They find him hiding in a pit wearing the king’s favorite robe.
He says, I am hiding because after all the king has done for me, I am ashamed to show my face stealing the king’s robe. We want to cover our face being ashamed infront of Hashem for denying His good provided to us by stealing it from Him using it for the wrong purpose. This is the MB above O’CH 8,4 covering our face with a talis or a hat.

The Shaar Ephraim says to wear a hat when being olah laTorah.

The Dubner Magid explains the idea of maaser. There was a complaint that people should not be provided more than necessary for survival. So if a person gives the survival amount for maaser, he will be blessed by ten times the amount otherwise he is only provided that amount.

It is qouted in the Bnei Yisoschor that the 13 midos of Hashem go with the 13 midos of darush such that a kal vechomer goes with E’l. What is this kal vechomer? When we take out a Sefer Torah by mistake, we must roll it to the right place and NOT return it in order not to pogam (ashame) it, so how we must watch not to ashame a fellow Jew, who has a neshama, a chelek alokai mimaal.

The Chasam Sofer shows us the greatness of the neshama. The mishkan is the highest level of keshusha but its building does not push shabbos aside. However, the human being because of his neshama, to save him/her, does push shabbos aside.

There is a wonderous Ohr Hachaim Hakadash on Parshas Ki Siso quoted by the Mincha Chinuch (39,39) on veshomru that you can only save someone on shabbos, if laasos es hashabos, he can observe another shabbos. What about a chayei shaah? The minchas chinuch explains that he only says this when we know that shabbos is pushed aside to save a jew from this pasuk but if we go after Shmuel that this is derived fron vechai bohem velo sheyomus bohem that includes even a chayei shaah.

If we follow not doing anything for coronavirus, we end up like Sweden. The federal government is suppose to take leadership to have uniforn laws for all states otherwise one state infects another which was recommended by the health authorities. The US is worse than anywhere in the world except Sweden.

I have proof from the fact that the Beis Hilel allowed the Beis Shamai to make their view known before they revealed their view as an indicatiion of their humility. President Trump fired everyone of his great advisors including General Matis. If you sure about yourself, you are not afraid to hear an opposing view which might reveal your lack of knowledge. This only indicates an inferiority complex. None of the previous presidents behaved this way.

Our president Trump is a know at all who fires and isolates anyone disagreeing with him including Dr. Falci rather than wanting to hear their ideas. Therefore, he is responsible for the corona. A smart person knows what he doesn’t know and looks for the best advice.

n0mesorah. thanks, what you are saying is that Moshe Rabbenu is being commended by Hashem from his endeavor even though he had no choice but to drop it.

    Reb Eliezer

The Yerushalmi in Taanis says that the letters kept the luchas light to be able to carry. The letters flew off, so it became so heavy that Moshe Rabbenu could not carry it and he drop it. This seems to argue with the Bavli where Hashem commended him that he drop it. Maybe, there is a proof to the Yerushalmi. It is written as dropped from one hand but read as both hands. He was holding it in one hand but when it became heavy, he held it with both hands but it was too heavy to be able to hold it.

There iwas a question by rhe Maharam Shik by the reform movement, what comes first, peace or truth? It says to love truth (first) and then peace. However. I heard from the Meharal, that peace is the name of Hashem but truth is the stamp and the name comes before the stamp.

In SA O’CH 128,35 says the Mechaber that a Kohen who killed someone even beshogeg and did teshuva should not duchen. So Pinchas required permission to do the Avodah.

The Rav Abarbanel explains that Pinchas required the two rewards. Since he did not inherit the kehuna gedola as he was alive when his father Elozor became one, he had to be promised that his children will inherit it. Also, if one kills, the gaol hadom can revenge it, so he had to be protected.

Rashi explains that Pinchas deserves his just rewards. The Dubner Magid gives a mashel for Hakoras Hatov. There was a wholesaler who hired a young apprentice stipulating that he only gets room and board without a salary, Once, a retailer came on Purim in the middle of the sudah. The proprietor pushed him away telling him come tomorrow as we are in the middle of a sudah, The young man offered to help him. The wholesaler asked afterwards the young man, what do I owe you for your salary? Didn’t we agree that I don’t get paid just room and board, he asked. He told him, until now I thought that food is valuable to you but as you were willing to give it up for my business, I have to give you something that you will appreciate. The nimshal is, we are unable to thank Hashem enough for our healthy life without worries but Pinchas sacrificed his life for the name of Hashem, so he deserves a reward valuable to him.

The Sefer Maishv Davar (2,80) from the Netziv discusses what is considered holy to require burrial. He says that they should be sanctified for permanency. Therefore invitations and photocopies should not have to be burried as they are created for disposal after use and they should be able to be recycled separately.

See the Targum Yanoson in the beginning of Parashas Beshalach for not leading tne Bnei Yisroel tbe shorter way.

You know the Midrash that Hasatan is 364 as he has no control for one day.

The Maasei Hashem explains the connection of the selling of the birthrite to the request of the lentils. Yaakov Avinu knew what was told to his mother Rivkah. The elder will serve the younger. He said, if you want me to serve you by giving you lentils, I need to be the older.

There is a saying, let sleeping dogs lie. There is a pasuk in Mishlei (26,17) quoted by the Midrash Rabba (75,3) in indicating that yaakov Avinu should have never be concerned with Aisov and fight a battle that does not apply to him like grabbing on to a dogs ear that is running away. The Binah Leitim says that vayiro Yaakov meod vayetzer lo, Yaakov Vavinu had pain that he was afraid of Aisov in the first place.

The question is if we thank Hashem for what He gives us or who gives it to us. If a great individual gives a present, even the smallest anount is a appreciated. Similarly, Hashem judges the mitzvos we do on our level and not His what we are responsible towards Him.

The Kohanim are diligent. The closer we are to Hashem, the more we can accomplish. The rebbies daven for others. Aharon Hakohen was second to Moshe Rabbenu at Mount Sinai but Korach was out for himself and his argument being kohen gadol was illogical. He never explained what makes him better than anyone else. When a person has self interest, he does not lthink logically. The Ben Ish Chai says לא יקרחו קרחה בראשם do not tear in what is infront of you. Before כהן before ‘כ’ is ‘י’ and ‘ה’ is ‘ד’ and ‘ן’ is ‘מ’ making מיד diligence.
