in reply to: Great new singer out there what do you think of him! #924246

No , no relation as far as I know , and definetly different style, udi is israeli mizrachi while uri is a yeshivish chasuna singer in the tri state area

Alsso I think he was a big chior director in camp achim in the cAtzkills a few years ago as mentioned

in reply to: Great new singer out there what do you think of him! #924243

“Arguably, among many secular people the holiday has lost its religious meaning, and especially among “gay” community has become a celebration of an un-pious lifestyle, which hardly is a heter from our perspective.”

in reply to: R' Jonathan Sacks #832662

but putting down R Jonathan Saks is nothing short of lashon hara & motzi sheim ra

as far as that which someone quoted from wikipedia:

    1) first verify that it is true before posting

    2) besides, as I always say, stay out of the machloksim between gedolei ysroel. “gotta be a gaint to understand a giant, till then youre a midget”

in reply to: R' Jonathan Sacks #832661

The Late Chief Rabbi Immanuel Jakobovitz Zt”l was quite different on many regards in comparison to R Jonathan Saks

I think everyone would agree Chief Rabbi Jakobovitz Zt”l had more “right winged” veiws than of R Jonathan Saks

besides for being a massive talmid chacham and respected dayan.

just wanted to add to YW Moderator-42

Most People nowadays dont actually fast, although there are kehilos that still say the Mi Shebeirach on shabbos for those that do fast.

Also, the slichos is really only said in Yeshivos and kollelim ( I think, correct me if i am wrong)

and sefaradim dont have it at all.

And Yekkes start it later than the others,-about 2 weeks later- because they want the first monday to fall around Kristalnacht

my point was that the word ???? is derived from “petek” not “psak”

in reply to: Speling Mistake ?!?! #818839

    Ok Ok.

Last time i checked ” ???? ???” was spelled with a sof not a samech.

this was the front page of the news

use you head and stop maching leitonus with the psak of gedoilim

we are a na’aseh venishmna nation, not nishmah and then na’aseh

see the Gedoilim thread in CR for more details

speak to the gedoilim before speaking such a way in referance to such a psak

in reply to: Respecting Gedoilim #817686

ok so lets all stop talking and start doing….

so which gedoilim were matir the internet????

yes i am a hypocrite, im not gonna rationalize

in reply to: Respecting Gedoilim #817682

yashrus20- Kishmo kein hu, well said, its unfortunate the way gedolim are viewedin the world today, as a friend of mine once said, every week in the hamodia he finds a new rebbe ,

i think what you said was similar to what R Matisyahu recently said , that the reason why HKB”H let 3 gedloim be niftar in such a short period of time is becuase we would not heed their words anyways.

in reply to: Most Moving Jewish Song In Your View #1096984

couldn’t agree more that Dovid Gabay’s “Bein Ha’ulam” is a really beautiful song, the first time i heard it i was hooked , the words and the tune are both perfect, it just hits you right smack dead center, and i noticed most of the songs by that composer, r’ Hillel Palei are very very hartzig and good , including “kol haosek” on frieds bein kach, also “al tiksoif” sung by Shwekey on the best of the best vol 2 great song , does anyone know of more songs by this composer? I would love to hear them.

in reply to: What is the purpose of marriage? #698807

popa, how can u agree that SJS? thats so not the torahdike prespective, at least try for leshaim shomayiam, but to say its the most reasonable so far??

in reply to: Hashkofos & Apikorsos #699677

why was the nisayon of chana and her seven sons not a groise zechus for klal yisroel also ?

in reply to: What is the purpose of marriage? #698800

    SJSinNYC;

“I got married to have a closer relationship with my husband. Children are the outpouring of our love”

???… that is bichlal not a toradik perspective, u got married to have a closer relationship?? that sounds like you had shaychis before this (besides for dating) because in the torah wold we date to get married to just for fun like the goyim

and your second point, okay, so your admitting you were not leshaim shamyaim, but you make it sound like thats the only reason for their existence.

please correct me if i am wrong being that i AM the matziv chapper
