chillmaster, wow you sound like you didn’t have the awesomest dating experiences. lemme clarify your post. The 4 types of girls:

    1. shtark frum girl looking for long-term learner cuz that’s the only purpose in life

    2. spoiled brat looking for long-term learner cuz her parents will only support her if that’s what she marries

    3. A girl that values learning but doesn’t want to live like a pauper off government programs so she will want a guy that has a college education and will learn part-time

    4. A very frum girl who would only want a long-term learner but her parents are professionals so they only let boys with a college education.

Feif, “We really need to move back to the system of only the best and brightest sitting an learning full-time for most of their lives. Everyone else should be supporting their families, and learning whenever they have time.”

Agree with everything besides for the part about the best and brightest because G-d does not judge learning on expertise but rather on effort. Your words should say only those truly interested…

kiruvwife, I agree, I think they’re all pretty fair questions except these:

2)Did the family eat dinner together during the week or just on shabbos?

It doesn’t say anything about the family, most families that have grown children like my own, barely even see each other during the week. I’m in college at night, my brothers are in yeshiva…You can’t really judge a family by that

4)Do they live within their means?

No offense, but whose business is that? Like my relative used to drive by the boy’s house to see what the outside looked like and if they upkept the garden! Like hello who cares!!

    K straight from wikipedia:

    Does sound kinda like baseball

“A cricket match is contested by two teams, usually of eleven players each[5] and is played on a grass field in the centre of which is a flat strip of ground 22 yards (20 m) long called a pitch. A wicket, usually made of wood, is placed at each end of the pitch and used as a target.

Jothar, It’s totally true!!! In my brother’s school which is a well known yeshiva there is currently stories circulating about one rebbe, but my brother warned my father that if he would say anything and start a tumult, then my brother would never find a shidduch!!! Crazzzy!! My father said something anonomysly but unfortunately that’s what would happen!!

areivim, yea I know cuz that was always my father’s line. He said do what you want but I’m telling you it’s gona ruin your name in shidduchim. But of course I was a stupid teenager and said I don’t really care right now about shidduchim, but guess what? He was right and I’m paying the price. So as for moish, just talking from experience!!
