For all those who are Makpid in every word, I will rephrase.

    I want ….They want ….

I want a learning person … My parents want a college person… or I want a college person… and they want a learning person.

We find many times that singles and their parents are not looking for the same in a Shidduch. How is a single or their parents supposed to try and find a Shidduch if a Shaddchan calls a parent and the parent says that the single is looking for something else than what the single really wants?

Thank you all for posting on this Blog.

Firstly like all rules there are exceptions to the rule like to all rules.

I deal with many Shidduchim daily and have come across many Parents that won’t let me talk to their daughters about a Shiddcuh idea even though their daughters were/are 30 years or older.

Recently I spoke to a parent of a 29 year old single. She was looking for a Yeshiveshe Brisk Lakewood type of boy, must be afull time and long term learner, no divorced boy and so on. Mind you, She and her family wear Chasideshe Levush with a Shtraimel. I explained to him that there are no such guys around and asked to speak to his daughter to explain to her directly that she is looking for the almost impossible. He refused to put her on the phone.

    There are many such stories.

It’s in a way a family crises when you have parents that won’t let their children date because of their own Kovod, or not wanting to do a Shidduch with the other family, or for some other ridiculous reason.

To all parents out there who are guilty. STOP CAUSING YOUR CHILDREN’S SHIDDUCH CRISSES

The reason why the Torah says that you should check into a girls brothers before completing a Shidduch, is that being that they were raised in the same home chances are that they will have similar behavior(ism). However in todays world we are influenced by the outside world and we can’t judge a girl from what you see in her brothers…

Shidduch World is always trying to expand their database. We have ads in a few Newspaper and Banners on about 9 websites. If you have any other ideas of how we can expand our database and generate more trafic please let us know [email protected]

We are trying new ideas such as Facebook (you can find us under Shidduch Velt).

We just merged with another Shidduch group and hopefully that will bring us many more profiles. The more traffic the more Shidduchim.

One of the fetures of Shidduch World is that You can ask A Rav Doctor or Shadchan questions about Shidduchim. (without saying who you are)

    Question:

I’ve been wondering, if I wanted to go shopping for a dress, and I sent my sister to the store to find me one and she would come home every day with another dress, I think it would take an awfully long time for me to find what I like. Wouldn’t it be a better idea for me to go to the store and pick out myself what I like? Why is is that in shidduchim we are constantly relying on other people to set us up with someone? Why isn’t it possible for girls/boys to access info about girls/boys themselves and pick who they think would be a good candidate. You will more likely like someone you picked out than someone a third party picked out for you. Please answer.

Our Answer:I’m glad you figured out what shidduch world is all about. Sign up and help yourself.

    What is your answer?

in reply to: Shidduch World #1013843

    To samzyr

Thank you for bringing our topic back to where it has to be. At Shidduch World we offer an opportunity for singles to browse through profiles without having a Shaddchan push them into something they are not interested in listening to or hearing about. You are the one who is finding your own Shidduch in a very Kosher and Tzniusdike way.

By knowing that the staff at Shidduch World screen every profile before posting it on their (Shidduch World) website, that should give you the security to know that you are dealing with a frum crowd only. Also by knowing that you won’t have a single contact you without going through a Shaddchan for the first date, you can then feel that you are the one in charge of choosing a zivug that you feel appropriate for yourself.

in reply to: Where are all the Boys? #670004

    youdontknowme

The reason we don’t post about the option of becoming a Shaddchan is so that we don’t have people applying just for their curiosity. We are careful to respect our profiles confidentiality. We do have legitimate Shaddchanim working with the profiles on our site.

In regard to other websites if you look better into the questions we ask you will see that we are targeting a very frum crowd. We don’t have questions such as if you plan to cover your hair or if the boys Daven 3 times a day. All websites that help Shidduchim are great and they should all be looked at in a positive way. We all have one goal in common, to help out all those seeking to find their zivug.

in reply to: Where are all the Boys? #670002

To all those that inquired about Shidduch World

We do have Shaddchanim that work on our data base. However, in order to become a Shaddchan for our site, Shidduch World, you must submit to us the names of at leat two or three Shidduchim you have completed. We also require references that know the Shaddchan applying, (such as a Rov) that can testify for them that they will keep everthing confidential. The shaddchan also has to commit to work a minimum amount of hours a week, even though they are just volunteers. After Shidduch World’s staff has approved the shaddchan he/she must sign a confidentiality agreement and submit a log of Shidduchim that they worked with or tried on a monthly basis. This is to ensure that the site is not being used for ones curiosity.

We are working on getting more Shaddchanim to work with our site, however many do not qulify for various reasons.

In regard to happy girls question as to what makes Shidduch World different then SYAS: No single on Shidduch Worlds site can contact another single without going through a Shaddchan ( at least before the first date or two) unlike other websites that singles can meet, chat, and or date without going through a Shaddchan. We go through each persons profile individually, at Shidduch World, in order to assure that our site is appropriate and fit to be called a “FRUM ONLY WEBSITE”.

    Thanks for asking,

As one who is intimately involved in the frum Shidduch scene, we are pleased to inform you of a new resource being launched to assist in the Shidduch process for our community. As you surely know, the burgeoning growth of our families bli ayin horah, along with the growing diversity of our community, has made the Shidduch process today, perhaps more challenging then ever before.

While the media focus on this subject has brought about an increased awareness of the issue, it seems that the only real solution to this problem is to create new approaches and venues for accessibility to the growing number of frum singles. Particularly, singles with limited connection or exposure to the broader communal infrastructure.

The proliferation of internet usage has brought about a host of matchmaking websites, many of them ostensibly geared toward the Orthodox community. Yet these websites really do not serve the needs of our circles. As a community, we recognize the inappropriateness of bochurim and Bais Yaakov girls scanning through pictures on a website in search of their basherte. We are in no way prepared to do away with the time-honored approach of consummating our shidduchim through a Shadchan. Nor are we willing to, in any way, compromise on our community’s standards of tznius and discretion within this process.

Yet, the internet is an immensely powerful tool, which can be used to help mitigate the challenge of shidduchim in unprecedented way.

It is with this in mind that ShidduchWorld.org was launched by a group of dedicated volunteers. The mission of Shidduch World is not to revolutionize or change the process of shidduchim in any way.Rather, our goal to harness the power of the web to create a database resource through which singles and Shadchanim would gain access to each other in an expedient and effective manner.

With the guidance of Gedolim and Rabbonim, we have created a website where singles can upload their profiles, which would include a basic description of themselves and their background including their Shul affiliation and personal rabbinic contact. Profiles of our listed singles would then be accessible and searchable, without names or photos, so that other singles would view potential shidduchim in the database based upon compatibility factors alone. Shidduch World will feature a staff of Shadchanim available to carry through Shidduchim upon request. Shidduch World’s Shadchanim would also consistently work on shidduchim for the singles in our database based upon their preferences and listed profiles.

The effectiveness of such a database cannot be overestimated, and has earned the wholehearted support of leading gedolim and rabbonim. The site also features options for hiring a personal Shadchan, as well as for posting one’s name for Tefillah and for asking questions anonymously from our affiliated Shadchanim, Rabbonim and Doctors.

We are reaching out you and others who can assist us in building the Shidduch World database. By compiling a list of singles and their profiles and submitting it to us (with the single’s permission, of course) you can assist us in the creation of this vital resource. We have also attached a convenient letter, which you can forward to your list of singles and their families, urging them to join in this project.

Please visit our site at http://www.shidduchworld.org for a more detailed description of this service and for information on how Shadchanim would maintain access to our database.

For any further questions, please feel free to contact us at [email protected]. We look forward to your assistance and we thank you in advance for your time.

In this zechus, may be blessed from Shomayim with a Happy Chanuka for your entire family; a year filled with nachas and hatzlacha in all endeavors.

Thanks cholentkugelkishke for clarifying that the goal of the site is to help people in Shidduchim and not to take your money. I am not marketing for money. I spent close to $18,000.00 to build this site because I realized that there aren’t enough Shaddchanim to help that many singles looking for their Bashert, and by opening a website singles can find a suitable match. Harav Shmuel Kaminetsky Shlita looked thru the script of my site and encouraged me to create this website.

Hire A Shaddchan is a way to give Shaddchanim the incentive to work on a singles behalf. I am the owner of the site, and did not hire myself out as a Shaddchan. If you feel that everything comes to you and you want Shaddchanim to work for free, you have that choice. Please feel free to use our website for your benefit. There is no charge to register or to search for yourself.

    We have many success stories.

To all those inquiring about hire a shadchan, please realize that it’s is NOT the goal of the website! The main part is our SEARCHABLE DATABASE where singles can look for suitable shidduchim ON THEIR OWN, at no charge.

Hiring a shadchan is a side service for those interested.

It is not a typo. ShidduchWorld doesn’t charge for using the basic service of the website such as uploading a profile and requesting information of other profiles that would be suitable for you. Btw, no other Jewish website has this service at no charge.

The goal of the website is not “hire a shaddcan” . The goal is to enable people to spend their time searching for their zivug instead of waiting for a shadchan to work for them.

In regards to “hire a shadchan”, perhaps you should think about how many hours are put into a shidduch – getting it off the ground, date after date on the phone with both sides and working with them until after 8 dates!!! ( & many times doesn’t even end up working!!) I think that shaddchanim work endless hours for free. By hiring your personal shadchen, you are getting a professional to work for you, without feeling that you are overburdening already overworked shadchonim who have hundreds of other singles whom they are working for.

This is a service that is being offered. No one is forced to use it. The many other services offered by ShidduchWorld are all free of charge, and nobody is getting rich off it!
