the amazing thing about abie Rotenberg is that his songs are amazing both as stand alone nice music to listen to, and as deep thought provoking songs as well. his music has the ability to uplift ones spirit and to bring one closer to hashem.

regarding the poster who wanted to know about dreams come true, it is a diaspora song that was composed by abie for them

regarding the OP , I think that they both are similar in that they are very versatile in their music. they both do happy, sad , deep , and exhilarating music well. countr Yossi is also underrated for the work he did with ohr chodosh ( remember eileh borechev?) not just as a song parodist ( forgive me oh comlink -x, grammarian of the CR, if that is not a real word)

anything from dveikus , especially racheim bechasdecha, poseiach es yodecha, and ani maamin. abie rotenberg has a soul for hartzig music that brings you closer to hashem. when you listen to his songs , it’s more important to listen to the contemplative space between the notes. the spaces , like the white fire of the sefer torah , are the real song . the notes are just the medium in which the contemplative spaces find expression

i don’t understand , from what i assume the reason my previous post wasn’t posted was either 1) length or 2) copyright, although i’ve seen longer posts and I dont think that copyright was an issue since i attributed it to it’s author . this is neither . i am not sure if you are trying to insinuate that i am purposely trying to force in inappropriate threads or if you have a more innocuous meaning

but does anyone think there’s anything inherently wrong with having a female Rav? If so, what? Why can’t a woman speak Torah from the bimah? Personally, this reminds me of Jackie Robinson and baseball. At first everyone said black people would ruin baseball, but then everyone just shrugged and accepted it.

yeah, i do,and so does halacha. but since female rabanim aren’t the reason for the kol korei , but the unfortunate slide of a group into apikorsus.

It can be taken different ways by different people and some might take this as interference in their internal affairs. People are assuming that places that would consider hiring a YCT clergyperson would obey the Moetzes after such a decree, which in most if not all circumstances is not the case.

the point is not if they will obey the moetzes or not, it’s that now this was brought out to the forefront, while beforehand shuls looking for a rabbi would not even think twice about an OO grad, now they will think twice and perhaps analyze the hashkafic ideals of the rabbi

A YU Simcha is more comprehensive than most, I have friends who went there. Not only do they teach public speaking, they teach them psychology and other skills needed to council people

not trying to nitpick, but since when does public speaking and psychology make a smicha more comprehensive? do you mean it makes them a better rabbi? thats possible

skirpka: I hope you were being sarcastic. Regardless of what each of us holds, we are all yidden and required to look out for one another and not push anyone away. Who are we to judge? It is all up to Hashem.

with all due respect mr. flatbusher , if you read what i wrote i never wrote that we are pushing people away. i wrote that we have to push the ideology away. every individual yid is precious and we don’t push them away, any one of them who wants to come back to torah true yidishkeit there is place for them, any . but we need to take a strong stance against kfira and the group should not be able to spread their poisoned tentacles into normative torah true yidishkeit. and in regards to the kol korei, while to you it may seem trivial and unneeded, for the small town shul that is wavering between a torah true rav or a YCT grad, hits statement will hopefully save that shul from spiritual suicide

Denouncing other people is not a way to create Achdus

thats the point. we dont want achdus with apikorsim. we push them away. their ideology is poison to yidishkeit. if individual members want to do tshuva and come back to torah true Judaism , we will have achdus and take them back with open arms. but the actual group? no way! we push them as far as possible! no achdus with people who deny basic tenets of judaism
