About 55,000 jews were killed in the Vilna Ghetto

There were about 220,000 Jews in Lithuania in 1940, about 200,000 of them were killed

Rav Chaim Ozer told the jews of Poland to go to Vilna after the invasion of Poland, but before the invasion of Lithuania.

Lithuania was not part of Poland or the Soviet Union before WW II. It was independent between the wars (As was Latvia and Estonia)

The Chashmonean were punsihed because they took the Kahuna (Relgious) mantle and the political mantle (The Kingship)

One of the greatest Gedolim of the previous generation Rav Chaim Ozer told the jews from Poland to come to Vilna because it was safe there.

Besides, modern orthodoxy is unsustainable. It essentially is the cultural aspects of Judaism without the heart which almost forces one to choose one way or the other.

Differnt forms of orthodoxy are for different people. Some people just cannot handle the Yeshivish/Kollel Lifestyle , Some cannot handle the Chassidic lifestyle and some cannot handle the Modern Lifestyle.

Everyone is different and has different needs. Some people need chumras and love them and some get overwhelmed by them and go off because its too much for them.

Not everyone can get married at 19 and have 14 kids , not everyone can sit and learn 15 hours a day and not everyone can go into the outside world and work with all kinds of people including those who life lifestyles your abhor without making comments.

Outsider, they are not talking here about a Shul. they are talking about the community as a whole.

If a commumnity has several shuls, it doesnt matter there is still one community

OP you might want to consider a more modern community that is more open to BT’s and those not so relgious. Many more modern shuls especially out of town have a “Dont ask , Dont tell Policy” at least at first.

Many Chabad houses out of town also have this policy as well

These were not photos, they were watercolors and the artist just painted people as he saw them in general and the first watercolor was not of a funeral, but rather someone sick in bed (It was supposed to be his deathbed).

Artists dont always have models (These were not meant to be masterpieces) . I would have loved to have taken of picture of these watercolors as I was fascinated by them, but it wasnt allowed 🙁

    Its amazing they have survived.

Just because the Torah allows something doesnt mean we have a Taavah for it.

The Torah allows the eating of certain kinds of Locusts. Assuming you hold by those who say they know which locusts they are, I dont think you are running out to eat one, Most people are repulsed by the though of eating a locuts and most people are repulsed by their cousin, most people consider it incest which they are repulsed from.

In Prague the building from before the war are still there as are the treasures. In the Chevra Kadisha building there is series of watercolors explaining a jewish funeral in pictures from the 1700’s.

The picture show people surrounding the death bed, Tahara, Burial, the mourning crying and the mourning sitting shiva. Basically what a burial looked like in the 18th century Prague.

NONE of the people in the watercolors are wearing strimels or Beckashers and many didnt even have beards

FYI Its not wrong to Judge God

The Piaseczno Rebbe) lived near the exit to the Warsaw Ghetto. he saw the deportations daily to Treblinka (His only son was killed during the bombings of Warsaw) and he began to quesion god for this. he put god on trial and found him guilty.

I did not ask a general question because I wanted to know. I asked because it was impertive to my parnassah. I happen to know some Chashuv people (Not MO Chashuv either) who know exactly what I do and how I make my income. I do not wish to say who I asked because it might give away part of my identity.

It is possible on Amazon and ebay for vacation settings., However on eBay even with vacation settings a sale could still take place especially if you write you will be returning from vacation tommorrow (Meaning Sunday) . On Amazon there is an option to send your inventory to Amazon where they warehouse the item, Sell it for you and ship it for you. There is no way to shut that off. Once Amazon has the item in their possession they will ship as needed. You get alot more sales that way so its nessasary to do so in order to make sales.

Perhaps the Rabbi from the Business Halachic institute was talking about a general website as opposed to eBay and Amazon where it works differently and its not really possible to shut down for 25 hours.

Amazon does not give you the money until you ship the item.

Paypal its mixed depending on your sales history, Newer sellers Paypal will hold the money for up to 21 days, but for experienced sellers you get the money right away, but they do have the right to take it away (as has happend to me on more than one occasion)

This exact issue was an issue for me and I asked already a Posek as this is part of my income.

Instead of trolling during the Asseres Yemei Teshuva , why didnt you ask a Rav yourself. He would have told you a Halachic Sale is where Money is exchanged and a Buyer received an item (Sorry if I forgot the exact Hebrew words).

In an online sale the buyer did pay for the item, but he did not recive the Item.

in reply to: Selling online on Shabbos/Yom Tov #973532

Its not a problem because its Halachcally not a sale. While you did get the money, the buyer did not get the Item so its not a halachic sale.

B&H does shut down their website for shabbos and Yom tov.

I hope you don’t mean Historical chronicles since most Historians take any particular nations historical chronicles with a healthy dose of skepticism since al Nations (except the Jews) were in the habit of recording their good things and twisting their defeats and losses into victories and benefits.

The Gemorah states that Nero left Rome and converted to Judaism and was an ancestor of Rebbe. This account of Nero was not recorded anywhere else and its generally accepted that Nero was either killed or committed suicide. In any case he had no known decendents and if he did they would have been killed as they were their rightful air to the Roman Emperor

Hillel the Second calculated the Solar year to be 365 days 5 hours and 55 Mins, the actual amount is 365 days 5 hours and 49 mins.

Every year 6 mins are added to the year and over 1700 years almost 2 weeks have been added to the calender.

Tefukat Tisheri (First day of Fall) is supposed to be Oct 4, but its actually Sept 21

Tekufat Nissian (First Day of Spring) is supposed to be April 4, but its actually March 21. Causing in some years Pesech to fall out in Winter

I cant tell you about Monsey, but in NYC itself there is a law about owning farm animals without a permit.

And it doesnt matter if its private property or not, You are not allowed to slaughter animals on private property in NYC, there are sanitatary issues that occur no matter where the slaughter occurs, thats why they have these laws.
