If you see old videos of the Kotel Plaza, there was another Quarter called the Morroccan Quarter which severly limited access to the kotel. This quarter was knocked down to make the present plaza.

Most times today the Kotel plaza is packed, there is no way they could have handled the crowds with that quarter still present

The definition of “Basic living expenses” is flawed. You cannot define that

Some people are happy with a 20 year old chevy with more dents than miles and others need a newer reliable car not subject to break down

Some people might be happy living with 6 kids in a 2 bedroom apartment and others need more space

It might actually be cheaper to go to China than Israel. Ive seen 7 day trip to China for under $1000 including airfare , hotel and taking you around china

Israel you are lucky if you can get an airfare for less than $1000 unless you are willing to fly via Ukraine or Azerbajan and the hotels are expensive too

Part of the intermarriage rate includes people who married a jew and their second or third marriage is not to a jew

    zahavasdad
    Participant

The question was Halachically jewish, not what they are actually raised as.

Someone born of a jewish mother but raised as a christian is still a jew, but someone born of a jewish father (non-jewish mother) raised as a jew is still a non-jew

    zahavasdad

Just because there is an intermarriage doesnt mean the children arent Halachically jewish. If we assume that both men and woman equally intermarry, then the children where the woman is jewish are jewish even though its an intermarriage

There are several things that could happen

The software could simply cease to work, the software could stop updating itself

or it could brick the entire device. With Net Nanny it would probaby stop updating and maybe disable itself however the VCF which is a device manager it could brick the device, someone could also just hack the VCF server and your device is bricked as well

On the Tag Website, the following were not free

Net Nanny is $9-$12 a month depending on the number of Devices

VCF for Android is $12.95 a month, this one seems to be a Device manager type and not just a normal filter

We need to know the name of the filter that costs $60. Its pointless to speculate if it is one that costs per month or the OP was charged $60 for a free app or the App really costed $60

Apple monitors apps more than google does, but both are worried about rouge apps making it into the App store. A rouge app can hijack a phone or steal your personal data. rooting or jailbreaking your phone makes your phone more vulnerable to rouge apps

Just to translate for some when I use the term App store, i am referring to Itunes store for Apple and google play for Android

Apple makes profit off ever itunes purchase, Google does not. Apple is alot more strict about Jailbreaking than Google is over rooting.

I did a check check on the google play store , And there is a filter called Web Blocker pro and it warns you, that it is going to root the phone

If the filter is not on the App store, it should not be used, Any App not in the App store is not approved by Apple or Google. Improper use of such apps can brick the phone. there is a term for phones that. its called Jailbreaking for an iphone or Rooting for an Android.

Back to the OP for a sec. She said Tag wanted $60 to install the filer

How much of this was the cost for the filter and how much was “profit”

I dont know any filter that costs $60, they are alot cheaper than that , mostly even free

By your comment why not charge $100 lb for meat since there is more tzar and therefore greater Zchus.

I know of a few Jewish schools that charge alot less because they are competing with Public schools, I dont know if they will ultimatly be successful, but at least they are trying

The governments who call themselves jewish, fund and endorse the preservation of churches, which are avodah zorah 100 percent.

Many of the churches are owned by someone else especially the Armenian church who owns alot of the land in israel (and interesting enough the land where the Knesset is built on)

The christian tourists provide alot of jobs, like it or not, its needed income especially for Jerusalem which is a poor city and not many economic opportunities outside of tourism (Tel Aviv has alot more economic opportunity)

In many communities people dont care about the price of Kosher food, they will pay whatever the price is. I am not talking to those people.

And it some cases the Extra hashghca is just Lmamon and nothing else, there is no reason other than greed to have 2 or more hashghchas at a restaurant

However there are people more on the frindge who make decsions based on price. You can decide which is better to have a higher cost of food vs more people keeping a Mitzvah.

Dont kid yourself the high cost of being frum is a major problem and if not solved will not have a good ending. I am already seeing some negative feedback about yeshiva tutions that people are asked to pay that they cant possibly afford (you cant pay $60,000 in tutions on a $50,000 salaray)

Do you eat treif bec kosher is more expensive. Maybe kosher food should be free so that no one is tempted to buy treif food?

There are some chabad emissaries in outposts who sell kosher food below cost because they dont want people to eat treif. I think one of the places is Bangkok. They know if the price is too high people wont buy from them and will go elsewhere

okay,I don’t know which mike they use on Shabbos. but the whole community carries on Shabbos without an eiruv, and at one of the shul’s social events the baal hamachshir (a women rabbi) told the hall manager that he only has to leave the ovens unused a half hour before “kashering”

this is Slander as there are not current MO women Rabbis at this time (OO is NOT MO)

YU is legally not MO, they are legally non-sectarian because of some government funding that only places that obey NY state laws about discrimation. Because certain people are considered minorites and illegal to discriamte against, YU had to obey the law or lose this funding which was significant and would have hurt many students as they use government funding to pay for school

The latest scams with phones hijack your phones by using device manager, the disable your phones and then demand alot of money to allow the phone to be used again. Many people use their phones to pay for stuff. The hijackers can actually deplete your bank account when they hijack your phones.

The latest filters do not use proxy servers which can be overidden in various ways, but rather use the device manager method which cannot easily be overidden. Someone could hack and take over hundreds if not thousands of phones and have access to bank accounts, phones #’s and other vital personal information

The dentist was within the law at the time, however the law has been changed.the US has the right to limit your passport use and ban certain activities done in a foriegn country that is abhorent in this country. Certain kinds of tourism are banned from going to Thailand for even though its legal there. US citizens on a US passport cannot do them.

They changed to law to ban travel for certain kinds of hunting

As a side note, bullfights are falling into disfavor, they are already banned in Catalon, Spain (Barcelona) and only surivive in other parts of Spain because the government subidizes it for the tourists. Both the locals and most of the tourists find it barbaric so its likely the subsidies will end eventually

I am not even talking about hunting for sport. I am talking about hunting for the thrill of killing an animal

Hunting for sport is tracking an animal for 2-3 days living on the land and then killing the animal

Hunting for the thrill is putting a GPS transmitter on the animal so you know exactly where it is and then killing it in a few hours .

The dentist did the latter, not the former

The lion was not hunting for food, It wasnt even hunting for sport. It was hunting for the thrill of killing a lion.

Its one thing to go into the woods and hunt a deer and eat it, the lion was basically going into a cage and shooting it as the lion was basically trapped and couldnt escape
