You obviously missed the point, the Bans are useless. technology is moving ahead whether you like it or not. Did you know the Chofetz CHaim would learn by candlelight and refused to learn by electric light. I dont see anyone advocate doing that.

You have to learn to live with these things. We are not going back to a life of Subsitance Farming ,riding Donkeys , and sending messages by Horses.

Any technological advance has good and bad and Ive heard people call a smart phone “Avodah Zarah”.

I used the phone and printing press to show devices that are accepted that have caused much damage. It was the printed word that allowed Kefira to be spread. No filter prevented this Kefira from being printed. So you ban WhatsApp, people can just go back to the phone and talk Loshon Harah. If someone wants to do an Averiah they will find a way. No bans are going to stop them

For the record I do not use Whats Up, but my point is any technology has good and bad and banning it really is silly because people who want to do things against the torah will find another way to do it

Is Whats App easier to spread Loshon Hara than a Telephone, Probably very similar

is the majority of people speaking on the phone learning torah/Chessed or Business, or does it involved Loshon Harah, Nivel Peh , abizraya di’Arayos

And which group do you think is bigger?

is the majority of Printed Materials Torah related or Kefirah, Prizus nasrishkeit and other things

Which do you think is bigger?

The Nazis invaded Europe and killed people while Learning Torah.

Many times Torah alone does not protect.

There are issues with almost anything

I think automobiles cause more accidental deaths than anything else. Should we avoid the car because many people get killed each year

Should we ban the Telephone because of all the Lashon Harah spoken on it?

Should we ban the Printing Press because of all the Prizus and Kefirah because of it. The Hashkalah would never have occured without the printing press

You have asked these kinds of questions before. I am not chassidic, however I am not sure its totally appropriate to contact a chassidic rebbe you are not affiliated with. The exception might be the Boston Rebbe and a few others, but most arent in the category

The charedim will be forced to get jobs

If you are 50% of the population you cannot expect the other 50% to pay for your lifestyle, they will balk and if you try to force them and they cannot change the laws, they will leave making even more of a aid based society

Sorry but that is really bad advice. You NEVER call a stranger. You need to go to people who are vetted a little bit. Unfortunatly just because someone is an orthodox jew, doesnt mean its appropirate for someone to go to their house if you dont know them

It doesnt matter why the conversion occured. if the Gador Hador says something you can belive it especially since he flew to Brooklyn to do so which is a major undertaking. Many Gedolim will not leave Israel.

There was a convert who converted in israel, Rav Ovadiah Yosef the Gadol hador for Sephardim flew to Brooklyn to vouch for her and they still would not let her marry in.

(It almost did create a schism because many did not want to disobey the Gadol Hador especially since he flew to Brooklyn to speak to the leaders)

Finally he went to an agent who knew that Flat meant apartment in english, but he told the Brit. that he had flats available, but that he had to paid for them, they were not free

I have spent many shabbos tables at people who are not like me and it really depends on the host if I am comfortable or not. If the host only discusses Kedoshim it really doesnt work, but if the host will discuss other topics that they think I might be interested in there is no problem

Parks their car in a “Car Park” instead of a “Parking Lot”. What is a “Car Park” anyway..A Park full of Cars

And rides a train that tells everyone to “Mind the Gap ” instead of telling them to “Watch their step”

And take a “Lift” instead of an elevator. A “LIft” is a verb not a noun

If your daughter was redt two otherwise equal guys for a shidduch, one was a black ger born in Nigeria (now living in the US) and the other was Jewish born in the US with a long line of documented yichus from both sides directly back to Rashi and the gedolim in the doros since. The American for whatever reason won’t be available for dating for a week after the Nigerian is available for dating, but other than the aforementioned both are equally good boys and a match for your daughter.

I belive the son or grandson of Moshe Rabbeneu was a Rasha and the Sons of Korach were Tzdekim and the decendents of Haman became the head of the Sandedrin. And a decendent of the Baal Shem tov has been in the news lately for a “Change” in their life. Yichus can be overrated

I suspect the takana was not because of dating but because of the danger of performing conversions. A muslim who converts to Judaism is subject to the death penalty (As was christians during the Middle Ages) Rabbis did not perform conversions except in the Netherlands because they could get killed

Is the place the Rav’s shul or is he just an employee.

If he is just an employee of the Shul’s board, he might actually be a bit powerless and the person who was rude to you might actually be a macher who is more powerful than the Rabbi. and he is actually quite powerless

If the shul is the Rav’s shul then you should write the letter

I dont think the syrians prohibited marrying Gerim, the prohibitted themselves from making gerim, but they accept them from other communities.

If you go to the Syrian community in Brooklyn asking about conversion they will tell you they dont do it, but they will tell you where to go

Google Red Star Line Museum in Antwerp

It was a fascinating museum and I found out some family history when I was there. I had family members who had gone through Antwerp and this museum (It wasnt a museum, it was the ships docking) they turned it into a museum.

If anyone here ever gets to Antwerp you should certainly visit this museum

I know for many chassidim preserving their look is extremely important. I mean they have been wearing the same clothing for literally hundreds of years. I would think this to mean they would want to preserve the color of their offspring as well.

Chabad is very different than other chassidim. The Lubavicher Rebbe was much more modern thinking than others. He embraced many of the newer things in order to spread the word of hashem.
