Committee officials to disqualify candidates who during recent months visiting countries not maintaining diplomatic relations with Israel, such as Lebanon and Syria.

The move comes after the Basic Law was amended by Knesset to prohibit such visits, but one MK at least, Dr. Ahmed Tibi, regularly makes such visits and shuns the law of the land in favor of continuing with his agenda.

Other Arab MKs who made visits to hostile Arab countries in the past seven years, the time period specified in the amended law, include; MKs Talab El-Sana, Jamal Zahalka, Said Naffaa, and Wasil Taha.
