never heard of calling aunts or uncles before yom tov. I usually email some of them but some are so not involved in the family and so out of it that i dont think calling them would change anything.
try shopping when there arent so many people there. maybe he’s jealous that you can buy anything you want and he has this annoying wife who watches his weight for him! lol

I dont think its meant to be fun but its nice and amazing to think that there are so many jews sleeping on their porches because thousands of years ago your great grandfathers were protected with clouds! and you can move a bed into the sukka its no big deal. why dont you try that? my father has one in the sukkah!

i think you should tell your children that hes not a well person. you might think they dont understand what you are saying (and you are prob right) but they will get the picture that he’s not your typical and its not ok to talk this way to a parent

its funny cause when my mother grew up there was a rule in her house that they are not allowed to taste any food until it came time for the meal. it bothered her so much that she said in her home we can eat everything and anything before yom tov!

why cant you tell your children some of the situation. explain that this man is unfortunately not emotionally ok and that this is the only reason why he can talk this way even though its not ok for them. paint him as a nebach in their eyes and they will pity him instead of try to copy him

Its freaky that just the other day I was thinking about your other thread but it was closed so I couldn’t post. does your sister know anything about this? why are you going there all YOM TOV? do you have anyone else to split it up with? being the girl here, I really think that she might just be feeling a little claustrophobic….as guys can sometimes do that by mistake.
I think this years is closer to home being that these are things that just happened. i watched both and they are both wonderful.
