Rav Akiva Eiger holds it isn ‘t a “chumra”, but rather ikur halacha.

He is innocent. Therefore he took the stand. The guilty are afraid to testify in their own defense.

I’ve heard multiple Roshei Yeshivos and talmidim from completely different backgrounds (litvish, chasidish, etc.) say Gut Erev Shabbos rather than Gut Shabbos.

The conversion is never “invalidated”. Not now and not ever. What can be, and sometimes is, done is a determination is made that the geirus was never valid in the first place (despite the mikva and the entire process) since the prospective convert was never sincere despite his assurances or statements or he held heretical beliefs all along through the purported conversion. Thus he was never a Jew in the first place.

Wolf: Under NYS statues, it is legal for private schools to use corporal punishment. It is legal in 48 out of 50 U.S. States. What you cited is not a statue and is not law.

Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany were also established and growing for a while. Was obviously Hashem’s will. And Jews participated too. Didn’t mean acceptance.

A non-Jewish court, using very flawed and non-halachic testimony, standards of evidence and rules of conviction is virtually meaningless and a guilty verdict there has no meaning.

Literally every day cases of convicts who served long years in prison — including in many cases on death row — are determined they were completely innocent and finally freed. How many more truly innocent are never exonerated we’ll never know. In such a highly flawed and destructive justice system you place your blind faith??? The very same system where the truly guilty — OJ Simpson, Lemrick Nelson, et al — are allowed to walk scot free.

What is the difference, other than one of terminology, whether or not Og had male children? Legally the Bnei Og (if they exist) would be of the same status as the Bnei Noach. Thus the question is irrelevant from a practical standpoint. It is, at most, only theoretical.

    Syag: Thank you.

WIY: Today’s rebbeim and teachers very much do love their talmidim/students as much as yesterday’s generation. I disagree with all your points. It is entirely appropriate and indeed commendable for a teacher to impart this type of affection to a child today.

Rav Eliashev paskened that if someone underwent the geirus process all the while believing that the world is over 6,000 years old, that the conversion was never valid and he remains a gentile.

If someone undergoes conversion intending to fully keep 612 mitzvos with all the chumros but there is one mitzvah he intends to not maintain, his so-called coversion was never valid and he remains a gentile.

A husband by general Jewish law is not required to divorce his wife if he does not want to unless he misbehaved in a specific way against the Torah that gives his wife legally justified cause to demand a divorce in beis din. In the absence of such cause, he may decline to give a requested divorce.

I know that Chasidishe women everywhere and Chareidi (including Litvish) women in Eretz Yisroel do not drive. But even though that is the rule among all the major groups, are there exceptions? Are there a few Chasidisus or Chareidishe kehillos that do permit some or all of their women to drive?

Also, is there a tznius or other prohibition for a woman to sit in the front passenger seat of a car being driven by a non-relative male? What if she is married (to someone else)?

Shulchan Aruch does not differentiate between yichud with a unmarried woman than yichud with a married woman. And yichud with a married woman is significantly worse. It is forbidden to have yichud with a married woman even if the husband is in town.

These are one on one private sessions behind closed doors that last for about an hour without anyone but the two of them together alone.

You can only imagine what can occur when a man and a girl are in that situation. Often what actually happens behind those closed doors are worse than what you can imagine.

Which is why rabbonim prohibit or frown on such “sessions”.

Nationality is not determined by where a person is born. If an American is visiting Beijing and she goes into labor and delivers her baby there, the child is American not Chinese.
