Syag, why is it not a practiced skill because they are not being taught, spoon fed as Artscroll spoon feeds the gemora and therefore most people cannot learn on their own. Respect is also something to be desired.

I went to chassidishe yeshivas learning Torah studies in Yiddish. We learned English vocabulary, grammar and spelling, taking the Regents and gaining an academic high school diploma.

100% without any question. My son was diagnosed as such and the first grade teacher said that he will have problems as the schools don’t cater to creative individuals. He finished college in three years.

Isn’t the reason obvious why not to take gifts by being subjugated as it says שונא מתנות יחיה one who hates gifts lives long? The Maasei Hashem explains the passage in the Haggadah משועבדים הינו with thanks.

The Ksav Sofer has an interesting explanation for Avraham returning to the motel to pay off his dues. He was constantly badgered, if you are such a tzadik why are you not rich? He owed them an answer, so when he became rich, he returned with an answer.

As Biden inherited this behavior is he responsible? The Chachamim said מטלטלין דיתמי לבעל חוב לא משתעבדי the orphans are not responsible for the loans left over from the father when it comes to movable objects except for a written loan or field which were already designated before inheritance.

The Chasam Sofer said that we must respect our leaders. He proofs this from Eliyahu Hanovi who ran after Achav, a rasha, for respect. There is a teshuva about man and women singing together for the honor of the king. He said that a benevolent king who knows that this behavior is against our halacha will not ask that from us.

GH, well put. They are at the water fountain and drink the way
they (WYN) want and as much as they want and we can’t stop them. It shows that they are biased and thereby making the news less credible, if not for AP.

AAQ, we cannot show respect with what we don’t have. In English this is the way of respect. If everything is shown in capital letters or small letters, no respect is shown.
When I wrote a teshuva for multiple people separately, I used the RMA’s title designation:
    שו”ת הרמ”א סימן א
לקדם רבותינו שבבריסק, כל אחד יתברך ויתרומם לפי מעלת מדרגתו, שלום
I am European where respect was shown and not like in America were everyone is called by there first name or by ‘you’. We as children in Hungary greeted the elderly with kezit csokolom, I kiss your hand.
Calling myself Reb Eliezer is a lesson for all and having great rebbies as the Mattisdorfer Rav ztz’l, father and son, I consider myself a talmid (mei) chacham. Standing up for the elderly (in a bus) is something from the past or opening a door for someone. When there is no respect for the elderly, it is time for Meshiach.

Anonymous, with all due respect, stay anonymous as you don’t know what you are talking about. Tiferes Yonasan is from Rav Yonasan Eibshutz, a commentary on the Torah and not a teshuva, which is well respected. He is pointing out that, beyeduah, it was known that the moon is a makom yishuv, inhabitable.

A woman can learn what she is mechuyeves, responsible like candle lighting. The aishes sema ruled that on Yom Tov the brocho should be said before lighting on which the Magen Avraham argues. The Chasam Sofer in Shabbos 24, on the mishna ein sorfim kodeshim be’yom tov. makes two rulings of hers related to each other.

Tosfas in Eruvin (13,2) on the above argument between Beis Shamai and Beis Hilel says that for a tzadik, ashrei lo veashrei ledoro, good for him (being born) and good for his generation. With this I explained why at a wedding we make a blessing yotzer haadam, thanking Hashem for creating a man and the second brocho for a woman. As they are forgiven their sins at the day of their wedding, they become tzadikim, so the above Tosfas applies.

The Midrash says בשעה ששמעו ישראל אנכי ה’ אלקיך אמרו ברוך שלא עשני גוי by kabolas hatorah when the Jews heard, I am your Hashem your G-d they answered, blessed be He who has not created me a goy. Why not say שעשני ישראל in the positive, He made me a Jew? It should have said, I am Hashem your G-d who created you not took you out of Mitzraim? We know the Beis Hilel say that it would have been easier not be created and therefore the Jews hearing that made a negative blessing for not creating me as a goy. The Meharsha explains that being not born would have been easier as they are 365 negative mitzvas being kept by not doing anything by not being born compared to 248 positive mitzvas when born.

Avira, you are in great company of Harvard Graduate Poet, e.e. cummings known for being a non-conformist who wrote everything with small letters but why are you greater than Rav Kotler ztz’l with your screen name by using three capital letters?

Avira, capitalizing a Rav’s name is a show of respect. Rav Aaron Kotler ztz’l deserves that respect which I learned in secular (compared to Torah) studies of proper English in the Yeshiva.

The GRA wrote a sefer on Geometry called Ayil Meshulash. Sometimes some secular education helps to understand a mishna.
הזהב קונה את הכסף. The Chachomim said that miderabonon the commodity acquires the currency (meshicha koneh). Gold is the commodity and not the currency. Why? There is a law in economics called Gresham’s Law which says, the bad coins drive out the good coins from circulation. Gold is the good coin which is not spent but hoarded. Silver with less value is spent, so silver is currency and gold is the commodity.

We are not on the level to learn constantly, so we need some relaxation. The mods b’H make sure that no aveirus are made in the CR, so instead of watching movies or TV you use the CR. We discuss Torah as well that can be enjoyed. Politics and YWN can upset CR participants, so by expressing their opinions clears their head for Torah learning.

Avraham Avinu, as the Midrash Tanchuma indicates that we were rewarded with the mitzva of sukkah by recognizing the provision of Hashem as Avraham did by vehishoanu tachas haetz, rest under the tree. He placed his guests under the tree to realize the need for sun and rain from above to grow it.

We make a brocho rofei chol bosor umaflie lasos. Rofei also means prevention, as it says that Hashem is our Doctor by ‘not’ laying on us all the illness of Mitzraim. Umaflie laasos, He creates wonders through a vaccine which heals through illness. The makah creates the refuah either through a dead virus or through emulation.

AAQ, in a democratic society, every four years the presidency disbands as the president takes a new oath of office. So the election creates a new entity and the proof is on the undoer of the election and not vice versa. Under no condition can he become a president more than eight years.

The CHOOSID is clear. An election was done and to undo it proof must be given. The one wanting to undo it must provide the proof not vice versa.
