Hey I was wondering the same thing! This college thing is crazy. Right now I am busy writing a 12 page paper and I have a ton of other homework to do.

Yup yogurt is scary. Anyway I became lactose intolerant last year so I don’t eat all these things anyway.

    -baisyaakovmaydel

I don’t know what cottage cheese you eat in Israel but the one my Sem had was horrible.

I think anyone can become addicted to anthing. I don’t think it has to do with self esteem. Is this a real theory? I think psycologists make these things up in order to make money.

I’m not either a pro since I am not into sports. I am not a boy. Sounds like a good idea. Thanks.

In conclusion, I don’t think there should be a sports thread cuz look at what trouble someone could get into.

    I don’t know about that.

There are 10 measures of speach in the world. Women got 9 and men got the remaining 1. So…. I guess it is a gift from Hashem that we speak so much.

I am not a feminist. Chulent is the best food created. I can eat it any day of the week. Actually my brother-in-law and I always talk about how we eat chulent all week. Seriously! by the way I didn’t have any sufganiot on Chanuka. So there! How many did you have? Don’t worry, if you want I could be your friend. ***Edited*** by YW Moderator-72

excuse me chasid of Hashem! maybe you are right about being loud but IT IS NOT EVERY GIRL WHO SHREIKS OUT LOUD IN PUBLIC. also a boy would also text and maybe not talk but it is still wrong. why because it is a girl, does everyone go crazy? Boys also start bad relationships through texting. If you want I could give you true stories. By the way what about here in the CR?

When I was in sem in Eretz Yisroel, from after Pesach untill we went home after Shavuos, all the teacher’s lessons had something to do about kollel how great it is and how it is the only way blah blah blah. We also had to write a 12 page report about kollel and the benifits of learning. There are many. This is what girls are hearing. But guess what? NOT EVERY GIRL IS CUT OUT TO BE A KOLLEL WIFE!! is that apikorsus. Maybe to some. But there are girls out there who get brainwashed to think that if their husbands don’t learn, they are not worth too much. This is totaly wrong!! They are also scared to go against the system. Not everyone can do it. Also not every boy can do it but they are too scared that they won’t get a shidduch if they don’t learn so they waste their days and in law’s money by being bentch warmers.

the next point is that not all Zevulans are real Zevulans. A Zevulan is someone who wishes he can learn and wishes his children can be in kollel not someone who looks down upon those in Kollel as boys who are too lazy to work.

Anyway the whole system is messed up.

you are right it all has to do with the kid. The same thing is with a kid driving. There are some kids who you would trust at 15 and those that you wouldn’t trust even when they get to be 23. Same thing with getting married. some 25 year olds are still babies. It depends on the kid. Every kid matures at a different rate and you just have to know your kids.

Actually I spoke to him about it many times he knows how bad it is so he doesn’t want his son to get into it. He is trying to cut it out but once you start….its like any addiction. I don’t understand it but I feel bad for those who are stuck in it. I’ll probably never understand it because I hope my husband is not into sports! Really it’s like any other taava a person has. Good for you on your acomplishments! I hope other people who want to get out of the rut can do like you did.

Sports is very addictive and can be very bad for people. I was talking to my cousin who told me that he doesn’t know what to do since he is addicted to sports and must hear the game while he doesn’t want his 6 year old son to know he is listening and become addicted. I think it is horrible that people get addicted to sports. It is bittul zman and is against bechukosaihem lo teileich. of course there shouldn’t be a CR thread for sports.

I think the pikuach nefesh would be in the army itself. forget about the enemy. it could be very dangerous for a yeshiva bochur- as you say you are. is there a reason you chose the army instead of regular college?

I agree with you. My phone doesn’t do all of that but it does save my parents a lot of trouble. Anyway you weren’t the one who shouldn’t have the cell phone. it’s the “teenage girl” who shouldn’t because we do many things wrong with our cell phones… yeah right!

Why do you say that it is dangerous for girls and not boys? Do you know what boys do on thier phones? I think parents needs to know what kind of kid thier daughter or son is and then they can decide for themselves. I don’t think it is fair to say all teenage girls should not have phones. I have a phone and I Baruch Hashem do not do anything wrong with it. I think it is awful to make a blanket statement about girls abusing phone rights. maybe you can explain what you said.

Sending yeshivish boys to high school would be a waste of time. I work in an elementary school for boys and it is a waste of time. The kids see it as a time to act out and have fun. There is no point.
