I took this idea of yours but mixed it around a bit. Instead of specifically putting them next to each other I have all of the rabbanim mixed on the wall. Also since I’m a graphic designer I had tonz of fun putting the pictures next to names and a short description coz I actually like to know what was so great about each Rav next to the picture.

    Thanks for the inspiration OP!

I feel that my first marriage wans’t my Zivug, but who am I to say – maybe it was my tikkun, thats what my Rebetzen feels.

And @Choppy – I hope I will treat them the way my new husband would want me to treat them – so if he wants me to keep my distance and let him and his ex be mechanech them, then thats what i’d do – if he wants me to be like a 2nd mother i’d be more than happy to. It always depends on the dynamics of the situation + what the children need etc…

I’m looking for a song called “Paroh B’mitztrayim” I think its by Avraham Fried but I checked every single one of his CD’s online and none of them have this song on it.

Does anyone know what song I’m talking about and which CD/Cassette it would be on?

You know what I don’t even know if the name of the song is paroh b’mitzrayim – but its this beautiful tune and starts with “paroh b’mitzrayim va ziknei – be shiagam ….” lol i don’t know the words properly but its STUNNING and I need to find it 🙂

OP sounds rough. Be strong, whatever goes up can go down, and whatever goes down goes up. Don’t try to compare your situation to others it never helps. You have your own trials to deal with (sorry health I don’t mean to be insulting).

But sometimes the best way is to sit down and come up with a plan on how to fix things. Think about what you CAN do and if something seems impossible… leave it alone… and after you’ve done what you can… the rest is in Hashem’s hands…

    a) she should go to university and go to career counseling thats what they do.

    b) she could look online to see what kind of jobs are out there and what sounds interesting to her and what kind of education is needed for those jobs

Maths doesn’t always have to be an accountant.

Engineering, Architecture and alot of jobs in the design field require a good deal of maths and creativity.

If she wants something interesting and she’s organized, the organization and hard working could just mean she will progress in whatever field she chooses. She doesn’t have to choose her career based on those character traits.

    Hope this helps 😉

No they don’t lol. Macabeats and Lipa use alot of very modern tunes! I’d know coz I listen to both. It really bothers me. There has to be some separation. And really seriously.. I don’t get how these singers became singers if they can’t make up their own tunes… whatever its all good.

I just think its an interesting concept to know if I should sing tunes like twinkle twinkle to my kids to put them to sleep. Maybe I should change their bed-time song routine. In todays day and age where the challenges are so hard during the teenager ages – it might make all the difference just by doing some small things right while they’re young…

    @health

You know what – lol I hear you about “choices”. But honestly think about it. I don’t need choices! I just need to find the one that is right for me.

This really amazing bochur ate at my neighbours house so I was trying to suggest a friend for him to the people he was staying by. The lady told me later that she’d told him that she has a list of girls waiting for him.. and he said “well I only need one…”

It helped to put into perspective whenever anyone told me that because I have children it’ll be harder to find someone. Its not true! All those that wouldn’t be interested are obviously not the one that’s right for me. So i’m not so worried about the “Choices” 😀

@M.O. Chossid – OF COURSE!! My kids are my first priority. I have friends who’ve been through a terrible time with their step father, I’d NEVER want to do that to my children. They have to accept and appreciate the guy just as much as me. It might be hard to find someone that it could all work, but Hashem knows what He’s doing and I know He’ll send me the person thats right for me AND for them. BH they are small and very friendly and accepting children but they wont always be young so the guy does have to be good for them for the future too.

Thank you everyone for the encouragement 🙂

I agree with MorahRach… but the problem with this is that its an extremely difficult challenge to stand up to the pressures of hollywood, and the public media.

Even if it creates a positive atmosphere in the world right now in the future he’s hugely at risk of being influenced by the media and everything that goes on, thereby making a Chillul Hashem later on by not staying frum.

Either way it is cool, and ohr chodesh – the people who think theirs nothing wrong with the idea probably thought it before. People don’t change their minds so quickly… unless they weren’t strong on their opinion in the first place.

With so much out there – matisyahu, judah the macabee, de-scribe, and more… there are plenty of frum people who sing out there in holywood etc the boy actually has more chances than he would have many years ago of making a kiddush Hashem – despite what I said before…

Its definitely important to be cordial. I always make a point of being nice and keeping in touch once in a while. After all in the end of the day they are still my children’s family – and it can only be good for them to be in touch with them. Sometimes its worth it to lower your ego a bit for your kids sake. It doesn’t mean you have to go out of your way for them especially if they dont or didn’t treat you right, but being a mench is important in all area’s of life…

@ckbshl – I was assuming that @shmoel was referring to if you feel your ready don’t let worries about if you’re ready deter you. But I 100% agree with you, however even mashpi-im and others that can guide you don’t know you as well as you know yourself. BH I have an amazing Rebetzen that helps me get through everything

@Think first – Thank you for your post! It was very informative. I just feel worried, like I might mess up a second time. I have a friend that got married and divorced the second time round, and we’re still verryy young – and in addition I have children. I’m not so worried about if I feel that I want to get married again, because I do feel the pull. I’m just not sure how emotionally ready I am to start another relationship. But… that being said when I feel ready for something I usually know it 100%, and it always works out the best that way – when I try to push for something just because I feel “its time” usually that doesn’t work out.

@Health – Lol its been WAY past 90 days…. don’t worry. I don’t understand how people can jump from one relationship to another like that but I’ve heard it being done before and working out amazingly BH

@ yaff80 – Yes definitely there is way more insight, and I do have more knowledge as to what is important to me and what I should be strong on and what I should let go of. It bothers me now so much with my single never married friends – when I know their priorities they have now are going to completely change after a couple of years.

@Tzvi Hirsh – how would you know when it leaves you? Like most of the time I could be fine but something could flare up and I’d get upset all over again completely unexpectedly…

@ Health – regarding to the post you pulled from the other source. Thanks for that. One thing my mother told me when I separated was that if I wanted to make sure not to do the same mistakes over again I would have to change how I thought and some aspects of who I was to make sure I wouldn’t go for the same kind of person. She was also saying that if it was my tikun then to change that I’d have to conquer the tikun on my own without the “help” of a guy. I see it very clearly now.. and its not easy 🙂

As for who they were all about – yes now with hindsight I do see alot more clearly when suggestions come up but I also try not to only focus on that but at the picture as a whole because its too easy to get sucked into the “he’s not right for me coz of this one thing that he does etc.” mode that delays so many people finding their beshert….

Well I think music is music but there is something in kabbalah (which I was told so not sure how reliable this is…) that you are connected to the neshama of the person who’s singing the music.

Now i’m not sure if its the singer, the origional composer or the musician that its referring to.

And actually because of all these things I actually create my own tunes up, and so many times friends have asked me to sing a song thats non jewish and make it jewish which I completely REFUSE to do. I BH know how to make up my own tunes… I don’t understand why other singers don’t do the same.. we want to hear NEW stuff anyways!! Not the copy of the non jewish……

Ok well 7-10 Beers is ALOT of beer to supply!! Do you know how expensive that stuff is?? My question is who on earth is supplying this amount to yeshiva bochurim! Can’t get drunk off beer that isn’t there… even 6 beers is alot of money. Even if you’re only hosting 4 yeshiva bochurim every shabbos meal you’re going to spend a fortune each week on beer.

And incidentally we did have a bochur that got drunk in our house – we had vodka out and he drank half the bottle till he couldn’t go home. But we should have taken it away longg before he got that far! They don’t get drunk as a bad thing but it seems to be a “strength” test with these boys to see who can hold it without getting drunk… hence drunk bochurim. I dunno I don’t think its such a big deal its just one of those teenage things they do, wrong or not… but I’ll probably have a different opinion when my boys get to that age 🙂

    haha are you serious? drunk?

I know how much alcohol my brothers have to consume in order just to get tipsy.

if you’re talking about boys below yeshiva gedolah age i’d call it sad that they even have access to enough alocohol to get drunk…

..and if theyr getting drunk in yeshiva on friday nights in yeshiva gedolah – well i’m sorry but the people [strong]supplying[/strong] the alcohol must be the crazy ones. it usually takes more than a few cups of wine or alcohol for the majority of boys to get properly “drunk”.

Dont ban drinking!! Just don’t supply soo much!!!
