State Discriminates Regarding Enforcement of Demolition Orders in Yosh

According to the Regavim organization, which has turned to Attorney General Menachem Mazuz, his office’s High Court division, selectively and intentionally ignores cases dealing with illegal Arab structures throughout Yehuda and Shomron.

The organization is a non-profit watchdog seeking to prevent the takeover of lands illegally, pointing out that Arabs routinely turn to the High Court once served with a demolition order. The court commonly issues a temporary injunction to permit an investigation into the case, thereby halting the demolition. Regavim alleges that due to the attorney general’s office workload, the decision is made to ignore the pending cases dealing with illegal Arab homes and to focus on Jewish construction only. Regavim accuses the attorney general’s office of advancing a clear agenda.

Attorney Asnat Mandel, who heads the High Court Division, stated the decision to move ahead with the case or not depends totally on the offices priorities without and regard to the fact the demolition orders pertain to Arab or Jewish structures.
