No, that’s not what I said or was trying to imply.

only that the SA calls it a chiyuv, the SA didn’t ‘create’ the chiyuv. It goes back all the way to the gemara.

FYI the reshonim use the word chiyuv as well as MITZVAH.

Don’t know where you live but in most circles people don’t teach their children to respect the words of our gedolim.

There might be only a handful of communitys in which people strictly follow the advice and guidence of a gadol or rabbi.

Not sure why you jump to the conclusion that people here think of Orthodox as yeshiva life.

Its between MO and plain original O.

Last year I made sure to notify my customers that we will be closed.

However one customer contacted me with a very large order, I made the quick calculation, that should refuse to ship the order, he would never use our company again.

So I shipped the order. Not only did the customer return the entire order, he started using our competitor.

I learnt the hard way, now we are strictly closed!

The best method of keeping the fresh, is to double wrap them with plastic. That’s what I did last year.

This year I followed the MG”A and bought new ones.

Yes, working on chol hamoed is not permitted. Some poskim go so far to say that it is a d’oreissa.

Giving up some pleasure is not a heter for working on chol hamoed.

The question is, can you work without doing a melacha doreissa?

    K9 is free and good.

Best would be if someone else has the password.

Or you can just keep it as a reminder that hey, this site is unappropiate and use your self control to steer away.

There is one thing that I had with K9, we installed it in our office computers, it made the entire network operate extremly slow. Never was able to figure out why it happened with K9.

I one heard something said in the name of the Chofetz Chaim.

There was once a doctor that came to a town for a while. Local theives stole the doctors equiptment and meds. The next day someones child was severly sick, the parents came running to the doc, however the doc was unable to treat the patient since he had no medicatio.

The moral is, by bashing Gedolim we are accomplishing one thing, that in the event that we will have to use them, they won’t be able to help us. Our children or spouses won’t listen or respect their words. Same as with the doctor.

    Good question!

This ban leads us to believe that Lakewood does not have a requirement to shut cell phones in middle of seder.

That’s what’s mashme from this takanah.

Working for a frum company usually has its benefits, like not having to deal with working on chol hamoed, tisha b’av and purim.

However the frum compaies I deal with, all pay even for the dates they are closed. Doesn matter if the empoyee is Jewish or not.

Is Isreal the only difference between orthodox and modern orthodox?

I say go for the original version of orthodox, rather then the modern version of it.

Yeah, I know that the modern version is more sleek and stylish. But its its still not the original!

I respectfully disagree, I don’t think that the commenter or anyone here associates mitzvah with the bracha.

Although I get your point, the commenter meant that there is schar if you eat anything in the sukka. Not that this is the chiyuv.

Assuming that you are not questioning the shulchan aruch, there is a chiyuv involved.

Your question was, what is the mitzvah of following the Shulchan Aruch.

Even if this chiyuv has been created by the SA, there would be the mitzvah of listening to our sages, as are with all mitzvos drabanan.

Sam2, to be exact. The shulchan aruch uses the word Chayiv. Which means obligated.

    I think its daf 40

Its a gemara and halacha. Which makes it a mitzvah.

Its not one of the taryag mitzvos, however its a halacha. No doubt that there is schar mitzvah involved.

As of now I am with Cain.

He is straight forward. Doesn’t mumble the usual nonsense.

Most importantly, has the most experience in the field that we need the most, which is Jobs.

Admits that he doesn’t have the inteligence data to have an opinion regarding foreign polocies.

    Sounds very honest.

I don’t really see any of the above in other candidates.

Perhaps you can work something out with the Yeshiva. Like writting a contract in which you obligate yourself to pay the remaining balance in payments over the next two or three years.

Anyways, I think that if you cannot afford the tuition, you should choose a different yeshiva.

I pay my employees for the entire yom tuv although we are closed. I feel that this is what’s right. These people work to make a living.
