If you just have to have one so that you can record your nieces, then go for the cheapest.

What do you consider a trophy wife?

    Looks or character?

A wife that has a nice outside. Or someone that will be a great wife/Mother.

Not that there is something wrong with beauty. Chazal didn’t have a problem with it. Only that I don’t think external beauty is what makes a women a trophy wife.

I would suggest thaat whatever your desicion is, try it out for two months.

It might look like its for you, and end up being a disaster.

By trying it out for a few months you will get the feel and see if its for you.

what does it matter if you have a friend called Abba?

Since your Fathers name is not Abba.

The question the Doc asked is an interesting one.

I would say if someones Father has Abba as a name. He should not call him Abba.

According to your logic I am a MO?!

No, I don’t think so. Actually I know so. I grew up in a MO neighborhood. There is a foundamental difference.

Orthodox people make sure not to change their tradition. Working is not about tradition. Its all those ‘small’ things together that we hold on to.

MO doesn’t care about keeping a straight heritage.

    This is my personal observation.

One thing for sure. We all don’t know what the real truth is. We can just make guesses.

DSK admitted without shame that he actually ‘did’ something. Only that it was consentual. Yuck!

Yet I don’t think he should be prosecuted based on the plaintiffs own words.

Of course tzadikim are only Human beings, and can make mistakes. Even Moshe Rabeinu erred.

However if someone knows it, it is the gedolim.

Doctors also make mistakes, that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t consult with a doctor.

The Mordche uses the word Mitzvah for shnayim mikrah.

So yes, it is a chiyuv. As per the reshonim and poskim.

It is a mitzvah, as per the Mordche.

And no, its not some minhag which was created by the shulchan aruch, has a mekor in gemarah and in midrash as well.

Sam, are you saying that the only difference between MO and original Orthodox is Learning vs working/studying science?

There are plenty of people studying science and many more that work yet they are considered Orthodox.

I think that there is a bigger difference between MO and Orthodox.
