If however, the goy thought that the ONLY way he would be able to attract help from a Jew was to LOOK like a Jew (otherwise he would be overlooked) I would venture to say, that it would rather be demeaning!

    Here’s a story,

I know a frum family who had a non jewish nanay working for them for years.

At the age of 80, she passed away at their home where she continued to be of service.

Her family wante her body to be brought back to her home town in Vienna so she can have a proper burail.

The frum family arranged for the chevra kaddisha of their town, to take care of her. (no need for taharos etc, but they did it with their full devotion)

This nanny’s family was forever greatful…..

    Shticky guy,

Your story really proves that Jews help OTHER JEWS and not goyim

Otherwise, the guy wouldnt see it neccessary to wear a yarmulka.

So in fact, I dont see this example as a TRUE KH, with all due respect.

    Re- the damaged sheitel,

does any wonder why the judge never asked the laundress what it looked like PRIOR to when it was thrown in the wash? Short, long , quality etc…..

    Thanks for posting the article.

    HOWEVER, there are a few logical questions to be asked;

    1) Why did Heidi say she had one wig when she had two including the damaged wig?

    3) Why did Mendi say he took the wig to three places to see if it could be fixed while also claiming that it was obvious that it could not?

    4) How did the Judge get the wrong Gerogie’s number? Presumptively the number she called was on the receipt. How did she get the other number?

    6) Why would Sylvia know off the top of her head what kind of Sheitel Heidi bought months before and how much it cost?

    7) Even if Georgie sold her 2 wigs, how would Georgie know if the damaged wig was the same wig she sold to Heidi? There could be another wig involved

    8) Why did they claim the laundry worker didn’t speak English when her English is passable?

And lastly, why did they insist that Geirgy was in France, what did that prove?

Please, I would LOVE to see this all in the clear.

Can someone get a few COMPETENT RABONIM to endorse this??

You talk about dan lecaff zechus. Maybe you should excercis that concept here and stop accusing people of taking part in this discussion for the wrong purposes.

    A thought just occured to me;

Had she come in with a hat or a scarf , which might have backed up her claim that her ‘one’ good sheitel was in ruins , whether true or not, the Chillul Hashem would have been so much less.

The judge would have known this’mop’ to be the ‘one and only’ and would have no reason to call up Georgie.

    The Rov,

    Re- Ms Millian,

the only thing she was wrong about was not making the laundress responsible for damaging the wig regardless of whether washing it was autherized or not.

Once they took it upon themselves to toss it in the machine, they were responsible for the outcome.

Even if she believed that it WAS a cheap wig, there was still a value on it, and it should have been considered . She could have awarded them whatever she thought it was worth, and scolded them for their alleged scam at the same time. But to deprive them of the minimum just because she was ticked at their behaviour was not very professional.

I didnt say bothered by LH, I said bothered by the harm that someone caused you. In this case, being two frum people who misrepresent our (my) values.

    Avram,

Actually, there are 3 people responsible for the aveirah of LH.

The people who cause it amongst them. So the fact that they went out in public makes their violation even greater.

Again , if you read my previous post, I point out that we were once told in a shemiras Haloshon shiur, that if someone does something which hurts you badly, and talin g it out will make you feel better, its allowed. Please check it out as I stand to be corrected.

    The Chevrah,

    I think your mistaken.

    Georgys is a frum company.

They certainly have an obligation to clear the reputation of a couple who as you say, are being unfairly, verbally abused.

If they can stop the posters from senseless drivel, they should leave no stone unturned!

    Apushatayid,

Sorry to dissappoint you but TOELES indeed DOES allow for you to talk.

In fact, its brought down that if someone did something personal to you that really really hurts you, and talking abou it will comfort you, you are permitted.

    Thechevra,

I think i can speak for everyone when I say that we would like nothing more than to prove this couple innocent.

Its really simple for Georgy to clarrify this by sending a letter to any frum organization on this couples’ behalf.

    Please, ask them…

    AVRAM,

With all due respect, this couple humiliated themselves when they ‘aired out their dirty laundry’ (dont mind the pun) on national television.

Once that happened they made themselves fodder for this whole discussion.

    The toeles in repeating this story is very obvious;

DON’T TRY AND SCAM OTHERS, ESPECIALLY NOT WITH ITEMS WHICH WE USE FOR RELIGIOUS PURPOSES AS BAIT!!!!

DON’T GET UP IN PUBLIC AND GIVE YOUR RELIGION A BAD NAME!!!

TRY TO MAKE A KIDDUSH HASHEM AND NOT A CHILLUL HASHEM, WHEREVER YOU GO AND WHATEVER YOU Do!!!!

The fact that this story got out disgusts everyone enough to think very carefully next time their Yetzer Hora tells them to violate our basic prin, ciples….

    Satisfied???

    A further point,

I find it very strange that when the jusge asked her how many wigs she had, she inssited only one besides the fall. Somehow the wig in question, which apparantly was worth 3 grand, and su^pposedly the focus of her case, didnt seem to come into the equation.

You would think that she would harp on the fact that she had 2 super wigs (besides the fall) and unfortunatley now, one was badly damaged. But in fact, she seemd to trivialize the fact that it was ruined.

Although I doubt this was a premeditated scam, but rather something they decided to take advantage of when they saw the devastating results, they were very unprepared.

This couple went on national television.

The video has been shown to the public in full.

It’s interesting that so far, nobody commented that they have seen these people around, or they recognize them etc.

So many people visit this site and probably watched the show.

Its very strange that NOBODY knows them!

I know the family to which Shraga is referring.

They are lovely people and have a wonderful background with Ba alei Chasodim.

Dont start playing the ‘holier than thou’ with mekoros.

Only a person who went through a tragedy like this can truly understand.

If you tell them that you came across someone who knows them (me for instance) and praised them, I think thats the biggest mitzvah you can do without emphasizing the pain they just experienced.

It happens to be that Non Jews have a feeling that there is hostility.

There was a Non Jewish woman who I met at a networking event.

She asked me if I am allowed to shake her hand knowing that she is Gentile.

I was so embarrassed, I wished I could have vanished that second!!

He never went out with one cos she was not ready at the time (read my post)

Why do you understand it more if they are Chassidish? On, the contrary. A chassidishe family would NEVER go back to a shidduch whic was not touched if the boy has already met another girl he is close to getting engaged to.
