Or maybe they should open more coed schools so they can mingle and marry each other…also coed summer camps and coed minyan maybe coed get togethers and coed simchas maybe even mixed dancing..all in the name of stopping intermarriage…

(Coed being a loose term of mixed- boys and girls…)

    Does pier1 have kids?

If the answer is yes to either one of those questions should pier1 ignore the needs (“pressure”) of his wife and / or kids to do a job that he might or might not like better??!?

” If heโ€™s supposed to get it heโ€™ll get it, highly doubt lying is hishtadlus.”

oy: I actually just heard a shiur that said like in shidduchim since everyone lies or “twists the truth” you’re allowed to lie because everyone “knows” that you’re lying…
Fundraisers for yeshivas are allowed to lie to get money for yeshivas…
Everyone is allowed to lie to “keep the peace”

Rav Moshe Feinstein brings down the question about why it’s ok to “lie” by a dinner about the guest of honor. He also addresses the issue of flattery (chanifa) and he answers that it’s not a problem because the guest of honor doesn’t even believe it himself!!!

That’s the kosher lying which I don’t have a problem with because that’s the halachah..but people stretching those rules (halevai) and flat out lying about everything else…

It is well known that after Adam took a bite from the apple, he felt great shame and covered himself with a fig leaf.

Eve, too, felt shame and covered herself with a fig leaf. What is not as well known is that immediately thereafter, Eve went behind the bush to try on a maple leaf, a sycamore leaf, an oak leaf…

It’s not that complicated… A clock that’s broken- meaning the hands don’t move will be correct twice a day… For example if the hands are stuck at 12 o’clock it will be wrong the whole day except for 12 am and 12 pm…

Yes also a good idea…illustrating why saying “definitely” is a bad idea…plenty of good places around..look around and listen to your rabbeim and you should be fine. Maybe check them out during the zman and see if any of them “speak” to you or if you specifically like any of them for one reason or another.

Moishe and Miriam were sitting down to eat at the dinner table. Miriam commented, “You know, Moishe, when we were first married, you took the small piece of brisket and gave me the larger. Now you take the large one and leave me the smaller. You don’t love me anymore?”

I think the second question might answer the first..if you find somewhere to learn, live and establish yourself it will be a lot easier to find a shidduch…I don’t know where you live or what you do but usually the more frum jews that live somewhere indicates that there’s more options…

At the local Talmud Torah School they brought in a fireman to talk about safety. He brought some visual aids with him including a smoke detector. The fireman pressed the button to demonstrate and asked the children if anyone knew what it meant when an alarm sounded from the smoke detector.

A little boy in the back of the room raises his hand and says, “It means my Abba is cooking dinner.”

I actually know of a case where they basically did this. There were a lot of people unhappy with the neighborhood school and they decided to homeschool. After a few years and a lot of people were homeschooling they decided to try a rotation based system exactly how you suggested…

“The talmidim and yungeleit are so steeped in Torah study that they have time on their hands to be bussed to and attend these protests. I guess they take after their brethren in Eretz Yisroel who neither have jobs to go to nor the zitzfleisch/kishroin to sit in the Beis Medrish for more than an hour a day.”

Dr. E: Your post makes me sick.

Firstly, the fact that one of the biggest gedolim in America is allowing his holy talmidim to miss some of their precious learning time shows how big of a deal it is…

Secondly, don’t make believe that all (or even most) of the bochurim in Israel “neither have jobs to go to nor the zitzfleisch/kishroin to sit in the Beis Medrish for more than an hour a day.” Most (almost all) of them are learning all day and have more mesiras nefesh for learning than you could ever understand sitting on your computer making fun of them- the holiest people in klal yisroel.

You clearly have no idea what it means to learn and sit in yeshiva (even for 1 hour!!) and you clearly don’t have any chashivus for the torah or those who hold it dear. Maybe learn a little (start with 5 minutes…) and hopefully (with help from hashem) you will be enlightened to the beauty of torah and your sickening opinions will change.

A man goes to seek counsel from his Rabbi.

“Rabbi, something terrible is happening and I have to talk to you about it.”

    “What’s wrong?” Asked the Rabbi

“I think my wife is poisoning me.”

The Rabbi, very surprised by this, asks, “How can that be?”

“I’m telling you Rabbi, I’m certain she’s poisoning me! What should I do?”

The Rabbi then offers, “Tell you what. Let me talk to her, I’ll see what I can find out and I’ll let you know.”

A week later the Rabbi calls him and says, “Well, I have spoken to your wife – I spoke to her on the phone for three hours. You want my advice?”

    Anxiously he responds, “Yes.”

“Take the poison,” says the Rabbi.
