AZ – “cherrybim: The ribbono shel oilam expects us to do our best. The rest is up to him. Quitting on Klal yisroel isn’t an option.”

This is doing our best? This is fantasy.

For desperate times, you need desperate action and large shoulders. My suggestion is that we use the sort of Reverand Moon method of pairing single couples:

With the blessings of the g’dolim, all Jewish singles who agree will sign up to the program and frum experts will pair them up and we will have a massive chupa for tens of thousands. It will be the biggest simcha ever. If chas v’sholem some marriages don’t work out, these ex-couples will again go into the pool for the next choosing.

But we need to be prepared for the massive population explosion. Halavai.

Daniel Breslauer – If you can read Yiddish, why can’t you write it also? Try to get a hold of “Briefen Shteller”, a Yiddish primer of long ago.

Starwolf – Try reading any of the Apikorsim’s Yiddish stories or poetry; in addition to knowing the language, unless you are fluent in Tanach and minhagim and halacha of Shuchan Aruch that were practiced by everyone amalege tzeiten, you’re not going to understand anything.

Point is: You can’t speak this language without incorporating holy idioms and words connoting all aspects of Yiddishkeit.

Thanks. If anyone remembers; in the early 70’s, Dovid Cohen was an accountant and then bought the Miller Cheese Store in the Lower East Side and then opened another in Borough Park on 13 Ave. He also produced a Pesach cheese pie. All this was before cheese stores and Pesach baking became popular. He sold out, retired, and devoted his life to tzedaka in Eretz Yisroel.

Such as: The Israel Chesed Fund. Dovid L. Cohen has raised many $millions over the last 30 years and every penny has gone to the very poor of Eretz Yisroel. No salaries, no rent, no expenses charged to the fund.

Let’s also congratulate the Brooklyn frum community for its accomplishments in terms of sinas chinam and mentchlichkeit.

When the Flatbush eruv was first erected, it wasn’t usable because the eruv would be torn down every week by the detractors who sincerely believed it was a mitzva to do so.

In addition, there was a civil war in effect in the community: families were split apart; friends became enemies; people who used the eruv were not allowed to eat in the same home as those who didn’t; shidduchim were broken; Rabbonim were abused; mothers with babies were harrassed. Boruch Hashem this is all past us.

Please explain when long loose fitting skirts/dresses became untzniusdik and the same for denim; who made up these fake regulations? Our women are not sluts and if it was tzniusdik for many years; what changed in the halacha?

Also, let’s suggest that women show some m’siras nefesh and add a few inches to their waists and a chin or two so they will be less attracting to the our men who want to sometimes take a walk outside. Their husbands can be moser nefesh for the cause too.

And women, I know it’s great that you have all your hair covered, but that shaitel, you know the one that we tried to get you to wear for many years; well it’s just too good. Get rid of it!

From the sound of some of these posts, I want to institute a new g’zeira: Women should not be looking at other women: at how they dress, what kind of sheitel they have on, what kind of make up they wear, their shoes, their bodies.

    IT’S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!

And it is also the cause of lots of sinas chinam and loshon hara.

So women and men, if it bothers you, no peeking.
