@americaisover im not gonna say what i really think of ur comment but open up any jewish news paper and they are advertising it for $1 a day or how yeshiva/shuls take life insurance policies out for rabbanim…

but to answer chaimss its hard to give an exact number…as a newly myself of just about 10 month our expenses are quite high.

utilities are about $400 (jcp&l is ROBBING us)food is about $400+ if we have guests for shabbos, if u go out to eat a lot, etc.

about $100 on household items such as toothpaste, mouthwash, toilet paper, paper goods, laundry detergent etc.

we have whole life and term about $350 for both, my husbands health insurance $200 a month, + $$ any co pays and anything not covered by insurance or dental thats not covered by insurance can be quite pricey.

car insurance $275 gas who knows but about $200 for my car plus about $50 tolls and idk how much for my husbands…i would put $100-200 for clothing depends if u frequent the mall ull probably end up spending (we both have way too much clothing and shoes for that matter)…which reminds me dry cleaning at least $100 a month

our expenses include other stuff too but i think these are the basics for most newly weds.

the best part of our wedding video is the “silent movie” parts…the videographer would fade out the frame and in black and white speeding up the actions making it look like a real silent film…some parts such as him chasing one of my little sister in laws around, my mother, sister and aunt talking, my brothers and father…

they did show the food and the tables and the flowers…they also randomly filmed people but that was good because some of the people i dont remember seeing. the only mistake he made on the case he put the wrong date but i didnt even bother correcting it. he was pretty funny and he knew what he was doing the editing was well done as well.

im wondering if $5175 is normal for 1 videoagrapher, a photographer and another one for the dancing…there was a mitzva tantz so it was a long night

YES!!!! we paid 5k for a photographer, videographer and a second photographer for during dancing. most of the photos are good, but after the chupah all the couple pictures were taken without a backdrop, against a nasty angle….i was annoyed but i let it go in my albums. for my enlarged picture however i asked that they photoshop it….their photoshop was WORSE than the ugly curtains background….so im just gonna take them to someone else who i know who will help by putting it on a canvas and eliminating the background. i know a lot of pple who arent happy with their wedding pictures…..what annoys me is that we didnt go cheap we got a “highly recommended guy” yet i couldve prob paid $800 and gotten the same stuff…..oh well u live and learn.

    ps whats ur question!??

ilovetheholyland…i think u sound like a really great girl and i know it may sound cliche but sometimes its quiet for a while and then all of a sudden u get a bunch of offers…someone even called me the night before i got married (someone i had previously dated who didnt know i was engaged)…sorry too late dude!!!

anyways my point is, dont listen to the guys in the cr they are in some dream fantasy world like their fantasy sports teams.?!?! there are amazing guys out there who will see past ur weight and see the beautiful girl with all ur amazing middos.

a lot of guys are dumb!!! its just a fact and they want what their eyes see but it almost never ends up very well and they learn it the hard way.

anyways there are guys out there that arent so superficial and as previously mentioned u gotta find great shadchanim that work with u not the ones u chase…

i got set up by my cousin who knew my sister in law….sometimes friends and family are the best if they know both parties.

exactly, i was just reviewing our finances last night we spend a lot of money for just two people, but theres rent, car insurance, life insurance, food, gas, water, electric, phones and before u know it the cc bill is threw the roof. bh we are living on 2 incomes but like miri mentioned even being middle class and living in lakewood which is ‘cheaper’ than other places it still takes two to cover the bills and then maybe put away a little in savings, if im lucky!!

to clarify i never intend to have a fulltime live in but iyh when i have kids i am going to havta get a nanny, i aint sending my 2 month old to a shared baby sitter where the bigger kids will stick stickers all over his stretchy…

well at this rate if i stay in lakewood i may have a very difficult time finding help when the time is rite…anyways my husband and i both work, and bh i found a good job that pays health insurance and other benefits which i need since bh we are not entitled to mooch off the government like so many other people i know. idk why u guys are all attacking on me….half of lakewood at least the wives are working 9-5 and the kid is at a babysitter from 830-5 and many import their help from the phillipians or some russian country…

lol my mother told me not to go to sleep till the house is clean, yea right!!! i come home from work so drained and i start dinner or i watch tv while i clean our room but the bathroom aint cleaning itself and the carpet could use a vacuum. folding laundry and making beds are easy its the kitchen and the bathroom i struggle with….literally i need someone for about 1-2 hours but so far nothing….:( and i dont wanna share with someone because then we can only get our house clean when the neighbor also wants the lady to come….thats crazy!??

Ur right H i dont…but i do know that i dont really like anything in lakewood at all except for my husband and the chinese farmers market on route 9 where the lady always smiles at me and says hello 🙂

its funny cause here the people are all mostly from flatbush or boro park originally but they arent my speed….i have no intention of fighting to get my kids into school (they want u to be in kollel but they want u to have money also and pay full tuition?!?!)and i think its ridiculous the way everyones watching u and reporting back to ur husband….i am not living my life for other pple but it bothers me that other people feel the need to talk about me and then it gets back to me…

thank you yita and bt…its just i had another run in with them on purim and now i dread going to brooklyn because i know we will inevitably be going to this friends house. i do put up with him and his wife but it sucks the life out of me i never let anyone get to me like that but this guy and his wife do and thats why i just have this bad feeling about them.

ill give u an ex. we went after our purim seuda to say hi, my husband and i agreed on 20 minutes (and i said i am doing it purely for my husband). i walk thru the door there are like 10 drunk people around the table dressed like…hmmm no words i can use in the cr but highly inappropriate and like LOUD and annoying!! his wife was in the back so i went to say hi but it was awkward so i went back to the living room. there was no where for me to sit so i just stood by the door texting and bbming, my husband realized i was uncomfortable and told his friend to get his wife, when she wouldnt come, my husband said a goodbye we are leaving….i was very impressed with that!!! but later that night he called and gave an excuse why his wife didnt come out……AND that once i was hanging out with my sister and i ignored his wife?!!? which isnt true and i just wish i didnt have to deal with him or his wife!!! ughhhh…

ps this friend speaks to my husband at least once a day because my husbands helping him out with a business deal!!!! so he will always be around!!!

anyways have a good shabbos everyone :)!!!

they arent very friendly people…and i dont feel comfortable around them, the wife barely says 2 words to me even though ive had 2 shabbos meals and spent an entire shabbos with her. i make an effort but im only gonna go so far…

what bothers me the most is that i feel the friend uses my husband and i just dont like him but my husband says they are friends and friends help each other out….i cant pin point one thing….its a multitude of things that cause this dislike but i feel like this friend is gonna be in my life for a very long time and i just cringe at the very thought of it 🙁
