☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant
MDG, coffee is very likely ??? ?????? just like tea.
Don’t forget, were talking about Via, which is not the same as other instant coffee.
There is even reason to be machmir to use ???? ??? ????? for ordinary instant coffee, but more so for Via.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIf you think vice versa then please tell me why and which of the 39 Melanoma is being broken by biking on Shabbos
Which of the 39 melachos is muktzeh? Which of the 39 melachos is carrying in a place where the eruv is down? Which of the 39 melachos is using an umbrella?
The answer to all of these is none, but there are things which are assur on Shabbos which are not one of the 39 melachos.
I was under the impression that it was well known that riding a bike on Shabbos has been accepted as assur, whether because of uvdin d’chol or a gezeirah, as Mammele said.
I guess I was wrong, and some people really don’t know.

We do keep d’rabbanans, you know.
July 4, 2016 10:15 pm at 10:15 pm in reply to: Is It permitted to ride a bicycle on shabbos? #1158666☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantZD, just curious – would you say that if the question were if you’re allowed to light a fire on Shabbos?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWere you home when you blew your nose?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantBeing that some of the coffee was not cooked already, it may present some issues on Shabbat. CYLOR.
I have.
The information I have is that it’s all undergone some type of cooking process, even if some is not brewed.
I was told to use irui kli sheini, which has the din of kli shlishi.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantBut comparing instant-coffee to brewed, is ridiculous.
Except Via. That is excellent, and comparable to decent brewed coffee.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThat’s very nice of you.
How is Mrs. CT doing?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantRegular means House Blend?
The prof1: Folgers is awful.
The best decaf IMO is Dunkin’, but their regular, though good, is not as good as Gevalia (I like many varieties but usually get the House Blend) or Lavazza (I get the Crema e Gusto).
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWhich Taster’s Choice, which Gevalia?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantYes.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantCA: With a screen name like that, who’d have imagined?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWhat coffee do you make at home?
Lavazza and Gevalia.
I buy through Amazon Subscribe & Save, so it’s not that expensive.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI wouldn’t know, but the coffee I make at home is definitely better than Taster’s Choice.

☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantMaybe all the factories shut down.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantKinda not.
How does a cross-dresser wearing it indicate that it’s a woman’s hat? Just the opposite. The fact that the women’s rights movement adopted it as its symbol also shows that it was considered masculine.
Also, look around some more and you’ll see that similar hats with different names were around before.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantAs I have often pointed out, the fedora was exclusively a woman’s hat until about 1920 or so.
You have often pointed it out, but you’re probably wrong.
Certainly, your evidence is flimsy. You keep saying that the fact that some prutzah made it famous means it was a woman’s hat, but you neglect to point out that she was in the habit of wearing men’s clothing.
July 1, 2016 10:05 pm at 10:05 pm in reply to: Is it permissible for women/girls to watch movies-listen to non Jewish music? #1158375☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIt depends on which movie and music.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI did the same thing with my sons.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantDr. Miller does teeth. He has the most amazing flavors of mouth rinse, but sometimes refuses to do cavities.
Great taste, less fillings.
July 1, 2016 2:46 pm at 2:46 pm in reply to: Can anyone help me find online Midrasha courses, please?.. #1158008☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantTry naaleh.com.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantGood point. Maybe it was clearer in the Rashba that it refers even to rejecting details, not just rejecting the entirety of Torah Sheba’al Peh.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantBut my friend said it lasted half a minute and it was a joke:)
Did she have a boy or a girl?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWhen I gave birth to my first, my husband was pacing back and forth, a total nervous wreck.
He said to the midwife, “I really hope it’s a girl”.
“Why?”, she asked.
“So she won’t have to go through what I’m going through now”.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIf you love your baby, you will get them a bugaboo.
Right, because then you won’t be able to afford to send him to college, so he’ll stay on the derech and become a talmid chochom.
☕ DaasYochid ☕Participantwe all know that ywn is full of married women pretending to be law students pretending to be yeshiva guys so they can post stuff in learning.
FTFY
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantMw13, the Rashba says arguing with Chazal is apikorsus.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantCA, of course. That’s how you learn.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantCA, asking a question and thinking someone’s wrong are two different things.
June 30, 2016 8:26 pm at 8:26 pm in reply to: WHY ARE DENIM JEANS CONSIDERED BY MANY AS CHUKAS HAGOY #1157667☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI suspect if Feivel were a farmer, he might also wear jeans while working. That specific situation isn’t really what this conversation is about.
A real melech, btw, would never wear jeans. The fact that several POTUS have worn jeans speaks to our eroded respect for the position (as further evidence, see who is the Republican presidential nominee), not to the appropriateness of denim as royal attire.
June 30, 2016 7:20 pm at 7:20 pm in reply to: WHY ARE DENIM JEANS CONSIDERED BY MANY AS CHUKAS HAGOY #1157664☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantBoysWork: it is you who displays arrogance and chutzpah.
Feivel was very clear that he was only speaking for himself.
He expressed his opinion about how royalty should dress. ?? ??? ????? ??? ????? has its roots in Chazal. Do you spit at Chazal?
We should all strive to be talmidim, as old as we may be.

☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantDo you mean the Rema who says
??? ??????? ?????? ?? ???? ??? ????? ??? ?????? ??? ???? ??????
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantThanks, popa.
BTW, what % was alcohol?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI told everyone that dam dagim and dam adam are both assur because of maris ayin. Now, fish blood is allowed if you put scales near it to show that it is fish blood. So I assume that human blood would be permitted if you put teeth and hair near it.
Why aren’t you allowed to eat the blood on a wounded finger? Thers a nail right there.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantYeah, I don’t know what’s gotten into popa. Now he’s saying the name Charlie was around in the time of the rishonim?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantCorrect. It does make a difference regard asking a stirah to a pirush known to be written by Rabbeinu Nissim, but regardless, it hasthe status of a Rishon.
We don’t need to know the name of the author to a pirush to accept it as a Rishon; we famously have the “Shittah Lo Nodah L’mi”.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantPopa, what got into you? Since when is Marc Shapiro daas Torah? Anyhow, Charlie doesn’t believe in daas Torah, so what’s your point?
Anyhow, even if Marc Shapiro was right, the Ran on Sanhedrin is still a Rishon.
☕ DaasYochid ☕Participant?) ?? ?????? ??????? ???? ?????? ?????? ????? ?? ?? ????? ?????????? ???? ??????? ??? ?? ???? ??? ????? ?????? ??? ?? ???? ??? ??? ?????? ???? ?? ????? ?????? ????”? ??? ??? ????? ?? ?????? ????? ???? ????? ??? ??? ??? ?”? ???? ??????? ????? ????? ??? ??????? ??? ??? ????? ???? ?? ???? ?????? ????? ?? ??? ???? ????? ??????? ????? ??? ???? ????? ??? ?? ???? ???? ??? ?????? ????? ??? ?? ????? ????? ???? ???????
He says it resembles chukas hagoy. He does not say it actually is (otherwise it would not even be muttar b’sha’as had’chak).
Sam is correct.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantTrump’s biggest fault is that he’s not a professional politician.
No it isn’t. His biggest fault is that he’s a vulgar person.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantSome of Andy Statman’s music.
I believe there are some frum classical musicians.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantTo make it a bit less crude, I would add that it’s usually Jewish themed.
There are frum musicians whose audience isn’t frum, and I wouldn’t call their music “Jewish music”.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantWhen people refer to goyish music vs. Jewish music, they don’t put in in the latter category just because the artist’s mother was Jewish.
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI considered President Obama’s views more Torahic than Mitt Romney’s.
How on earth did you do that?
☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantDo they still bow to the “prophet”?
