I would think a sports game is an excellent place to date. Awkward silences can easily be filled with comments on how the game is going!

Bugs!! I will seriously refuse to sleep/go near the area I saw a bug for a few days. I once dated a guy who said he’s also scared of bugs…that was the end of him! Who’s going to kill them for me if not my husband?!? (And before everyone jumps on me, there were very valid reasons for saying no to him and this wasn’t included)

I know someone who was waiting in front of BMG for her husband and some other guy comes into the car! She says “er, um, I think, you kinda have the wrong car…” Boy did he get out of there fast!

“In Chareidi schools, even anyone paying “full” price, is being subsidized. Unless your Reichman or someone like that, you are not paying even cost. That applies to even the upper middle class.”

I personally know people who are not very rich and pay full tuition without subsidies. They realize that tuition is a priority and vacations are not.

It’s pretty obvious that most girls post sem are dating. I still see no need why anyone has to know about each date. Just because I don’t tell my friends anything and everything about my life I still consider them friends. As others have mentioned I think there’s a tznius aspect involved.

It’s not that I answer every second. I’m really not addicted to my phone. But I don’t like talking about my dating life even with close friends. And generally I usually answer within an hour or two so when I go out… I like the dead phone and went to sleep early excuses. Good one for next time…unless my friends linger around the coffee room…

Constantly talking about tznius doesn’t help the problem. And like many others mentioned, rebuking a person will likely have the opposite effect. I think the only way to enforce tznius is for teachers to infuse students with a love of yiddishkeit. When you love someone you want to do things that make them happy. So too here. Instill a love of being Jewish and kids will want to follow halachos. In addition, when tznius is actually being discussed, it’s the halachos that should be focused on rather than the sensitivities. If kids hear an extreme view said to be halacha they not only won’t follow the stringency but will assume that actual halacha is also the extreme. I am not saying not to discuss sensitivities at all. But it should be clearly differentiated from what’s halacha.

I have heard that just like male doctors are all allowed so are male hairdressers. Would it be ok for a married woman to have her hair cut by a man? I’m not trying to pick a fight here; I’m curious.
