And I’ve got one regarding molestation where zdad “truly believe The aguda would have done even less than they are doing now if they were not shamed into at least admitting there was so issue.”

In all honestly, this didn’t originate from ZD. I believe some of the Agudah “bigwigs” said the same. It may have even been the Noveminsker (but I don’t recall).

Gavra at work, while the idea is debatable, Bennet’s caring for toira and mitzvos, is unfourtunatley undebatable. He wants to draft all the frummers, legalise intermarriage and various other issurim, etc…

And he also eats babies for breakfast.

“More so, your “Gedolim” insist on taking the money!!”

Very disrespectful. Do you have different “gedolim”? I’d like to know who they are?

Hopefully. As I discussed earlier, any “Gadol” who worships money and is willing to give up on their principles for the sake of money is not a Gadol at all. There are many graduates of JTS who also know how to learn, but that doesn’t make them “Gedolim”. Rabbi Avi Weiss has a large following like a Chassidish Rebbe, but that doesn’t make him a “Gadol” either.

As for a list, we can start with Rabbi Miller ZTL. Rav Chaim Kanievsky in EY as well (he is NOT a Posek (as he admits himself), but is a “Gadol”).

Properties are tiny and it results in a sever lack of the type of tznius not taught in most Bais Yaakovs.

This. I am aware of too many “bungalow colony” type stories. Many aspects of a Yiddishe family are meant to be private between the husband & wife, not the yentas who stand outside in their complexes and watch who passes by.

He didn’t turn down his pension.

Mah Kesher? The money for the work done prior was not the issue, but rather Rav Elyashiv’s implicit acquiescence to the P’sak (which as a Gadol, he felt needed a Mach’ah).

mdd: depends if they are real or fake. I don’t see Rav Chaim or Rav Elyashiv “selling out” and taking the money. In fact, Rav Elyashiv quit rather than approve the Gerus questions of Rabbi Goren.

akuperma: I would agree. Unfortunately, having Friday off doesn’t solve the Chillul Shabbos problem, because of early shabbosim, late days Friday, etc.

The proposal is for a 4 1/2 day week, with Friday closing at 12 PM in the winter & 1 PM in the summer.

Personally, I’m shocked that Gimmel is even pursuing this and that Rabbi Druckman met with them. I wouldn’t have the Anavah (and would tell them exactly where they can place their requests), Kol HaKavod to Rabbi Druckman who obviously does.

I assume you would say the same for ritual animal slaughter, genocide of Amalek, levirate marriage, and the quaint idea of giving the firstborn son double, while the girls get nothing. Just because you “think” it is “bad”. As I said earlier, your real argument is:

DY and GAW, what you’re saying is completely illogical. When you give out large sums of money in small increments to different people, that is not the same as giving a large amount of money to one person or cause, and it wouldn’t be reasonable to do research for each individual person.

“When you give out large sums of money in small increments”. I assume you mean giving small amounts many times? Perhaps that is not what you should be doing. It certainly is not an excuse to not be Bodek as per Halacha.

But more disturbingly, can praying on a bus really engender an atmosphere of “Da Lifnei Mi Atto Omed”? Can any rational person really envision himself standing in front of a King? whilst on a fast moving bus, watching his balance etc.

I’m not a Posek, but why is this any different than davening on an airplane? Most Poskim hold (and do L’maase)(I don’t know of any who disagree) to daven in your seat without a minyan, but the “Chasside Shoite” feel they know better than the Gedolim and need to make a Matza Minyan, next to the bathrooms.

Care to tell me from which Jewish practice transubstantiation comes from?

    I like a challenge.

Simple. Wine is because Jesus “changes” the water into Wine. Water was changed into blood during the Makka of Dam. So wine changes into Blood.

Kimono, kimono, kimono. Ha! Of course! Kimono is come from the Greek word himona, is mean winter. So, what do you wear in the wintertime to stay warm? A robe. You see: robe, kimono. There you go!

Meaning what difference does it make to being a Ben Torah if they learn 5 years before getting married at 27 or five years afterwards getting married at 22? (Popa’s question).

Besides, as I have said in the past, the Baal Habatim in my area are known to be Talmidei Chachamim, and are more “Beni Torah” than the local Kollel members in many aspects (and that does not disparage the Kollel. They just aren’t on the same level).

Confucious: Check it out from Yesh Atid’s platform (on their website):

Yesh Atid’s plan for “equal service for all,” not only aims to solve the problem in a systematic manner, but, in doing so, also takes into account the needs and sensibilities of the ultra-orthodox population . In fact, ultra-orthodox were involved in formulating the plan. The Yesh Atid plan states plainly and simply: For the next five years, open the doors for 18-year-old ultra-orthodox young men to go to work with no requirement to serve. During those five years the National Authority for Civilian Service will identify the differing needs throughout Israeli society and arrange to address those needs by harnessing those who will enter National Service after the initial five year period. Furthermore, during those five years, a payment plan will be established for combat soldiers who serve for a full three years.

During those five years, the army will develop programs to facilitate the service of much larger numbers of ultra-orthodox citizens to serve in the army, and national service models will be created to be specifically geared to the needs of the ultra-orthodox (and Arab) populations. These options will include serving in hospitals and homes for the elderly, enhancing the security of neighborhoods in conjunction with the police, assisting Magen David Adom/Hatzalah/ZAKA, and providing much-needed support in educational institutions with a focus on easing the burden of those engaged in special education.

Sounds reasonable to me. No jail for dissent, work right away, programs to facilitate the needs of Charaidim and Arabs. This could have been something that a pro-Charadi Rov wrote.
