rabbiofberlin -“To ‘health’ and all the other Eretz Yisroel deniers, please explain to me the Rambam in hilchos melochim concerning Moshiach (based on the gemara, by the way). If you cannot do that, please give me at least an answer to what i wrote earlier concerning “sholosh shevuos”, showing that it obviously lapsed at the beginning of the second bais hamikdosh.”

You obviously are clueless -the three Shevuos are a minor problem. The main problem is their Kefira and that they don’t keep the Torah!

njsavta -Sorry to hear. I can relate, but mine have nothing to do with the school system (or very little).

But I wonder why do Frum people have a double standard? The Freye/BT person/kid they tell -whatever Mitzva you do is better than none. The FFB person/kid they tell whatever you do Is Not good enough. Since this is what they do -I’m really not surprised that we have so many going OTD!

DaasYochid -“He gave two conditions, neither of which apply here. We have no right to assume that they’re not l’ikuva.”

Yea, but he didn’t say that did he? Did he say that the Yid has to help or that he probably will help? And the employee part -I used a Kal V’chomer. Stop putting words in there that he doesn’t say just to be right!

“I don’t need proof, the reasoning applies perfectly here as well.”

And why is that? Because you say so?!?!?

“Your argument with hello99 is against the Shmiras Shabbos K’hilchoso.”

So what? Any Rov can argue on even Rav Moshe Zt’l, even though most don’t. Are you saying now – no Poisek can argue on the Shmiras Shabbos K’hilchoso?

Actually Zionism has been attacked by Gedolim & Frum Yidden since its’ conception. By conception -I don’t mean conception of the state, but of the Idea as Israel as a homeland before the coming of Moshiach!

Avi K -“Health, if you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem.”

Exactly! The difference between me and you is -what is the problem and what is the solution. To me the Medina is the problem and the coming of Moshiach is the solution. You obviously feel the Medina is the solution. How could a Medina based on Kefira be the solution IF you are a Jew who believes in the Torah?

I never made excuses for my ex, but a lot of other people did, esp. some of my family. Some people just use anybody in the world to go about with their nefarious plans. My ex was just a victim of these horrible people!

DaasYochid -“We don’t pasken like him.”

The Aruch Hashulchan said you can in certain instances. I found a better instance than the A.H.!

Also having the Yid help -the A.H. just said he might help out -he didn’t say it is L’eecuva!

“Let me clarify what I was addressing. Aside from the issur of havarah in turning on the crockpot, there’s also the issur of bishul – cooking the raw cholent. Even if the crockpot were not considered aish, it would be bishul.

Now, one might argue that if the crockpot were not aish (it is; I’m going l’shitoscho), there would be no bishul D’oraiso, similar to cooking in the sun (which is entirely mutar), or something heated by the sun (toldas hachamah which is assur m’d’rabanon). For this, I brought R’ Moshe’s teshuvah that cooking with a microwave is a D’oraiso, and so would be cooking in a crockpot, even if there were no aish.”

And what I’m telling you is – Rav Moshe is a Chiddush regarding cooking in a microwave -you have no proof to apply this elsewhere.

To be a D’oraisa it has to be similar to Meleches Hamishkon -cooking in a crock pot ISN’T similar!

hello99 -“Health: a crock pot has a heating element that glows red hot and is certainly an Issur d’Oraisa. Therefore, there is no Heter whatsoever to tell a Goy to turn it on.”

Who says it gets red hot? I highly doubt that kind of heat from a crock pot or a hot plate. It’s almost impossible what you say because a burner cooks something real quick as opposed to a crock pot or hot plate which takes hours.

What’s your point? E/o knows the Knesset passes the laws. They didn’t pass these laws because they are Tzadikim -they did it as any business deal. The Frumme gave them something they wanted and in exchange they gave the Frumme something they wanted. You don’t have to have any Hakoras Hatov for this, unless when you go into a store to buy something you fall all over the store owner thanking him for allowing you to purchase something by him!

ARWSF – You made the right move by calling and getting in touch with a Rov and STF. But this is a very minute beginning. Either call the Rov or STF again and get names of therapists and psychiatrists and let them get you an immediate appt. If not tomorrow, they should be able to get you in sometime this week.

Don’t go back to the psychiatrist that you got into a fight with, go to s/o new. You need to start fresh!

uneeq -“I mentioned what you said over here already (see right below). Although as DY points out, there is still an Issur of bishul. I pointed that out too. Only if it’s fully cooked AND still not-cold/hot will it be muttar to tell a goy.”

No, it doesn’t have to be fully cooked and it could be cold!

“The problem of amira leakum is simpler. You cannot tell a goy to do a melacha for you on shabbos.

So as long as it’s not fully cooked, or it’s cold, it would be a definite Issur. I’m assuming that you can get around the amira leakum problem, though. If the chulent is fully cooked and gets turned off in middle of shabbos, if it’s still piping hot, or according to ashkenazim, not cold yet, a goy would probably be able to put turn it back on (trei derabanan letzorach mitzva).”

Turning on or cooking in the crock pot is only a D’rabbonon and Ameira L’acum is Mutter Letzorech Godol!

    DaasYochid -“Health,

The Aruch Hashulchan is only matir if it’s an employee, and one of the factors is that a Jew will likely aid in the cooking, which certainly can’t be said in this case.”

The Rishon who this comes from is not Mechalek. Also, the Jew helped by making the Chulent and putting it in the crockpot.

And there is a Kal V’chomer -If an employee is Mutter because you won’t get close to him because he is getting paid, for sure some stranger off the street whom you won’t probably ever see again -you won’t get close to.

“I don’t know who your rov is or what his sources might be; the Shmiras Shabbos K’hilchoso clearly includes an elictric hot plate in the category of “aish”, and the IG”M holds that even a microwave can produce bishul D’oraiso, so even were we to find a source that a covered element is not aish, according to the IG”M it would still be bishul D’oraiso.”

Please don’t bring Rayos from other things. It (crock pot) might be similar to a hot plate, but in No way is it similar to a microwave.

“By the way, the fact that people are paying water and electricity bills does not change the fact they are USING the infrastructure of the ZIONIST state. If I hated the state, I would NOT want to be USING them EVEN if (or especially if) I was paying them.”

ARWSF – My first and only recommendation is to get professional help. Shalom Task Force is a fine option, although they aren’t the only professionals out there. Even if the posters here are mental health professionals -you need s/o with hands on to deal with this.

I know what’s going through your mind -“this is the end of my life, my marriage, etc.” This is most likely Not the case. Early intervention can stop & fix the situation. Financially and educationally Jews flourised in arab lands, for most of the time they were left in peace compared to Europe’s Ashkenazim, but they also from time to time endured persecution and programs, the Iraqi Farhud of 1941 is a middle-eastern example of Kristlenacht carried out by Muslims. R’ Shach said there are two fronts, one on the battlefield, and one in the beis medrash. Yes, both are needed. The soldiers are just as necessary as the guys learning, and we need to appreciate both.”

Excuse me -there is no contradiction!

I’ll give you a Moshul (Parable -for those who don’t understand Hebrew) -There was once a guy who needed desperately to leave town because over there people were looking to kill him Ch’vs -so he hired a wagon with a driver. The wagon got him safely to a different place. He was so happy -he kissed & hugged the driver besides paying him & giving him a big tip.

Acc. to your train of thought – he should have given the money to the wagon itself and the horse.

Similarly here – the army is just the wagon & the horse.

The driver is Hashem. What makes Hashem (the driver) tell the horse & wagon where to go? It’s the Zechusim of Klal Yisroel. They have these many Zechusim because of the Bnei Torah learning Torah. So the only ones that get Hakoras Hatov are the Bnei Torah!

Actually it’s the Freye who are still alive because of all the Zecusim of the Frumme, esp. the guys whom learn Torah all day!

So the Freye have to have Hakoras Hatov to the Bnei Torah!

Where did you learn how to be so Krum???

AinOhdMilvado -“Regardless of your points, (which ARE true) the fact remains that in todays’s world, (without mashiach being here) without the IDF, every Jew, Chareidi and frei, would be exterminated.

Thus the very lives of the anti-Zionist chareidim are dependent on the existence of a Jewish army. If they don’t want to join the IDF, they have that choice, but a little hakaras hatov for being able to wake up in the morning (to protest the ‘medina’) is still an obligation”

Total absolute lies -Read my post to Emmuna 613!

Avi K -“1. Which gedolim? You remind me of the pashkavillim wroiters who sign “harabbanim shelita”. Which rav? The erev rav? Harav im kulam?”

ALL the Gedolim esp. the Chofetz Chaim and all the others you mentioned! BTW, did you ever hear of the Satmar Rebbe and the Brisker Rov?

“2. Learn Tanach – unless your “gedolim” have banned it as Zionistic. David had an army. Learn Gemara. Just as Yoav needed David, David needed Yoav (Sanhedrin 49a)”

There is nothing wrong with a country having an army, but there is something wrong with Jews(?) making a country based on Kefira!

“3. I doubt very much that Rav Shach stood up just because he liked his grandson. He stood up davka when he was in uniform – he stood up for the uniform.”

Naarish -I just told you a story that an army guy told me -he had absolutely no more respect for him than any other Jew who came to him!

“4. Is it also assur to have dealings with the Medina in order to take or just to give?”

Just to give, but actually the Brisker Rov & probably the Satmar Rebbe held it’s also Ossur to take!

“5. Rav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach (I presume thaty ou have heard of him) used to go to Har Herzl to visit kivrei tzaddikim.”

Maybe he went to see Rav Kook’s Kever -I’m sure it wasn’t to see Teddy Hertzl!

“He was very machmir that one should violate Shabbat to make things easier for combat soldiers in wartime.”

So what? Are you trying to tell me if men have to listen to women sing it’s equal to doing things because of Sakana Nefoshos?

The only Sakana Nefoshos there is -the women will scream, kick and shoot at anyone who doesn’t want to listen to them!

ill_be_strong -“In the Yiddish Chofetz Chaim (red cover), its page 129 (Hilchas LH, Klal 3). He says (not quoting word for word):

LH is Assur even the words won’t lead to damage (in whichever from), either because a)the listeners didn’t believe b)the listeners “didn’t get who’s being discussed”. In short, the persons identity is not revealed. He then brings down a Rbainu Yona which explains the concept in details.”

I knew you were making a mistake, but I looked it up anyway (to be sure).

What the C.C. says is that you can’t speak about anyone even if no harm will come to that person. Eg. they aren’t Mekabel what you say.

Of course if you don’t mention a name or a group -IT IS NOT L.S. You have misconstrued the C.C.

I learnt C.C. many times over many years. This is what L.H. or Rechilos is -the party being spoken about -either you mentioned their name or e/o can figure out whom it is -if they wanted to!

cinderella -“ill_be_strong, How in the world is it Lashon hara to tell a story about someone you don’t know? You don’t even know me. And it’s not like I was talking about a specific group of people. Or a specific place.”

Since you didn’t mention the name of the person or a name of a group and noone can figure it out -IT’s NOT L.H.!

cleverjewishpun -“I made the choices I made because there was no room for me in the community and the huge sacrifices I made being frum no longer seemed worth it.

I just didnt see the need to keep up apperences if everyone around me already thought the worst of me.”

Let me ask you a question -Do you have kids? Do you want them to be Frum? Do you want them to suffer Forever? You are setting an example for them.

Even if you don’t, I’m more or less in the same place that you are/where -ya know divorce, loneliness, etc. E/o also thinks the worse of me, but you know what I said to myself -“that’s their problem”. Some people have the need to constantly bash others. IMHO, these are the ones Not Frum. Before my divorce -I cared a lot about others’ opinions -Now I don’t -I (try to) only care about Hashem’s opinion. In reality -that’s all that matters. People are so scared what others will think about them, but Hashem’s opinion – not that much. That’s why there are lot more Ganavim, then Gazlonim, esp. in the Frum community. I never heard of a Frum bank robber! By not having to listen to as many rank outs as I used to when I was married, my self-esteem has grown tremendously. Your value is Not dependent on others’ opinions!

HaLeiVi -“The reason I’m saying that it was consistently harsh under Arab rule is a response to what you say that it would have been fine to live under them, in Eretz Yisroel.

By the way, do you really think Israelis are less safe now, in Eretz Yisroel, than they were in Syria, Iraq, Egypt, or Russia and Poland?”

Excuse me, there was No Syria & Iraq. There was Turkey. And it would have been much better to live under them then these Zionists. As matter of fact, until this recent episode of Israel & the blockade -Turkey was even an ally of Israel!

Avi K -“Sushe, the Zionists di not radicalize the Arabs. In fact, just after the Balfour Declaration the Emir Faisal met witrh Chaim Weizman and expressed support for Zionism from an Islamic perspective similar to what Fundamentalists are saying today although without statements about converting us chas veshalom. The radicalization was carried out by the Mufti of Yerushalayim ym”s, whjo was an admirer of yemach shemo in Germany and had delusions of reestablishing the Caliphate (under his rule, of course). Thus, in Tarpat the Arabs massacred non-Zionist Tora learners in Chevron. The mob included those with whom the Jews had long-standing good personal relations.”

What hypocrisy!!!!! Tell me what religion was the Mufti? Was he perhaps a Muslim???? Why perhaps did this Mufti all of a sudden hate Jews? Maybe it had something to do with certain Jews wanting a state of their own??!?!?!

I posted here 8 months ago on page 2 -I’m for Gingrich.

I have nothing against Santorum, but I don’t think he can win the Republican Primary or the Presidency.

I think it will be either Gingrich or Romney for the Republican candidate.

If Romney wins, I don’t think he can beat Obama. And even if he does -he won’t do any better job than Obama. Gingrich has what it takes to tackle this horrible economy and make a dent in it!
