“But clearly (I would hope) I was talking about the source of the influence”

I agree & disagree with both of you!

The notion that Jews are good and Goyim are bad is the way it’s supposed to be, not the way it is! The Goyim nowadays have put more effort in being PC, even when it comes to medicine, than ever before. The “Frum” Yidden are Not far behind, but they’re some of us who delude themselves! I’ve seen it all. If I would elaborate, it wouldn’t be allowed here!

I’m too old for my mother to get involved & so are my friends.

Golfer -“On a different note, I was very disturbed to read nishtdayng’s reply to Health. Mr nishdayn, perhaps you meant no offense, but I took offense and am worried that most likely Health did as well. To imply that there’s an underlying reason outside of his disability for his lack of success in shidduchim, without knowing him personally, is very wrong.

And to you Health, I think it’s very sad but true that many (if not most) people are reluctant to look past a disability when looking for a husband or wife.”

I believe that you’re both wrong. I had trouble before I got disabled. They look at disability as another Chessorone (problem) amongst others. I know this because I have friends who always get rejected. It’s very common for me & them to get “No” for an answer when it comes to a Shidduch!

Avram in MD -“In my mind, what would need to be doncomesirst is a rapid assessment of the situation. If there was a lot of smoke in the house, or the fire was R”L obviously large, I would not bother with trying to extinguish the fire at all – just get everyone out as fast as possible, keeping low to the ground while moving inside the house. No smoke, I think everyone should be woken up and get out while I run and get a fire extinguisher. If the fire is small, I’d try the extinguisher on it. If it was large (bigger than what I’d make in a backyard fire pit), I would get out.”
