Aa the Chasam Sofer explains this week vesartem min haderech, turning off the way (of mesorah) leads to the worshipping of strange gods, asher lo yedatem, which you are not being cognizant of.

He also explains that we need extra strength to refrain from not eating blood for the right reason because it is forbidden and not because it is repugnant.
Charlie, the Ksav Sofer explains that the honoring of parents should be as commanded in moroh where the parents did not do anything for their child as everything was provided for them, so honor them because Hashem’s commandment and not what they do for you and that is why the yetzer hara resists us from doing the mitzva.

The Shar Ephraim says to wear a hat for being olah to leining. The MB O’CH 91,12 says to wear a hat for davening as there was a custom to care for ones apperance such that people could look up and learn from the behavior of a talmid chacham. It is mentiioned in MB O’CH 8,4 says that davening with talis on the head brings to kavonoh, yiroh and hachnoah as the mashel above. Look at the Rambam Hilchas Yesodei Hatorah (5,11) how a talmid chacham must live up to the expectations otherwise it might be a chilul Hashem.

The Klei Yokor in Bereishis (28,14) on uforatzro yomo vokedmo, you will spread west and east asks why are the directions not in order but opposite to each other? He says it implies as the Midrash that Meshiach will come when we are on the lowest level and we exhausted all avenues having only hope in HKBH in bringing our redemptiion. It says in Tehilim (44,26) ki shocho leofor nafshenu, our soul has bent to the dust , dovko leoretz bitnenu, stuck to the earth is our belly, so we ask kumo esroso lonu ufdenu lemaan chasdecha, redeem us because of your kindness. Trump has brought us to this level, so he gives us hope for the redemption.

There is an argument if Jews have a mazel. The one whoi holds they do, says that mazel determines their fate and nothing (tefila, or zechusim) can change it such that they must play with the cards they were dealt with. The other who holds that there is no mazel says that tefilla and zechusim affect the mazel, therefore they are not fated and they can change the cards they were dealt with.

I think theyv have a responsibility to be witness. Goldilocks, I will explain in English. The Rambam says that in certain situations we force the husband to divorce the wife because this marriage is bad for them. The idea is that person wants to obey and follow the Torah but the yetzer hara, bad inclinatiion, makes him resist. When we physically force him, we knock out the yetzer hara from him and restore his original will. Similarly, the witnesses are physically forced to follow the Torah and being instrumental in killing him by removing the murderer. The Torah on Mount Sinai was given by an act force of threatening to bury them under the mountain applying the same logic.

The malach teaches the child the Torah in the mothers womb and then he forgets it. This shows that he has the ability to learn it. I heard a logic that the child is in aveilus (not cuting hair) for forgetting the Torah, so they don’t cut it until he can learn Torah again at age three when he can start talking clearly.

We should not say אלהינו למעשה ידינו don’t worship your actions of your hands. In Parashas Voeschanan, Moshe Rabbenu warns that we should not forget Hashem when receiving houses and fields without any effort and work. Which is interesting. Do you forget Hashem more when you acquire something with your effort or gain it for free?

You remind me of an essay from Helen Keller on the appreciation of the eyes called Three Days to See describing how people don’t appreciate their sight and what she would want to see, if she had her eye sight back for three days. People don’t appreciate what they have to thank Hashem only ch’v after they lose it.

Kidnapping someone would be the gavra the cheftza. This could be why it is indicated in lo signov, no nignav, singular, whereas stealing something from someone involves two individuals, the ganev and the nignav, so it says lo signovu, plural.

So they must honor shabbos by eating and drinking. Shamor for baalei batim who are busy the whole week emphasizing to stop working on shabbos and set time for learning.
