The RMA says from the Yerushami in SA O’CH 290,2 that baal batim busy working the whole week should emphasize learning Torah on shabbos where as yeshiva leit who learn the whole week should put some emphasis on eating and drinking. shinah beshabbos taanig either learning or sleeping.

The difference is pointed out by the Klei Yokor in Parashas Yisro that Zachor the creatiion of the world and resting the seventh day applies to tne goyim also who are required also to make some commemoration for shabbos whereas Shamor remembering Yetzias Mitzraim and refraining from the work done in Mitzraim as Tosfas in Arbah Pesochum (perech in AT-BASH is Vgal adding up to 39) only applies to the Jews.

How did Avraham Avinu know that hachnosas orchim comes before kabolas hashchina before Kabolas Hatorah?
They say that 613 body parts are against the 613 mitzvos as in the end of Koheles, his legs carried him towards the orchim.

Its a halacha in SA YD when one sits shiva l’a, and a his rebbi comes in, when he wants to get up, the rebbi should not tell him, don’t get up as it gives an impressiion not to get up from the shiva.

Before the sin of the Eitz Hadaas there was an innocence like children. We did not need physical action to perform mitzvos as the mind was clean. Someone on the level of navi regains this innocence as King Shaul was shedding his clothing when he prophesized.

The Dubner Magid interprets the above Hilel with a mashel. A young man hired his uncle as a financial advisor.
He constantly told him that he is losing money. Eventially he had enough. The young man went to someone else. He was told, separate yourself from your uncle as he is a ganev and pocketing the money. The interpretatiion is, whoever has hatred towards you, don’t make him your friend. This refers to the yetzer hara.
He acts like a friend but realy he is your enemy. When go out to the battle, know that you are fighting your enemy. Recognizing this, you will succeed and Hashem will give him into your hands to defeat him.

I said, if Hashem would have said no, they would have said, what is He hiding? They put Hashem kavayochel in a vice where what ever He does is a problem, so He did not command to do either side. The problem was according to the Rav Abarbanel and Maasei Hashem that they publicized their findings.

The Dubner Magid explains that a person might go to a beis din for two different reasons. Either to make sure that the other did not take something that belongs to me or I did not take something that belongs to him. Moshe Rabbenu said to Yisro, if they have a dispute, he comes to me. Should have said, they come? As he is arguing in the second case behalf his friend, one side is enough to come. The Chasan Sofer explains that their dispute comes to my heart to act on it.

Another reason why stealing by the dor hababul was so grave to destroy the whole creation on it is that one denies a ruler over him saying leis din veleis dayin. By nilah on Yom Kippur, one averah is specified stealing from Hashem by using his providence for our own purpose and not for His service.

There is a difference between chukim and mishpotim. By chazir it says don’t say I don’t like chazir but say I like it but Hashem forbade it. This does not apply by stealing which is self understood that it is wrong as the Ibn Ezra says not to desire what belongs to someone else as a villager does not desire a princess, being out of his reach.

Moshe Rabbenu knew that they are strong so why did he asks them to see if they are strong if not that they should realize it themselves that they need Hashem’s help to conquer them, so he wanted them to arrive to the conclusion.

We can demonstrate wearing a hat with a mashel from the Dubner Magid. A king took in a young man and provided for him all his needs. The king had a favorite robe that he enjoyed wearing. Once they look around and both the young man and robe are missing. They find him hiding in a pit wearing the king’s favorite robe.
He says, I am hiding because after all the king has done for me, I am ashamed to show my face stealing the king’s robe. We want to cover our face being ashamed infront of Hashem for denying His good provided to us by stealing it from Him using it for the wrong purpose. This is the MB above O’CH 8,4 covering our face with a talis or a hat.

The Dubner Magid explains the idea of maaser. There was a complaint that people should not be provided more than necessary for survival. So if a person gives the survival amount for maaser, he will be blessed by ten times the amount otherwise he is only provided that amount.

It is qouted in the Bnei Yisoschor that the 13 midos of Hashem go with the 13 midos of darush such that a kal vechomer goes with E’l. What is this kal vechomer? When we take out a Sefer Torah by mistake, we must roll it to the right place and NOT return it in order not to pogam (ashame) it, so how we must watch not to ashame a fellow Jew, who has a neshama, a chelek alokai mimaal.

in reply to: Masei — The Value of Life #1882089

The Chasam Sofer shows us the greatness of the neshama. The mishkan is the highest level of keshusha but its building does not push shabbos aside. However, the human being because of his neshama, to save him/her, does push shabbos aside.

There is a wonderous Ohr Hachaim Hakadash on Parshas Ki Siso quoted by the Mincha Chinuch (39,39) on veshomru that you can only save someone on shabbos, if laasos es hashabos, he can observe another shabbos. What about a chayei shaah? The minchas chinuch explains that he only says this when we know that shabbos is pushed aside to save a jew from this pasuk but if we go after Shmuel that this is derived fron vechai bohem velo sheyomus bohem that includes even a chayei shaah.

I have proof from the fact that the Beis Hilel allowed the Beis Shamai to make their view known before they revealed their view as an indicatiion of their humility. President Trump fired everyone of his great advisors including General Matis. If you sure about yourself, you are not afraid to hear an opposing view which might reveal your lack of knowledge. This only indicates an inferiority complex. None of the previous presidents behaved this way.

Our president Trump is a know at all who fires and isolates anyone disagreeing with him including Dr. Falci rather than wanting to hear their ideas. Therefore, he is responsible for the corona. A smart person knows what he doesn’t know and looks for the best advice.
