147, I’m sorry, I do not follow
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI like my reply
popa_bar_abbaParticipantYes, I oisgehert
popa_bar_abbaParticipantWe’ll trade some chocolate chips for some cookies?
Also, for the record, sauteing in butter is the credited response. If I ever become vegetarian, it will be so that I can eat everything with butter.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantmy wife still knows better
popa_bar_abbaParticipantOh, just kill him already and stop hocking us.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantYes.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantkach onin es hameukos?
popa_bar_abbaParticipantThe one place in the world where get yelled at for drinking beer, but nobody stops you from drinking all that there is in the house.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI apparently still haven’t been vaccinated for troll.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantrd: Do you think it would help to put it in a cast iron dutch oven?
(on that topic, should I get enameled, or non-enameled.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantTorah4me’s comment is a good example of poe’s law
popa_bar_abbaParticipantCould be. But I only know about wilson county in tennessee.
So, should I make a credit card claim against the first one?
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI don’t know if you do everywhere, but in Wilson county you do.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantShe is doing the world a chessed by getting the money away from the retards.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantImagine it like this: Suppose you are a professional chef making chicago style deep dish pizza in cast iron skillets. You know how to make the recipe, and you know based on how you make each recipe how it is going to turn out differently. And you make each one the way that you intend for it to turn out. And it certainly does turn out that way. But that doesn’t mean also that it had to turn out that way, and the proof is that if I made the same pizza it would probably turn out differently.
So this situation is the same thing (assuming I made both).
popa_bar_abbaParticipantPopa, probably someone like the guy your son ate the Shabbos seudah by, only single.
Chas v’shalom!
That guy was a learning boy. He was in yeshiva while he dated, and then got an apartment by the yeshiva, and then started working only after sheva brachos.
You think I would let my son eat by a working boy??
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI’m actually curious what people mean by “working” boy.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantIt’s catching on!!
I just saw her referred to as Rabbah Weiss on a different website. Lol
December 20, 2013 1:10 pm at 1:10 pm in reply to: You are tuned to WCOF all the Coffee Room news all the time #1002634popa_bar_abbaParticipantLol good idea.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantHere it is. I didn’t look at it yet http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/romantic-songs
popa_bar_abbaParticipantSo does kol isha for a penuya not start until she’s a gedola then?
popa_bar_abbaParticipantYou mean plastic surgery?
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI once had a thread about this which joseph was kind of mad in
popa_bar_abbaParticipantSure, I bet the chofetz chaim had tons of songs on his ipod.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI did already shekalim. Just before all you big fat jerks didn’t tell me to skip rosh hashana.
See. I understand why it snowed last friday–it is a b’feirush daf yomi. I just don’t know how you big fat jerks knew the gemara
popa_bar_abbaParticipantSo I figure, if I can just get enough money to have 1001 cities and 1001 boats, they won’t have taynos on me for not learning enough. So I’m working on it.
But that’s not why I’m behind on daf yomi. No, that’s because you’re all BIG FAT JERKS
HTH
popa_bar_abbaParticipant“Gorgeous songs”? Songs aren’t gorgeous. Torah is gorgeous, mitzvos are gorgeous. But who ever describes a song as gorgeous?
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI am amazed by the number of people here who can conclude that something is not in the yershalmi on the basis that they don’t remember it.
The lubavitcher rebbe I understand–he knew it from the same place the yerushalmi didn’t.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI know there is hashgacha pratis, but I find the stories stupid.
Every flight has some people who just miss it. Some flights crash.
Some lotteries have a winning ticket. Someone has to hold it.
December 17, 2013 7:01 pm at 7:01 pm in reply to: Where can I find a kosher flavor injector? #994437popa_bar_abbaParticipantWhat’s a flavor injector
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI am also annoyed by this thread, as I noted earlier.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantHow is that a chassidishe maaseh? Are dreams chassidish? Are getchke’s chassidish? Why do you need to make fun of the story just because one of the characters in the story happened to be chassidish. If the guy was having dreams and they did find a cross, why can’t you just take the facts as they appear? Nobody is forcing you to take an interpretation of the facts, but how do facts become chassidish?
Is the following a chassidishe maaseh: A chossid once was walking down 18th avenue, and he went into Mendelsohns and ate pizza.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantNisht nisht. This thread IS the salt for all my other threads.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantCharlie: I’m surprised at you, giving Mandela a pass on his anti-Israel, pro-terrorism stance. It is against daas torah!!!!!!!
(Maharat Weiss had a column on shabbos in Forward calling Mandela out on this, and writes about how he protested Mandela when he visited NYC.)
popa_bar_abbaParticipantRambam wrote that you can learn and be erlich ONLY if you work.
Oddly, I’ve never heard this Rambam applied to someone who worked but didn’t learn.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantSome of you seem to have a very “entitled” attitude. Who says you are entitled to get this thread?
You shouldn’t be surprised if people respond to you accordingly.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantAnyone who disagrees with heretohelp is racist.
What a racist world we live in.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantWell really having kids with someone else afterwards is the part that causes mamzeirus.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantWho said ant-semite? I said rasha. I don’t care if it was caused by anti-semitism or stam rishuus.
And I’m not exactly sure what the great things I’m supposed to be respecting are that balance it. Standing up for yourself doesn’t make you great; standing up for other people is where you can be great. And that’s where he failed, and just imputed his own biases to everyone else.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantFTR: I agree with Gingrich’s comments. But that isn’t my criticism. My criticism is that mandela then decided that terrorism was the solution to every conflict and that the party doing the terrorism was always in the right.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantMore important was his attitude towards Jews and Israel as an internationally respected leader, and by all accounts he was quite positive at that time.
By what accounts?
popa_bar_abbaParticipantOn February 27, 1990, shortly after being released from prison, when Arafat came and joined him at the Pan-African summit, Mandela described him as: “our friend and comrade . . . like us, fighting against a unique form of colonialism.”
It appears he never called Israel apartheid though.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantFunnybone: when you’re my age, they are still considered young. (And you’re considered a toddler)
popa_bar_abbaParticipantSir Moses: You think I’m racist because I object to someone who supported the cause of killing my people?
Funny definition of racism you got there, sonny.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantWhy? Do you disagree?
popa_bar_abbaParticipantDon’t call me a midwesterner either. Call me a Nor’easter
popa_bar_abbaParticipantI think he was a rasha gamur, and I’m really glad he’s dead.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantThe menahel agreed with me. He said from now on my son will be able to eat in yeshiva by himself.
popa_bar_abbaParticipantfully bored, FTFY
