Imagine it like this: Suppose you are a professional chef making chicago style deep dish pizza in cast iron skillets. You know how to make the recipe, and you know based on how you make each recipe how it is going to turn out differently. And you make each one the way that you intend for it to turn out. And it certainly does turn out that way. But that doesn’t mean also that it had to turn out that way, and the proof is that if I made the same pizza it would probably turn out differently.
So this situation is the same thing (assuming I made both).

I am also annoyed by this thread, as I noted earlier.
How is that a chassidishe maaseh? Are dreams chassidish? Are getchke’s chassidish? Why do you need to make fun of the story just because one of the characters in the story happened to be chassidish. If the guy was having dreams and they did find a cross, why can’t you just take the facts as they appear? Nobody is forcing you to take an interpretation of the facts, but how do facts become chassidish?

And I’m not exactly sure what the great things I’m supposed to be respecting are that balance it. Standing up for yourself doesn’t make you great; standing up for other people is where you can be great. And that’s where he failed, and just imputed his own biases to everyone else.
FTR: I agree with Gingrich’s comments. But that isn’t my criticism. My criticism is that mandela then decided that terrorism was the solution to every conflict and that the party doing the terrorism was always in the right.
More important was his attitude towards Jews and Israel as an internationally respected leader, and by all accounts he was quite positive at that time.
