I wasn’t going to hang up my kesuba for reasons of tnius but then my dad presented it to me surrounded by a painting of yerushalayim he made as the border. Tnius did not win out. Maybe I’ll add a tichel.
TAOM – I can’t imagine that you asked it removed for that reason! I assumed the mods removed it to protect your identity. You don’t need to apologize for hurting and for being in a situation that most people here couldn’t even fathom. If they don’t want to read it – click – it’s gone. Not your worry.
There is a poster here who was very well liked whose went through some of that with a parent but for very different reasons. I wish he could be here still to give you some very first hand advice.
I just would like to know if now that these secrets aren’t so secret, if someone will make sure you find someone to talk to. PLEASE don’t go it alone!
If you pay attention to why she returned, you may realize that this thread is a bit insensitive and out of place.
TAOM – Try, instead, to be VERY selective about what threads you open. Open the fun ones and the funny ones. Don’t open subjects that you don’t feel strong enough to deal with. It sounds harder than it is. At first it was a small struggle, but right now I can’t shoulder anymore pain so I stay away from threads that hurt too much.
We will try to be here for you. I assume the other thread was removed for your protection so I will just say that I daven you find support from someone somewhere, and FAST!

Unfortunately for me, the reason I’m here is usually to keep me off of other sites during meetings (I love unsolved murder stories and can read dateline transcripts for hours if left without conscience). So being here is the better of the choices at this time. I have seriously limited the threads I will open, though, for the very reason AOM has mentioned and she has given me much chizuk!

AOM – I am unbelievably impressed that you are able to see this issue and do something about it. I can only daven that my own children should have such insight to their nisyonos and strength. Qazxc – you know I thought the same thing when I saw the thread. Then I read that she has learning issues and opted for mentchlich.
When a person has learning issues, studying for 100 won’t help if the test is administered without the necessary accommodations or modifications. If you have documented LD, you can get accommodations from your college to make sure you are getting the support you need.
My advice – Study til you feel like your brain is full and then go eat ice cream. That should work.

I remember finding a sealed bag of chocolate chanuka gelt. When I looked more closely I saw that a mouse had chewed a tiny hole and had eaten all the chocolate out, leaving a seemingly sealed bag of gold foil circles.

(to reiterate my previous post) I will NOT profess to know I am right, I admit I am making an assumption. But I would put money down that you are speaking from emotion and theory, not first hand experience. For that you are blessed, and should be grateful.

I think you are making a lot of assumptions. An assumption I will make is that you are fortunate and blessed not to be speaking from any personal knowledge or experience.
WIY – I can’t imagine why more sensitivity should/would be given to that teacher than to some of the other people who get blasted here, including restaurant owners and authors, who sure deserve it more than she does.
ikno – Yea, I was kind of disappointed myself because I disagreed with most of the responses you received and was hoping to add my own two cents.
I think the saying goes, “keep your eyes on the prize” When something is hard for me to change, and so much is, I remind myself how good I always feel after crossing that bridge. I remind myself how proud I know Hashem is with me for working on myself, and then I tell myself that it is not really so effortful as I think, that the discouragement is coming from the Yetzer Hora trying to dupe me. That last thought gives me the push to want to one-up him. (I guess I am still operating on a primal level)

I am sure I wouldn’t be disappointed at all. Your pictures indicate a similar love for nature as my husband, and I have a son who has taken on a serious passion for photography. I would just enjoy the conversation from the other side of the machitza.

None of us, obviously. But considering ZK is a man and you are presenting yourself as a teenage female, “hanging out” with other teenage females I can’t say it is a comfortable thought.
I may be wrong but based on our posts, writing style,etc. if I met you in real life I think you would look a lot like ZK, the Golem, Oh Shrek and . . .

my sisters classmates bought 100 very beautiful laminated bentchers and made a bentcher gmach in her zchus. It is used for sheva brachos or seudas that are not wedding-size and the host wouldn’t need to spend extra on bentchers. I think they are $3 each.
I get a very different impression.

I actually heard him give that lecture many years ago and read it again in that book. I DO want to answer but can’t from my ipad. If I can get my act together, I would love to offer my own thoughts.

Sf- we do one to two loads a day. I usually change into something else while I wash everything at once
Secular- I do laundry AND wear the same skirt everyday.
I do, but I have three of them.
