streekgeek – I vote for not bothering
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantyuck! Just another way of crossing that line without crossing it.

🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantPersimmon is the name of the color of paint I used this summer to paint my den.
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantTorah- I’m pretty proud of my dad and his work so it was a big problem.
Getzel1- most probably was my house. I have gedolei hador over regularly.

November 4, 2013 3:52 am at 3:52 am in reply to: What time an 18-year-old bachur should be home motzei Shabbos? #985211🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantWIY – just curious, you are definitely older than 18, but IIRC you are not married or old enough to have an 18 year old. What made you ask?
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantAmen, to you too!
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantI wasn’t going to hang up my kesuba for reasons of tnius but then my dad presented it to me surrounded by a painting of yerushalayim he made as the border. Tnius did not win out. Maybe I’ll add a tichel.
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantTAOM – I can’t imagine that you asked it removed for that reason! I assumed the mods removed it to protect your identity. You don’t need to apologize for hurting and for being in a situation that most people here couldn’t even fathom. If they don’t want to read it – click – it’s gone. Not your worry.
There is a poster here who was very well liked whose went through some of that with a parent but for very different reasons. I wish he could be here still to give you some very first hand advice.
I just would like to know if now that these secrets aren’t so secret, if someone will make sure you find someone to talk to. PLEASE don’t go it alone!
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantIf you pay attention to why she returned, you may realize that this thread is a bit insensitive and out of place.
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantTAOM – Try, instead, to be VERY selective about what threads you open. Open the fun ones and the funny ones. Don’t open subjects that you don’t feel strong enough to deal with. It sounds harder than it is. At first it was a small struggle, but right now I can’t shoulder anymore pain so I stay away from threads that hurt too much.
We will try to be here for you. I assume the other thread was removed for your protection so I will just say that I daven you find support from someone somewhere, and FAST!

🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantI’m thinking of getting a degree from a very well-regarded college
would that be through mail-order?
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantUnfortunately for me, the reason I’m here is usually to keep me off of other sites during meetings (I love unsolved murder stories and can read dateline transcripts for hours if left without conscience). So being here is the better of the choices at this time. I have seriously limited the threads I will open, though, for the very reason AOM has mentioned and she has given me much chizuk!
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantIf she’s popa’s wife I can’t imagine she’s botheredby gaava.

🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantAOM – I am unbelievably impressed that you are able to see this issue and do something about it. I can only daven that my own children should have such insight to their nisyonos and strength. May Hashem reward this move with tremendous hatzlacha and bracha and endless emuna shleima!!!!!! Don’t look back, you won’t be sorry!
October 31, 2013 11:57 pm at 11:57 pm in reply to: At what point is it considered studying too much? #985110🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantQazxc – you know I thought the same thing when I saw the thread. Then I read that she has learning issues and opted for mentchlich.
October 31, 2013 9:50 pm at 9:50 pm in reply to: At what point is it considered studying too much? #985109🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantWhen a person has learning issues, studying for 100 won’t help if the test is administered without the necessary accommodations or modifications. If you have documented LD, you can get accommodations from your college to make sure you are getting the support you need.
My advice – Study til you feel like your brain is full and then go eat ice cream. That should work.

🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantI remember finding a sealed bag of chocolate chanuka gelt. When I looked more closely I saw that a mouse had chewed a tiny hole and had eaten all the chocolate out, leaving a seemingly sealed bag of gold foil circles.
One spring we reached into a cabinet for a bag of birdseed we had placed there the previous fall. The bag was a pile of shreds, and the bottom of the cabinet was lined with hulls from 10 pounds of birdseed. It must have fed the whole neighborhood with that find. Months later we moved the stove and found a huge pile (maybe a gallon jug full) of seeds, food, scraps and even chunks of mouse poison next to a fluffy ole nest. Life of Riley. All that he lacked was the golden goblet of wine!
My friend gave me a picture of a certain Rebbe to hang up and they haven’t been seen since.
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipant(to reiterate my previous post) I will NOT profess to know I am right, I admit I am making an assumption. But I would put money down that you are speaking from emotion and theory, not first hand experience. For that you are blessed, and should be grateful.
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantBe grateful
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantI think you are making a lot of assumptions. An assumption I will make is that you are fortunate and blessed not to be speaking from any personal knowledge or experience.
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantWIY – I can’t imagine why more sensitivity should/would be given to that teacher than to some of the other people who get blasted here, including restaurant owners and authors, who sure deserve it more than she does.
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantikno – Yea, I was kind of disappointed myself because I disagreed with most of the responses you received and was hoping to add my own two cents.
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantI think the saying goes, “keep your eyes on the prize” When something is hard for me to change, and so much is, I remind myself how good I always feel after crossing that bridge. I remind myself how proud I know Hashem is with me for working on myself, and then I tell myself that it is not really so effortful as I think, that the discouragement is coming from the Yetzer Hora trying to dupe me. That last thought gives me the push to want to one-up him. (I guess I am still operating on a primal level)
Love the question, thanks.

October 27, 2013 2:24 pm at 2:24 pm in reply to: If you spoke with a stranger and they seemed like _____ poster, would you ask? #983512🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantI am sure I wouldn’t be disappointed at all. Your pictures indicate a similar love for nature as my husband, and I have a son who has taken on a serious passion for photography. I would just enjoy the conversation from the other side of the machitza.
October 27, 2013 4:51 am at 4:51 am in reply to: If you spoke with a stranger and they seemed like _____ poster, would you ask? #983510🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantYou would have to be standing awfully close to someone posting on their phone to know what site they are on, let alone see how they are logged in.
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantI wash the skin and bake it. Then I take the skin off.
October 25, 2013 5:07 pm at 5:07 pm in reply to: If you spoke with a stranger and they seemed like _____ poster, would you ask? #983501🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantI would be happy to know you in real life, Wolf. You sound like a very interesting person.
October 25, 2013 3:23 pm at 3:23 pm in reply to: If you spoke with a stranger and they seemed like _____ poster, would you ask? #983498🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantSame here.
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantNone of us, obviously. But considering ZK is a man and you are presenting yourself as a teenage female, “hanging out” with other teenage females I can’t say it is a comfortable thought.
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantI may be wrong but based on our posts, writing style, etc. if I met you in real life I think you would look a lot like ZK, the Golem, Oh Shrek and . . .
Just my personal thought, not an accusation or anything.

It is used for sheva brachos or seudas that are not wedding-size and the host wouldn’t need to spend extra on bentchers. I think they are $3 each.
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantI get a very different impression.
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantI miss reading posts from BPTotty.
🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantI actually heard him give that lecture many years ago and read it again in that book. I DO want to answer but can’t from my ipad. If I can get my act together, I would love to offer my own thoughts.
October 24, 2013 1:39 pm at 1:39 pm in reply to: If Jewish writers are so good, why don't they publish secular? #983542🍫Syag LchochmaParticipantcatch yourself – you must think very highly of yourself if you can speak so negatively so freely about so many people.
MODS – this is not just opinions on books, these comments are Lashon Horah about many many individuals and could possibly discourage people from more appropriate reading. PLEASE reconsider posting these types of comments!!!
