Daas, it’s hard to put a “rental agreement” on the cover. “Reference” to it is insufficient. Unless the entirety of the “agreement” is visible prior to purchase, it is not binding.

If the customer opens the CD and the “agreement” says that in order to use this CD you just “rented” the purchaser is required to first dunk in the Arizal’s mikveh 7 times, is the customer unable to ever play his CD until then? If he doesn’t agree to that term (which he never saw until he opened the CD package) will the store take back the opened CD? If not, the “agreement” is not binding.

Why did the blonde get so excited after she finished her jigsaw puzzle in only 6 months? Because on the box it said From 2-4 years.

Why can’t blondes take coffee breaks? They’re too hard to re-train.

When is the customer given the rental agreement? Before purchase or after opening the package? The latter would be non-binding unless a return would accepted if the agreement is unacceptable to the customer.

Sleep little, as everyone will get to catch up on all the sleep they need in the cemetery. It is for an eternity.

How can the producer impose terms of sale on the purchaser, unless the customer is provided a copy of what he is agreeing to PRIOR to making the purchase? If the terms are not spelled out to the CD buyer prior to his purchase, they cant be binding on him. (Unless he can return the opened CD if he doesn’t agree to the terms specified after opening the package. But I don’t think any producer or store will take back an open CD.)

It is a chiyuv to stand up.

“Support” and “patriotic” are not synonymous.

And can you name some of the many Gedolim? And specifically what they said.

Yet according to the poskim that disallow it, someone who does it — even with a rabbi’s permission — is causing the lav m’doraysa of chillul Shabbos.

Jews are obligated to support the country they live in. Being patriotic is not just a nice thing, it is a chiyuv.

I am as patriotic as they come, but where is this so-called “chiyuv” mentioned in Shulchan Aruch? (And I don’t mean paying taxes or following the law.)

Even forgetting the punishment for violating Shabbos is very severe and it is quite difficult to imagine a justification to enable someone else to violate it, it is counterintuitive to supposedly invite someone for ‘kiruv’ to allegedly get them to keep Shabbos — by having them violate the very Shabbos you’re supposedly trying to convince them to keep!

The Wolf is correct. G-d was *added* to the pledge. The pledge includes a reference to G-d.

    That is a good thing.

Goq – Mod 80 didn’t claim that he is always right. Nor did he even claim he is correct on this issue. (But others have said he is right.)

Will sellers/manufacturers of electronics be held liable k’lapai shemaya… when these items are used in forbidden ways?

If it was foreseeable that a notable amount of the usage would be in a forbidden manner.

Smartcookie, it is better than many divorces and unhappy marriages. Is it true that by the Chassidim, there are more divorces? Or they just stay married so that the street should not talk?

    POSTED 20 MINUTES AGO #

Make up your mind mdd. Do you hate Chasidim because they have “more divorces” (which is factually inaccurate – they have much less) – or because you prefer to make a baseless allegation they “stay married” so people shouldn’t talk? You are making contradictory claims — both without evidence and factually false.

I surely hope only girls see these shows. I trust they are NOT videotaped.

It is bad enough that the standards have fallen to the point where they are picking up non-Jewish styles and forgoing tznius, but at least I would hope they have the common sense to not record it.
