How far should we take it though? Maybe they shouldn’t give a hashgachah to any varieties of Jolly Rancher because one may confuse one with another?

Her’s an idea I believe is used by the Eida Hachareidis. When they make a run of an item which normally has a different hechsher, the labeling for the item is changed noticeably.

In EY you can find 2 containers of Tnuva cheese side by side with different hechsheirim. The Eida cheese will have a wide gold stripe across the cover. In America you can find Paskesz candy with the Eida hechsher. On those packages the company logo is changed and say in large letters ‘Paskesz Badatz’.

Something like that can definitely be useful for products which have kosher & non-kosher versions.

The correct (although not literal) translation for “vi glicklech is der vos Der Shabbos heet er” is, how fortunate is he who keeps the Shabbos, not whom the Shabbos protects.

I would say that your translation is literal too; for the latter translation would work only if the phrase was “heet em” not “heet er”.

You can easily have a technical solution by scheduling the boys and girls schools to start the school day half an hour (or however long) apart so that it is impractical to have the boys schools students picked up at the same time as the girls schools students.

It seems that it doesn’t work that way. The monitor can say what times busing will be provided and the schools will have to work around that. (Watch the youtube video titled “BOE State Monitor Announces Coed Busing for 2015 2016” )

From a commentor over at Jewish Music Report who seems to really know his stuff:

For anyone who grew up in the late 70’s or early 80’s,

there are numerous references and voices that are slipped

in. See if you can find these:

    -President Richard Nixon

    -Yogi Bear and BooBoo

    -Tennessee Tuxedo and Chumly

    -Yippee, Yappy, and Yahooey

    -Darth Vader

    -613 Torah Avenue

    -the Banana Splits TV show

    -Wicked witch from Oz

    -The seven dwarfs

    -Casper the friendly ghost

I dont have any idea where these are in the tape besides for the ones discussed earlier in the thread. I would guess the seven dwarves is where Achashverosh asks his advisors what to do with Vashti.

As for the C-section question, I asked that to a Rav, as my oldest is a boy who was born via c-section. I was told that all the halachos are the same except for pidyon haben

The comment of Health above should not have been said even as a joke. It is reminiscent of “Lama Zeh Li B’chorah” said by Eisav – “Vayivez Eisav es Habechora”.

Toras Aba brings an answer b’sheim R’ Chaim Kanievsky.

The first 7 days have a halacha NOT to do milah (besides for the lack of a mitzvah to do it then) so there are 8 days of milah.

Assuming that you’re trying to view the file in Windows, try these instructions from Microsoft:

    1) Open Region and Language by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking Region and Language.

    2) Click the Administrative tab, and then, under Language for non-Unicode programs, click Change system locale. If you’re prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3) Select the language, and then click OK.

To restart your computer, click Restart now.

Rav Ezriel Auerbach (in the Yated a few weeks ago) said something similar to what Machshiv Torah wrote (sans caps lock). It therefore applies to cancer specifically & not other illnesses.

I just wonder if the Ford Taurus should be called Yeneh Car.

There can be problems even with other people in the building if in the particular room its considered yichud.

In some instances the teachers wanted her door kept locked so other students wouldnt run in.

Its important to raise awareness of this issue.

A relative of mine works as a speech therapist in public schools which are not local. At the start of every semester she gives all the details to her Rav, including amount & ages of the students in each group, who else has access to the room, windows in the room & in the door, whether the door is locked or not, etc.

A number of times the Rav has told her that she must rearrange the group or change rooms.

Many who work in these fields are unaware of the potential issurim that are involved. Always ask your Rav!

    Rav Lubin – BMG

“A group of Yungerleit brought a Keurig Coffee Brewer to Harav Shlomo Lubin Shlita at BMG moments ago, to inquire about the Toveling requirements for the popular coffee machine. Reb Lubin Shlita Paskened, that the machine-which brews the coffee by inserting the small pre-filled cups- must be Toveled.”

B’einai Ro’isi a letter which one of the chashuvei tamidei chachomim had written to R’ Chaim Shlita asking why the name Shira is worse than any Yiddish name. R’ Chaim had written his answer on it, and although I don’t remember it kilshoinoi, it was to the effect of “Shem Zeh Himtzi’uhu Horeshoi’m”.

I don’t know what he meant but he’ll answer any of your questions. The address is 23 Rechov Rashbam, Bnei Brak ISRAEL

I’m really tired of all the Vista-bashing. Have any of you actually tried it for more than a week?

I’ve actually found Vista to be easier to navigate than XP (breadcrumbs in Explorer, Start Search, etc.), besides having more eye-candy. The driver problems are a thing of the past; by now there should be Vista Drivers for basically all your hardware.

If the User Account Control bugs you to much (& for the average user with Vista SP1, it isn’t as bad as it used to be) you can use TweakUAC .
