my parents understand the specific needs of their children and respect the chumros of sons in law, i think all smart parents would do the same. I do know of a marriage that broke up R”l when someone insisted on “brucking” his machine matzah at his son in law’s hand only no brucking table. watch out!!

may i add some more place to be machmir in this subject. most of us will remember the “hole in the cow stomach” tumult. it was allowed by most kashrus organizations, but one posek did not allow and since his CY company was going to be machmir, all others followed, so as not to be of an inferior kashrus standard and lose the market. When you use Chalav Stam (as it should be called) you automatically enter into the safek of Chalav Treifa. just food for the thought. 🙂

FYI the opinion of Rav Aurbach, is not his own, but a reflection of that of the Brisker Rav as well as Rav Shach, those who argue are reading strange understandings into the words of the (undisputed) leaders of the last generation.

If there was, I never noticed it.
It would better be said that the culture of the yeshiva is to learn and to be into the learning, everyone likes to fit in.

By the way, the three hour chumash shiur was entertaining, and never felt like a burden.

Having learned by Reb Tzvi for a number of years, I can say there is pressure, but not in a stifling way. I never heard him speak against any individual. He honestly worries about every talmid in the yeshiva, and isn’t afraid to give them mussar if he feel they can gain from it. He also takes a personal interest in every Bochur and Yungerman, often paying for extras, like beit Hachalama for their wives after birth, and even sometimes presents for a bochur’s Kallah which his parents didn’t pay for.
as for locking the door for shiur, in five years, I was never locked out and I never had to walk out.

first of all ????? ????? can appear in 2 ways, when he comes in “the flesh”, like a ???? he is bound by the rules of a body, and can eat etc. the ???? says he cannot come on ??? because of the ???? problem. however he can also come as a ???? like we say ????? ???? ?????, then he is not bound by all the rule, and can be in more than one place at once.

second of all the ???? to open the door after benching at the seder has other reasons as well the ??? ???? says that it is a ??? ????? ???that was eaten in ??? ??? and was ???? to take out of the house, but after benching they would leave the houses and go up to the roof.

thirdly i can list many things you learned as a kid that are dead wrong!!

the ??? ???? over there explains how the kemayos work. BTW do you know that they say that the Besht never used ????? in his kemayos, the previous Skulener Rebbe wrote a kemayah for someone with just the word ??? and that man survived the war and lived a long life afterwards, i just want to point out that kemayos are not necessarily a fair example of kaballa masis

The ??? ???? in ?????? ??”? ??”? says that elisha hanavi could have used kaballah and did not, instead he used just davening, the Arizal also warns not to try, the risks of practical kaballah are too great.

a yungerman once asked Rav Shach Ztl if his wife can go to a shuir to learn, since at the age of 40 she is not a risk of going off the derech if she will not learn torah. Rav Shach answered that “now that we’ve made our girls into boys, (by teaching them this much) a girl needs to learn torah to get a sipuk in yidishkite” i don’t know however if gemorah is the answer

wiceleceni (eichman’s man in Slovakia) told Rabbi Weismandel that when hitler heard of the boycott he got mad, fell on the floor in a temper, bit the carpet, and swore to kill every last one of them” the deer part was not recorded by Rav Weissmandel.

to you DaMoshe if someone was saved by a priest or nun do you think he should become a cathlic for hakaras hatov. i don’t even think he should sent the church an $18 check in gratitude!

If your non belief in gilgulim comes from studying the works of the Rambam or Rabanu Saadya Gaon, then you are justified in your position. However if you just don’t like the idea, or you think that it is not fair ??????, then you might just be a ??? who doubts the torah, because you have decided what the torah says according to your own emotions. BIG NO NO

as a former teacher i can tell u there is no simple way to stop bulling completely it is by recess, lunchroom, halls etc. teachers usually only can step in at an advanced stage. but a zero tolerance ruble is a good one.

the hebrew ??????? was translated in the times of the ?????? so ??”? saw it, but the original was written in greek, first it was translated to latin (some say by Josephus himself) and in the 1700’s it was translated into english as well.

as far as ????? ????? the halachah is a ? that is petrified, (ie even if it were to be soaked in water for 24 hours it would still be dry and hard) is not ???? at all

the ???? says in ??? ??? that moshiach will come at the end of the shmitta year. (of course there are more than one way to calculate years, according to the vilna goan this year is the real shmitta year, but nobody goes like that because of the old minhag in eretz yisroel, [dont worry the rambam also did like that minhag against his own calculation])

there is a tradition from the vilna goan that there is a place by the ???? ??????? that is the place to daven for mosheach.

i am not trying to pull “emotional” on you, rather showing what emotions you, i , and all of kllal yisroel should be feeling. i did not say a halachic statement, rather a krechtz of someone who see a world so disconnected from the churban, that even at a time that our brothers are being shot at in eretz yisroel they still don’t fell like we are in galus. wake up!!

also never heard this shaylah posed to a rav by a child in middle of sitting shiva for a parent, where is our feeling for the churban, for all the tzaros that came to our people in this time of year. the rules set up by chazal were to help us feel the loss, not to give us the mental exercise to circumvent the halachah.

the avudraham says that in the paragraph of “ochilah” on rosh hashanah and yom kippur you should not sing along becasue it is only for the chazzan, sounds like everywhere else it ok to do so!
