It’s interesting how you always bash Obama (as here, and as with Pollard) when he has been doing the same things as his predecessor. Now, it’s true that I would expect Obama to be much better than Bush, but unfortunately he is not really outperforming Bush.

Realize that in her mind, you ‘ran away’ and left her to take on all your responsibilities in addition to her own. Now that you’ve returned, it’s not so easy for her to just relinquish those responsibilities and the residual power that came along with it.

As far as the Middle East:
First, Obama is absolutely not responsible for what happened in Egypt, it was the people who rose up to get rid of Mubarak. Whether or not his fall will hurt Israel is unknown at this time.
Libya, Bahrain, Syria and all the other countries where the President may have a little more to do with the situation do not affect Eretz Yisrael. In fact, if they’re busy fighting amongst themselves, they won’t be preoccupied with Israel.
Second, it was George W. Bush who promulgated the ‘Road Map’ which used the 1967 borders. Obama has never said or done one thing that weakens Israel more than Bush did. Anyone who thought that Bush was good for Israel must agree that Obama is similarly good. Now, obviously, the question is whether either of them are ‘good’ or ‘bad’ for Israel. I don’t know, and I think that it would take a true expert on Middle Eastern history and policy to judge something like that.
As to the economy:
There is no question that we are in dire straits. This all stems from the collapse of Bear Sterns and Lehmann Brothers in 2007. The question is whether McCain would have done something that may have made the situation better than it currently is. Again, I don’t really know the answer to this, and unless we have a navi in the CR, I am certain that nobody else knows the answer.
Maybe we’d be in a full-fledged depression with McCain, maybe the unemployment rate would be 4%… Nobody really knows. But in response to the original post’s question, I have no regrets with my own choice.
I voted for Obama and I have no regrets. The stock market is up 3000 since that day. Would it be higher under McCain? I have no idea, but the idea that Obama is a “nightmare,” as many frum people claim or believe, is laughable. Please tell me concrete things he does that make his presidency so terrible. Please tell me how McCain would have been different, and please tell me how Obama is worse than Bush.

Why on Earth should frum yidden care if the bill passes? It just makes us look bad to protest about such stupidity. The United States is a free country, let those people do the same legal ceremonies that everyone else can do.

Keep in mind that many financial advisers recommend renting over ownership nowadays.
Also, keep in mind that not all law schools (even in New York) accept the BTL.

Cooljude, do you have a relationship with anyone affiliated with this supermarket (or are you affiliated with this supermarket in any way)? I doubt that a regular person would be so interested otherwise.
While I agree that there is such an idea as someone being photogenic or not (there is actually some science behind it), by looking at a picture, one can still ‘weed out’ people who are clearly unattractive. It may sound rough, because it is. I didn’t say that I use pictures to pick out the most good-looking woman, but yes, I will say no to someone whose picture is unattractive to me. I have neither the time nor the koach to go out with every single girl suggested, and this is one of the ways of whittling the suggestions down.
Pumper, I can’t say I appreciate your sarcasm. I was adding my personal opinion and don’t need to be attacked for it. I assure you that all normal guys will absolutely judge you based on your photograph. A solution I see, if you look so horrible in pictures, is to refuse to send any. One possible problem is that some may wonder what you’re hiding.
I get sent a lot of resumes with pictures, and the bottom line is that while you can’t always tell if a girl is attractive, you certainly can tell if she’s unattractive (obviously I mean this subjectively, i.e., “to me”). If she has naturally pretty features, but they are altered by too much fat, she will likely look less attractive. How is that the guy’s fault? It’s no mitzvah to say yes to a girl that is unattractive just to see if her personality will completely upend the scales.
As an aside, I can pretty much say that any girl of average height under 185 pounds is certainly not too fat for me. This is not a blanket statement, but I thought I could add some specificity to this.
I think it’s better than marrying one of 11 children.
If there’s little to no traffic on the BQE, taking the bridge would only take an extra five or so minutes each way. Certainly not worth the $9 or whatever round-trip.
