SHRAGA – I’M BRITISH AND I LIVE IN ISRAEL. ITS THE SAME STORY FOR EVERYONE.

MONEY FROM THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT A GIFT! WE PAY TAXES!

Throughout the western world the idea of child benefits is that children are not to blame for their parents financial state, and (in Israel) it is meant to cover their basic necessities such as food. (In England it covers a lot more).

Taking this away is a crime against innocent children throughout the country. It has nothing to do with chareidim. There are plenty of non frum families with 2 incomes who cannot make ends meet.

Life in Israel is VERY VERY EXPENSIVE – maybe Lapid can wrack his uneducated brains to do something about that!

I cant quote the source, but I heard that it is acceptable to shave on such a Friday, I believe the reason is that it is not kavod shabbos to be unshaven and then shave immediately after.

Best to ask a Rabinic authority

chareidi women mostly have respectable proffesions which contribute to the economy.

avreichim receive 700 NIS a month from the gov. Thats less than $200. Try living on that.

The cost of a soldier/uni student is much greater.

Everyone all over the world has lots to say about the principles of drafting chareidim. Everyone naturally thinks they’re right. When moshiach comes we’ll know who was really right.

Point is – what for?? the IDF expressly said they don’t want the chareidim. It costs too much and there is no real need, they’d rather the budget for weapons.

I think its absurd that the gov is wasting so much effort on this when the economical and security situation demands all their attention. Have ppl forgotten about Iran? Syria? Health issues?

    Interesting list of priorities…

At the time of the maskilim, they put on a show poking fun at charedim. It went like this:

the enemy came to attack. the jewish army was massive and strong. then the leader of the nation got up and declared:

anyone who planted a vineyard and hasn’t seen fruit, go home. anyone who married within the last year, go home. anyone who is worried about his sins, go home. And who was left to fight? a handful of older scholars against the fierce enemy!

This was supposed to be a very funny joke, based on what is written in tanach.

But the point is, we need to remember that thats how it really was – and we won. (when we merited Hashems help)

    ??? ???? ???? ?????? – ?????? ??? ?’ ??????? ?????

I don’t expect people who have no idea what judaism is to know – but i do think that religious jews should have a bit more trust in G-d and a bit more ????? ?????.

We need to do what G-d says, and we’ll leave the math to Him.

According to “math” – the jewish nation should have been extinct years ago. We need zechuyos to continue.

I think it would be sensible to speak to representatives from both parties and see which suits your needs better…

and generally, in life people often don’t “fit” 100%, you need to weigh out which party has more pros than cons – and talk it over with someone you trust to be objective.

I’m also expecting my first baby .

Have you any ideas about the Baby Roues pram? It sounds good – light and folds with the bassinet, and looks good – and not very expensive. I still haven’t found any reveiws online though, and I don’t know how their after sales service is

    there isn’t really an issue…

a jew has to fullfil 613 mitzvos to the best of his ability

one of them is “vehigeisa bo yomam velayl”, studying torah constantly.

if one is able, one must do this.

“se’ar be’isha ervah’ – a single head hair of a woman is ervah, unlike other parts of the body where a tefach is erva.

    Note:

    – even not erva can be wrong i.e. you cannot just reveal a tefach below your collar!

    – head hair does not include hair growing on the neck

I was in sem in gateshead and heard directly from rav falk that skin colour tights are ok as long as they have a detectable sheen to them, i.e. it is clear and obvious that you are wearing tights.

    not clear:

    1. is he giving up what he now believes he wants for now to get what he now believes he’ll want in the future, or to get what he in the future will want – which he may not know exactly right now

This is an essential point as if it is the former, then it is a current want too.

    2. “someone who does what he needs to get what he wants now” – this is a neccessity to survive, or is this talking about luxuries?

Basically, the answer depends on what the subject is. If talking about neccessities, it is wrong. For extras it may be right. and talking about spiritual growth definitely wrong!

But you can sort out all these problems if you just put a little bitachon into the equation! 🙂

ATT: stop saying “I saw” or “i once heard” as anything to rely on 🙂 only solid evidence – as in a source in halacha
