October 1, 2013 11:50 pm at 11:50 pm in reply to: Do we bury suicides in regular cemeteries nowadays #9768942scentsParticipant
I believe that we bury them in the regular part, since we assume that the person regretted his/hers action by the time it was to late to stop.
2scentsParticipantChest pain should never be ignored, it is a sign from Hashem that something is wrong.
especially the fact that the pain/discomfort comes at times that you are in distress.
you can just walk in to any emergency room, they will probably take you right away. they will make sure that you dont have any cardiac event going on.
2scentsParticipantin which state are you?
typically, you need to be certified EMT, with some experience. you will have to take a course which is around 10 months to a year. then do clinical rotations, which varies from state to state.
2scentsParticipantChaimy, your right. There certainly are times in which Hatzalah should be called, even though its not an emergency. However one should use consideration.
Also, I always tell people that even if its not an emergency, yet you think it ‘might’ be an emergency, call Hatzalah, even if its 3 am.
2scentsParticipantThats wrong.
I once had a critical patient, unresponsive, with a dangerously low BP. I interrupted the nurses in middle of their ‘meeting’. They were not at all to happy, to bad, I had a priority patient.
EMTs and Paramedics are supposed to be advocates for their patients. Not more than once did I notice the nurse do something wrong, I politely made her aware of it.
2scentsParticipantI wasn’t saying that its wrong to charge. Obviously there is a valid reason for charging. I was just describing what I saw.
2scentsParticipantseltzer
2scentsParticipantlesschumras,
That is not true!
the patient can be sent out to the waiting room and wait in line to get triaged.
Regarding your comment of a rookie EMT telling a nurse how to do her job.
A) if she is a triage nurse, she really has no job other than listening to the EMT and taking vitals..
B) People involved in the healthcare industry should have better attitude, everyone was at one point a rookie, she should have kindly pointed out to the rookie his/her mistake.
August 14, 2013 4:29 pm at 4:29 pm in reply to: Why Aren't These Posters Banned and Their Topics Deleted? #9708232scentsParticipantrationalfrummie,
that would be the case if the OP is referring to poster that disagree with his/hers post.
However, I think that the OP is referring to posters that create threads with the objective of insulting people.
2scentsParticipantI think it is because people do not realize what they are doing when they are calling Hatzolah.
Hatzolah is a great organization, they are here for our emergencies or for patients that cannot get to the hospital without an ambulance.
Calling Hatzolah for non emergencies, such as when the doctor tells someone with abdominal (and no other symptoms) pain to go to the ER and have it checked out. This is clearly not an emergency (otherwise the doctor would call Hatzolah from his office), it makes no sense to take an ambulance with a full crew out service for this non emergency. (patient could have driven to the ER instead of driving home and calling Hatzolah).
This makes no sense, especially if the patient demands to go to a long distance hospital.
Again, i am not advising anyone not to call, however keep in mind that hatzolah is an organization run by volunteers and are here for emergencies.
2scentsParticipantWith Hatzolah, there are people that are at the doctors office, the doctor tells them they should go to the hospital for further testing etc.
Patient goes home, eats and gets ready, once ready calls hatzolah stating that they have to go to the hospital.
I really think that this person did not think, that there are people that actually people that dropped everything thinking that there is a medical emergency.
2scentsParticipantI have recently noticed someone stuck in their call, the driver told me she is out of gas. She asked if I know Chaveirems phone number, as I was looking it up on my phone, a chaveirim member pulled up, asked what the issue is, then got some gasoline from his van.
I don’t recall him asking the driver for any money.

2scentsParticipantGloves, Gloves, Gloves!
2scentsParticipantWhat would be the din (yeah, I know that everyone should ask their LOR..) for a nurse, doctor or Paramedic to touch the opposite gender to feel the pulse.
I see this happening all the time.
2scentsParticipantAlso, we are plagued by ‘buffers’ that scan hatzalah and show up to ‘exciting’ calls. This is ridiculous, someone is going through a crisis and you entertain yourself by observing it?!
Also, the kindhearted neighbor that bursts in offering to watch the children only to disappear once she is done checking out what is going on..
2scentsParticipantI think the fact that this trial is on major news networks will make a difference in its outcome.
2scentsParticipantPopa, I’m still rolling
2scentsParticipantShopping, please dont go into this ‘suspecting everyone’ mode.
A few posters already took it upon themselves to call out other posters, and they got bitten, it caused a lot of hard feelings, leave this to the mods.
2scentsParticipantOne thing for sure, you have a lot of talent.
I watched it a few times, and still dont get bored watching it.
2scentsParticipantNo, I just mentioned it in a earlier post..
But how in the world are we gonna find out?
2scentsParticipantOK, so not the complete old CR, that would also have Dr. Pepper..
2scentsParticipantits back to the old CR. .
July 2, 2013 11:33 am at 11:33 am in reply to: Cutting off cars waiting on linerude or not? #9634642scentsParticipantCherrybib, that’s ridiculous . What issur is there to pass on the right lane?
2scentsParticipantWhat does passing to the right?
if the right lane has no cars, and the left lane is jammed, are you legally required to sit in the left lane?
I do not believe that this is the law.
2scentsParticipantI always do it.
If I am entering the highway, and there is still a few feet of the exit (or entrance) lane, I will stay on it until I am forced to merge.
Why in the world must I join all the other cards waiting in traffic.
Also, if I am in traffic, and there is a entrance lane to my right, I will quickly change onto that lane and change back only when I am forced to do so.
Why in the world should I wait in traffic when I dont have to, and why am I worse than the person that is now entering the highway.
2scentsParticipantI think the issue is that even though you promise to behave only as is the standard of that camp, yet that is all until you decide to behave so.
Meaning that if you for whatever reason that you are fed up with the more orthodox lifestyle and dress code, you can decide no longer to lead this temporary life style.
Not that I think you will do so, only that the camp has the right to think so.
More so, I would be upset if the camp I send my children hire staff that are below the camps standard, and rely on the staff to change for the summer.
you have to keep in mind that a camp is not just someones personal business venture, parents put a lot of trust in the camp, which includes in hiring staff that are up to the standard in yiddishkeit.
2scentsParticipantWhy are you huh’ing midwesterner?
You skipped this second paragraph:
And if it happens that we fall and transgress and actually enjoy the forbidden fruit, we certainly don’t advertise that on a public forum.
Sorry, but I do not see any arrogance in this post, actually I see it in yours.
2scentsParticipantRashi explains in a few places that ‘MIN’ means someone that does not believe in Torah Shel Bal Peh, and that is the Talmidei Yeshu.
That is why always Shoal Min Echod, was someone that was fluent in torah shel bal ksav yet didnt believe in shel bal peh.
2scentsParticipantSelichos. It won’t be that easy for you to get the mods to team up with you agains OOM. OOM has a solid track record.
What you don’t understand is, that you have no right hurting anyone’s feelings.
2scentsParticipantSlichos,
Count me out. As a long time reader I can say with confidence that most CR readers and posters do not want any poster to leave unless the posters a troll.
We have been through tough times, feelings have been hurt. The ‘regulars’ already know better than to hurt ones feelings.
I don’t know how can take the liberty and poke some fun at someone else’s expense.
Shopping, should stay and is free to post whatever she wants, no one said you just read it.
2scentsParticipantGive them your other subtitle..
2scentsParticipantI think that it really depends what he revealed, there might be more secrets he gave away to our enemies.
However, if all he revealed was that the US is spying on its own citizens, then I think he is a hero.
I think that each spying instance should require a warrant. the government should not be allowed to do whatever it wants if it is illegal.
All (as far as I know) Snowden did was to reveal that NSA is doing illegal stuff.
2scentsParticipantHey, just because there are few replies to your posts, does not mean that you are boring.
It would be beneficial for the CR to have you sticking around.
June 13, 2013 9:10 pm at 9:10 pm in reply to: What do they do once they buy your miles/points? #9595452scentsParticipantDoes anyone know how much the average pay is for a few hundred thousand miles? (more than 500k).
June 12, 2013 5:51 pm at 5:51 pm in reply to: Has anyone's car gotten badly damaged while parked at Shoprite Plaza, Lakewood? #9586182scentsParticipantBy now it might be to late to file a police report. also, you might not be able to get the surveillance footage.
I would probably contact the local body shop and see how much it would cost to repair, then I will see if it pays to file a claim or not.
2scentsParticipantOK, sorry for bringing up that accusation, and thanks for clearing it up for us.
Shopping, lets not dig up ‘that’ post, lets leave it behind us.
I think that M-42 answered your question, ZK is currently posting under a new name.
I think that matching ZK’s style to any recently joined member wuld reveal under which name ZK is posting.
2scentsParticipantZeeskeit i think stated that she/he will leave since ‘it’ was accused of being J..
2scentsParticipantDoes your insurance cover ANY medications?
I do not think that $100 is that difficult to come up with, 100.00 should not stand between you and your life.
2scentsParticipantWhy would one want to cause trouble to another person?
Just because you are bored and do not have what to do does not mean that you can (ab)use me for your entertainment.
2scentsParticipantIf you don’t mind to answer, how did the allergist diagnose you with the allergy, and what made you think in the first place that you have food allergies?
2scentsParticipantThanks.
2scentsParticipantYes, the blood pressure is effected. But shouldn’t really be any concern for a healthy person.
I am not implying that you should not call Hatzoloh or EMS. Rather that the cardiac side effects are minimal compared to the benefit. Besides that some allergic reaction actually decrease the blood pressure, so the fact that Epi brings it up is beneficial.
2scentsParticipantOf course the heart is effected, it increases. However s does the heart rate increase when you run on the treadmill.
The primary concern of a child having a severe allergic reaction is not the heart rate. Rather a clear airway and normal blood pressure.
Heart rate does get effected, but in a normal healthy person that’s not a big concern. The major concern is once the Epi wears off and the symptoms come back.
Of course the ER will do cardiac monitoring, usually for around 4-6 hours but that’s not the real concern.
2scentsParticipantWhy doesn’t your insurance pay for it?
Regarding the cost. This shouldn’t stop you from carrying a life saving medication with you.
2scentsParticipantHow did the allergist diagnose you?
Either way, you should make sure to carry a Epi pen with you as it might save your life.
2scentsParticipantUnless you have a heart condition you don’t have to be concerned about the increased heart rate.
The reason you should go to the ER is because the Epi wears off, it’s only a temporary relief.
2scentsParticipantYour right, we dont have much of the ‘hot’ news, but Monsey is no quiet town, there is a lot going on.
2scentsParticipantYes, the old theory used to be that only someone with a history of sever allergic reactions should use an epipen.
However currently it is the symptoms that dictate if an epipen should be used or not.
Pre hospital protocols no longer require the patient to have a known allergy.
Keep in mind that epipen should only be used if there is respiratory or circulatory compromise. Also, you should seek medical attention after using an epipen.
2scentsParticipantHow about the protesters now in the streets of spring valley?
