“Heck Spain outlawed them in the ’40s”
I don’t know what laws are on the books but when I was there a few years back it was very common for businesses to be closed for a few hours in the early afternoon.

My biggest issue with the current system is the total lack of price transparency. 3 different patients with 3 different insurance providers can have the exact same tests/treatment/surgery and the doctor will be reimbursed wildly different amounts.
It’s no secret that Medicaid reimbursement rates are by far the worst. Arguably, they don’t pay doctors enough to pay the rent and keep the lights on. Hospitals in low income areas, (with a high percentage of their patient population on Medicaid) often struggle and risk closure, simply due to the lack of funds. The one thing I’ve never heard from a proponent of single payer healthcare is that reimbursement rates will be increased because doing so will cost billions of dollars more than anyone cares to admit.

Not gonna do that. There is no point and would be a waste of my time. But if you actually are curious there are plenty of resources online that explain what mRNA is and what cells in the body do with it. Many will even use as little “fancy and technical scientific jargon” as possible to cater to people such as yourself.

The only thing that’s blank is Schumer’s lack of a statement and support for the Jewish community. Plenty of other powerful democrats, including Nancy Pelosi, issued statements supporting Israel’s right to defend its self and condemning anti-Semitic violence and hatred.
He is a self-serving coward and deserves to be called out.

Clearly our little back and forth is a giant waste of time so this will be my last post on this topic.

Not sure how you can say that when the leader of the Senate was too scared to anger the extremist members of the party. If that is not an indicator of where the party is heading I don’t know what is. Thankfully, Biden didn’t cave, this time, but how much longer will that be the case?
Personally I think his tweet from last night was very bland and generic (as to not chas Vshalom anger anyone) and too little too late.

I stand corrected. The great defender of the Jews posted the following on twitter 3 hours ago:
We must stand together to stop the recent surge in anti-Semitic attacks.
We must stand together against the forces of hate.
Anti-Semitism, bigotry, and intolerance have no place in New York or anywhere else.

I wonder who the “forces of hate” are? Probably Trump supporters.

I can not disagree with you strongly enough. He isn’t a man who’s shy of making statements or appearing in front of cameras. If he’s too scared to make a statement because it will anger the squad I think it’s reasonable to question his past statements. For years he sold him self as the “shomer yisroel” and now when Israel was under constant attack and being slandered by rapidly rising members of his own party he had nothing to say?
Worse in my mind is his complete silence on what happened in NYC. Jews who have nothing to do with the Israeli/Palestinian conflict are being assaulted in his district by gangs shouting anti-Semitic slogans and he is completely AWOL.

Schumer clearly caved to their pressure as he desperately tries to avoid a primary against by AOC. He doesn’t even have the guts to condemn violent pro-Palestinian mobs from attacking Jews in the streets of NYC. How is that not an indication of where the party is heading?

Your only reference to big cities was when you blamed the Jews for the violence perpetuated against us (“Bad behavior by frum Jews moving into not-first ring suburbs has brought about many anti-Jewish attacks…verbal and physical.”) Are you going to apologize for your despicable remarks?

“I feel far more comfortable with left wing POC in my area (including the large city we neighbor) than the Right wing Trump lovers with tatoos, American, Trump and Confederate flags on their pickup trucks. They express their Jew Hatred and Hitler love pretty openly while living in denial”

That is great and I wish you and your family many more happy and healthy years of living in harmony with all your neighbors. But as people keep pointing out, the vast majority of anti-Semitic violence that Jews in large cities (where most Jews live) face is coming from minority POC and not confederate flag waving Trump lovers.

While this may be true in your little village in CT (behind the walls of your compound) it is certainly not the case in NYC. A simple google search shows anti semitic hate crimes (and all sorts of crime) are up in NYC. Not to long ago (December 2019-early 2020) Cuomo sent State Troopers to patrol Boro Park and Flatbush armed with rifles to get the situation under control. (And no, the threat was not coming from far right MAGA hat wearers)

“We understand living in harmony with our neighbors.”

There are unintended consequences of raising capital gains taxes on the rich. If they have to pay upwards of 50% of their earnings (depending what State they live in) in taxes it decreases the incentive for them to invest in the stock market. Why take risk if the potential reward is slashed in half? If the rich pull out of/reduce their investments in the stock market it will cause a dip, negatively effecting anyone who has a pension, 401k, or brokerage account (i.e. blue collar and middle class people)

What rules of shomer negia? You admit yourself that a male hatzolah member treated your elderly mother (as he should and is allowed to). Do you think 911 EMT’s/paramedics are going to inappropriately touch women? You can argue that with 911 since you have a pretty good chance of getting a female EMT/paramedic maybe in this regard 911 should be your preferred option.

“who knows how long 911 would have taken”
The County knows. They keep track of this info.

“OH and do the medics of 911 speak Yiddish???”
On the rare occasion that a patient only speaks yiddish and no has one else to translate maybe the Hatzlah EMT who speaks yiddish (apparently now all of them do) can translate.

“911 would never have treated her the same.”
When happened when your mother needed to go to the hospital? Did the 911 responders treat her poorly and disrespectfully?

Hatzalah was initially founded in response to the city’s/911 atrocious response times. Many other volunteer ambulance services were founded in non jewish neighborhoods for the exact same reason.

AAQ, I have no clue what you are talking about and I don’t think you do either. The vaccines are 94-95% effective and the CDC says a vaccinated person does not need to quarantine after being exposed to a Covid + person. There is also data showing that vaccinated people don’t spread covid and there is no reason to think they will.

An ambulance company bills insurance when they transport someone to the hospital. If Hatzola (or another company) starts transporting the city will lose money.
It’s a perfectly legitimate question to ask why Hatzola is needed. If the local 911 service has good response times and does a good job (I have no clue if they do or not) is it the best idea to raise millions of dollars to fund Hatzola? Maybe the money is better used elsewhere.

“ The vaccinated need masks to protect the unvaccinated.”
Assuming you are correct (to the best of my knowledge, there is no study saying vaccinated people do spread covid and more and more new data suggests they do not) How much longer do we say this? In NYC, as of last Friday, vaccines are available to anyone over 16 without an appointment. When do we say everyone who wants a vaccine had the opportunity to get one?
The Government (CDC, Dr Fauci etc…) has changed its positions and walking back “good news” one time too many. It’s not unreasonable to be at least a little skeptical of their motives especially when there are doctors who are just as qualified as Dr Fauci offering different opinions.

“The idea that he was prosecuted and convicted to appease the woke mob is simply a lie.”
It can definitely appear that way. People were literally lined up all around the country waiting to “peacefully protest” if they didn’t get the verdict they wanted. Every Police department in the country was on high alert. High ranking politicians including the president made it clear what the “right decision” was. I believe one of the alternate jurors even said in an interview that she would have said guilty to appease the mob. There is an interesting opinion piece in Newsweek from Mark Weaver comparing this trial to one in the 50’s where a murderer wound up walking free after a rushed trial was conducted to to appease the mob and was overturned on appeal.

He was saying this before he was pinned to the ground, its on the video.

Misleading. It started because of a fake 20 and escalated to this due to his erratic (quite possibly drug induced) behavior (no, erratic behavior shouldn’t end up with the person dead)
Clearly Jackk is looking at this case objectively. I suggest you actually watch the trial and not just the 2 min talking point videos pulled by the media which confirm you biases. Particularly, the testimony from 4/7.
All the defense needs for an acquittal is reasonable doubt. IMO, having watched all of the testimony (it’s all on YouTube) the only charge that has merit is 2nd degree manslaughter and even that isn’t a slam dunk.

    Yes.

“On the other hand there are many accounts from patients”
Many of which were widely blown out of proportion and exaggerated, if not fabricated, as they got passed around the community and social media.

“as well as some brave nurses who risked it all just to expose what was going on”
Why do you believe a handful of random nurses and not the hundreds of doctors/nurses who say otherwise, including dozens of frum medical professionals? Does it have anything to do with your preconceived biases?

“Its a fact that you can look up, which has been reported on how they were hooking up 2 patients to the same ventilator which already risks both lives at once”
It’s a fact that hospitals considered this. They considered this out of desperation. In any event, to the best of my knowledge, this approach was hardly used and was discouraged by most medical organizations. If you have proof otherwise please share it.

“untrained technicians using ventilators improperly which resulted in death”
What are your qualifications to judge if a vent was being used properly or not?

“And you know what if dying a few hours later as a result of the vaccine isnt proof enough, then vaccinated people not getting sick isnt proof that its due to the vaccine. Prove that it is.”
Vaccinated people develop a measurable immune response/antibodies against the virus. What’s your proof that these people died from the vaccine?

“Just look at how many people they hooked up to ventilators without need only for the money even if it killed them which it has.”
This is a lie. These patients weren’t breathing enough to sustain their own lives and needed medical intervention. At the time a ventilator seemed to be the best medical decision.

“What was it something like $3000 for a Covid patient but $6500 for a dead one?”
Lets assume these numbers are accurate, surely they would make more money keeping these patients alive and get paid per day rather than one lump sum for when they die.
Do you have any source that hospitals get paid every time a patient dies?

“I dont need to prove anything. There have been numerous cases of people dying hours later after the vaccine.”
Actually you do. (Not you per say, because you are a fringe conspiracy theorist who will carry your warped narrative till the end) Sure, there are people who die shortly after receiving the vaccine, people die every day. But if the vaccine was causing it to happen there would be an measurable increase in these incidents occurring – more strokes, heart attacks, etc… in people who just received the vaccine.

“Also dont forget how everyone who entered the Hospital were automatically listed as a Covid patient.”
    Another lie.

“even the WHO came out to say that the real number was less than 10,000 strictly Covid.”
Highly misleading, (I’m pretty sure) you are referring to the number of deaths among people who had NO other comorbidities, no high blood pressure, COPD, diabetes, heart problems. The vast majority of adults have at least one. (AHA estimates that 103 million Americans have high blood pressure)

    Me: You’re a crazy person.
You: “I never said vaccines are designed for depopulation please show me where I stated that?”

“But when a person who has been crying out for pandemics, depopulation and vaccines for so many years is now suddenly in charge of this whole project, it’s a bit concerning.”
So because he’s been warning the world (since 2015) that this might happen that means he finally got fed up with waiting and unleashed the virus?

“did you also know that your saviour Bill Gates was kicked out of India and Africa after it became known that the vaccines he was giving to kids was sterilizing them! Or is that a conspiracy as well?”
No conspiracy, just a complete fabrication. The Indian Health Ministry even released a statement which in part said, Some media reports have suggested that all health related collaboration with the Gates Foundation with National Health Mission (NHM) has been stopped. This is inaccurate and misleading. BMGF continues to collaborate and support the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.”

But if a well respected Rav/Bais Din confirms that the guy is wrong then I think public shaming is the perfect solution to this problem. More shuls should actively bar these men from participating in the kehilla, immense pressure should be put on family members who are aiding and abetting his behavior and they should be shunned from polite society. The real issue is determining the legitimacy of a woman’s claim, a strong central well respected bais din (something this country lacks) would solve this.

Yes, yeshivas give tuition breaks and there are government programs to help with food, healthcare and rent (which many of the frum middle class don’t qualify for) but it’s not sustainable to have a community running on handouts and subsidies.

Amazon removing Parler from its servers isn’t the same as Fox rejecting an advertiser. Let’s also be honest and admit that the “advocating violence” standard is just an excuse as there is zero attempt to apply this standard to other social media companies and political/social ideas. One can be horrified and disgusted by what happened at the Capital, and Trump’s behavior surrounding it, and also call out this obvious double standard.

“Now there is the Trump call to the Governor of Georgia.”

I wonder if twitter will apply their hacked material policy to this phone call?

“Show up in your yarmulke to a White Lives Matter protest and get beaten up by the anti-Semites. If you are lucky.”

You mean like what happened at a BLM rally in Philly in late October? Or the BLM party platform from 2016 which said United States was “complicit in the genocide taking place against the Palestinian people,” and described Israel as “an apartheid state.”

Stop trying to change the subject. Black anti semitism is a real problem and that doesn’t change simply because there are white anti Semites too.
You are also avoiding @coffee addicts real contention (and the point of this thread) that deBlasio’s double standard when it comes to criticizing and condemning different groups.

DeBlasio labeled the woman who falsely accused a black teen of stealing her phone as a racist and tweeted “I am sorry this happened to you. Her behavior was an affront to our city’s values.” He later tweeted the NYPD and Manhattan DA are working “to ensure justice will be done.”

I wonder when he will say the same about this incident. So far nothing.

“Yet young Congresswoman AOC did get the vaccine. Explain that.’

Easy, when popular/famous/influential people do something publicly it instills trust in said activity.

Something about this story seems off. The health center in question was very open about the fact that they received a shipment of vaccines. They posted about it on Instagram, Twitter and gave an interview to a local website.
Either they are incredibly stupid or arrogant to think they wouldn’t get caught. Or there is more to the story…
